((ooc: Just a bit of future set RP. Since it'll be a bit longer before the cubs (Jini and Mosi) are born, this will be set a little ahead. Not much, but just far enough. :3 Please post a request/notice if you're going to join! It'd be nice if you include a picture or cert of your character too! <3))

Life in the pridelands had been blissful from day one. Nukta never would have thought that they'd have such luck as to find a land not only rumored to have so much promise, but for that promise to hold true. Game was plentiful, the grasses were lush and green, water was abundant, there were actually very many friendly faces (though the males still made Nukta a little tense.), and most importantly, there was peace and a sense of security. It wasn't but a few weeks since Adanna had birthed their cubs, and they were old enough to wander away from the den. Mosi, the oldest, was insistant on being taken out and shown the wonders of their home.

Beside her laid her father, tall and strong. His inky pelt and stark white markings stood out amongst the lush greens of the Pride's grasslands where he rested with Mosi on a hilltop. He wasn't fully grown yet, and he wasn't all that big, really, by lion standards (average size at the least and most), but to her he was a giant. She admired both of her parents, her mother was confident and strong, and the only one she'd ever seen capable of bossing dad around and beating him down!

Dad was grumpy a lot it seemed, but he was fun to roughhouse with, just like momma.

Mosi herself had just spotted a green hopper, and delighted herself in giving chase, laughing as she terrorized the little insect- pounce after pounce under her father's lazy and watchful eyes.

(( I shall be joining in with Ezeoha, yess! ))

Ezeoha lived the life of a king, and strutted around every day as if showing off his heritage. The cub was, as always, his youthful and flirtatious self. No female had left his presence without knowing his esteemed heritage, nor had they left unscathed by his mindless flirtations. Even though he was unsuccesful at every flirtation attempt he made, it still didn't manage to get the cub down so much. In fact, with each failed attempt he seemed to become more vigorous with his future tries. Failure was the fuel for sucess, and he was determined to have one sucess soon.

The cub pranced along through the pridelands, easily distracted by butterflys and grasshoppers. It was always so lovely in these lands, and Ezeoha had the pleasure of never knowing what some lions had to go through. He was happily ignorant of the troubles outside of his own little world, ignorant to the sufferings of rouge lions and the like.

"Hmm?" Ezeoha had spotted one rather distinct figure in the near distance. It was hard not to notice Nukta on account of the color of his pelt. He was darker than night itself. The little cub smirked to himself, trotting forward to tackle and tease the older lion. But, his attention was driven elsewhere... to such a beauty that his mind swirled in agony at the thought of not being able to speak with her.

He ran, his little face form seeming to jump up into the air as each paw landed on the ground. "Nuuuukkkkkkiiii, when did you begin to hang out with such beatiful lionesses that surely must be gifts from the gods!" The little cub exclaimed, leaping into the air in attempt to bound over Nukta and over to the female. Unfortunately, though, he more than less ran into the older male.

Nukta's head swiveled in the direction of the approaching Ezeoha and the adolescent nearly groaned. He remembered Eze from the first encounter at the border of the pridelands, and as a constant reminder of why he'd been uneasy here in the first weeks. He'd seemed unphased by his age, not letting it stop him from hitting on Adanna relentlessly, and now he was honing in on their daughter? That wasn't going to due. =_=;;

Mosi looked up curiously from her position on the ground, the hopper escaping her cubbish paws and fleeing for it's dear life. Mosi didn't even seem to notice, let alone care. She padded back to Nukta's side and watched the older cub's approach, arching a white painted brow as he crashed headlong into the older male. She sounded uncertain as she inquired.

"Who is that, dad?"

Nukta barely twitched at the impact, simply making a tolerant frown at the old nickname as he looked down at the young male. "A friend of your mother's.... and mine."

He added the last part after a pause. He'd never been too sure of what to make of the little guy, but he'd been addressed as a friend when Eze asked Sarabi to grant them permission to stay here. He figured he should return the title in this case.

Ezeoha's curiosity had been officially piqued. The little cub, recovering from his head on collision with Nukta, flopped on top of the older lion. He didn't quite care if Nukta didn't like him climbing on him. After all, they were friends, weren't they?

"Dad? When'd you become a dad?" Ezeoha seemed to have more control over his words in the presence of a female. Really, he did not want to seem rude in Mosi's presence. She was the epitome of beauty in Ezeoha's eyes. Her beauty could compare to Chinara's. Of course, he'd have to get used to the startling black of her coat, but his eyes liked surprises every now and then.

"I'm Ezeoha, but you can call me Ezzy, Ez, Eze, whatever you like. I wont mind. As long as it isn't too insulting I'm fine." He crawled off of Nukta, if only to seat himself before his daughter so he could perhaps get a better chance at conversing with her.

"You produce lovely daughters, Nukta, might yah have some more I can meet?"

And to think, he hadn't even gotten Mosi's name yet.

Mosi's ears went flat to her skull, embarassed and confused by Ezeoha's compliments, direct or indirect. The only boys she'd ever encountered till now were her brother Jini and her father, and Nukta was never like that around mom, and neither was Jini. To Mosi Ezeoha was the weirdest lion she'd met yet. He was acting like something she'd never seen before!

The little female took one step back, but stopped after, eyeing the other uncertainly as he seated himself in front of her and her father.

Nukta himself only growled in his throat faintly as he was used for a climbing pad, if he were younger he would've probably knocked the little male loose already, Adanna had, after all, scored three claw marks from him on the first night they met. Nukta's temper was honed that night, however little. He was much more tolerant now, enough not to use violence on a cub, or female, not even at the end of his patience.

One thing that did make him uneasy was Ezeoha's flirting. By the gods! If he was this bad at THIS age Nukta didn't want to think about how he'd be when he was older-- D< OH HELL NO. Not with HIS daughter!!

.... Posessive brother, posessive friend, posessive mate, posessive dad. What more could be said?

"No. Mosi is the only girl." He said dryly, tolerantly rolling his eyes. "But we do have a son if you'd like to meet him."

Well, it seemed like the other male cub was going to meet Jini whether he wanted to or not. For the little orange, black, and white male stumbled up the grassy slope not long after his father's comment. He stopped before his father with an admiring, but naturally soft gaze.

He noticed the other cub there, and suddenly felt akward. His ears flickered about uncertainly, for he had a message to deliver and he didn't want to mess it up. Trying not to be distracted he said to his father, "Daddy...Mommy wants to see you..."

He wouldnt' say exactly what his mother had said, for...well, Ada didn't seem to mind what she said in front of her children. Somehow he felt he shouldn't repete it, even if he didn't know the meaning. Now, Jini seemed to know when his mom was really angry or when she was just having one of her dramatic days. She was furious this time, but it was her nature to make a fuss anyway.

Ezeoha stared at Mosi in obvious confusion. He had never seen a female back down from him this quickly, and it was a little disheartening. He laid down on the ground, head resting his paws, trying to look cute. Perhaps if he looked adorable enough she wouldn't step further away from him? Oh, Ezeoha did not know, but he surely had to try everything to at least gain her friendship. She was too sweet and too beautiful just to let walk away.

"I'm happy to hear that, perhaps her brother and myself can become friends." Of course, her brother would probably be used, in a way, for Ezeoha to be able to get closer to Mosi. What girl did not like a close friend of their brothers? Besides, there weren't a lot of cubs his age, and let alone male cubs. He needed some romping partners, at the very least.

It seemed then that the brother had presented himself, and Ezeoha was ever eager to greet the other young cub. "I'm old enough to watch Mosi and her brother!" Ezeoha announced, looking eagerly to Nukta. "We'll play and get to know each other, and everything's perfectly alright here, and I don't meet many cubs my age..." It was characteristic of Ezeoha to ramble when he wanted something. He had to get out all the points he wanted so that there would be no choice but to let him have his way.

"Hello Mosi's brother! I'm Ezeoha, and Mosi could probably tell you my nicknames." It was amazing, actually. In the presence of a male his age and the opportunity of getting a friend Ezeoha had nearly almost forgotten to flirt with Mosi.

"Uhhh... okay, Ezy..." She replied with a befuddled expression, just before it faded into more of a smile. So long as he wasn't flinging compliments at her she seemed to be fine. She just didn't hear them until now, not like those, and it made her feel embarassed, and she expressed it in a confused manner.

At his son's approach, and his hesitant words, Nukta's eyes furrowed with his muzzle into a wince. That didn't sound good, Adanna usually only called for him away from the children when she was irked about something. He eyed Ezeoha for a moment before relenting, getting to his paws and giving his daughter a nudge towards their "babysitter".

"Mosi, Jini, stay here until one of us comes back. Come straight back to the den if there's any trouble."

Mosi squeaked and stumbled forward, closer to Ezeoha again-- nearly tripping ontop of him but catching herself. Jaw dropping and ears lowering slightly, Mosi whirled around to gape after her father.

"Awww!! But DAD- I don't need a babysitter!!"

"Mosi I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. Jini make sure your sister doesn't get into any trouble!"

With a light bump of his nose against Jini's side, the adolescent was off towards his doom-- er, their den.

Mosi glowered after Nukta with a sour expression. He was always putting a hamper on their fun whenever they wanted to find some adventure!

"Parents. Puh." She snorted, turning dejectedly back to the others and exhaling. "We never get to go on any adventures!"

"Yes, daddy..." Jini said in a small tone followed by an obediant nod. He wasn't one to go against what someone told him. After all, he had Ada, Nukta, AND Mosi to boss him around so...it was just easier to listen. Besides, he didn't like it when they were unhappy with him, so he always did the best he could.

He frowned sadly at his sister, "Um...well...we can still have fun, I'm sure, sissy..." he trailed off because...well, he wasn't sure. It didn't seem like he was ever sure about anything, except for how people were feeling. He had a pretty good sense of that.

Ezeoha was shocked when Nukta actually seemed to accept him as the temporary "babysitter". Oh, but Ezeoha was more than up to the job. Besides, Nukta had practically flung his daughter at him, and that had to mean that Ezeoha was free to wiggle his way into her heart. It was on Nukta's good wishes.

But, as soon as Nukta was out of sight all hell was about to break loose. Ezeoha was not going to be the bearer of no fun. Besides, he was a cub too and he wanted to play. "But, why not go on adventures now? I'm here, and your babysitter. You can't get in trouble for exploring when I'm around!"

The little cub nodded his head enthusiastically and began to trot away from the two. "C'mon! I'm sure there's some awesome things we can find, and we can even play some games too. We could romp, yes, I like that idea, especially when there's no adults around to tell us we're getting too rough."

Oh, yes, Ezeoha, the ever perfect babysitter.

Nukta was barely out of earshot and already Ezeoha was leading them off for an unpermitted bit of fun! >D OH SHE LIKED THIS GUY.

"Yeah!! Come on Jini! Now we'll have some real fun."

She looked positively impish and mischevious for a moment as she bore her teeth in a grin and lowered her ears sneakily. She looked at her brother like that for a moment before turning to hurry to catch up with Ezeoha, coming up alongside of him evenly- even if her leg-length required a little more work to stay at that pace.

"You live here too right? Where do you think we could go for some fun?"
PostPosted: Sat Apr 01, 2006 10:00 pm

Jini looked horribly distressed. But daddy had said to stay here! His ears flattened against his skull, feeling torn. He couldn't just leave his sissy to run off and...do who knows what! But he didn't want to make daddy mad at him either...

"H-hey, sissy...w-we're not supposed to leave!" He whined, bounding after her. However, poor little Jini was the type who was easily ignored, so it was very likely he was going to have to trail along after the too to make sure things went smoothly.

Ezeoha was partially glad that Mosi was able to convince her brother to come along. If Jini had refused to come Ezeoha would've gotten a little bit worried about the possibility of Jini running off to Nukta and blabbing on them. All they were going to do was have some fun, and there was no reason for it to be ruined, and definately less reason for Jini not to be involved.

"Don't worry Jini; I'm here and nothing will go wrong." The cub stomped his paws into the ground proudly and marched ahead with his head raised high. Perhaps he was a little full of himself, but there was nothing wrong with having an ego and good self-esteem.

"Well, um, I don't think we should go to the termite mounds just because when you try to get one bug you get a whole lot more on you, and they make you itchy. So I don't think that'd be too fun. The watering hole may be nice, though I don't want to get squished by a larger animal." It almost seemed as if he was being cautious about where he was taking his new friends. He didn't want them to get hurt, and he really didn't want to face Nukta's wrath.

"There's a lot of bugs and butterflys we can chase up ahead, and there are some meerkats around here somewhere..." He was having trouble just choosing where to go.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 02, 2006 5:33 pm

Mosi only glanced back at her brother to make sure he was following. She seemed indifferent to his protests, but truth be told she would rather have him where she could keep an eye on him, in case there really WAS trouble. Spotting her auburn pelted sibling she seemed satisfied, and turned her attention back to Ezeoha's indecisive suggestions, scrunching up her brow a little curiously (as if wary. Just how promising was that last suggestion?).

"What's a Meerkat?"

Jini sighed and trudged along hopelessly after them. No one ever listened to him. >< He gave up on trying and just trailed along, looking a little worried. What was daddy going to say when they weren't there? He hoped they wouldn't get into too much trouble...

He listened to his sister and Eze talk silently, hoping they wouldn't go anywhere dangerous. When he heard his sister's question about meerkats his white ear flickered slightly to the side in thought. He remembered mommy and daddy talking about them before, but he couldn't recall what they had said.
