hi,
in the anime of chobits, the little persocom with the purple hair is called sumomo.
but in the amarican manga, she is called plum.
why the heck is that, why do they change the names anyway???

are you sure?
coz the american version they call
her sumomo maybe your mistaken
better watch the show again or i think
your mistaken suumomo is the pink
little persocom and the outher its purple
which i forgot her name but in chobits
theres two persocom that are small xd

Why do they ever change names? To make it easier for us crazy english people. I personally love their original names... Sumomo is pink, but could be mistaken for like a mauvy purple...
p.s the other purple laptop persocom is Kotoko. <3

Yeah, you should have seen the original SailorMoon names that DIC promoted....twas horrible, anyways, I think that in addition to cutting out the scenes and leaning all anime towards little kids, that some idiot does think that Americanizing the names would help.

sailor moon was awesome.. I use to watch the anime series all the time when i was a kid.

sailor moon was awesome.. I use to watch the anime series all the time when i was a kid.

you should see the uncut subbed version.

lets think, maybe cos sumomo is plum in japanese...*dont take that as a fact*

I can confirm Plum is the Japanese meaning of Sumomo.

They changed it because they could do so easily in the manga. It was harder to do in the anime, because any time someone would say 'Sumomo', which is three sylables long, replacing it with a one sylable, 'Plum', would make them look mentally retarted. xp

I personally prefer Sumomo.
