Hassan was held loosely upon Oddy's hip as she absent mindedly dusted, semi-patiently awaiting the new guardian of the cutie on her hip's arrival. The previous parent of the darling Hassan had, unfortunately, disappeared and left the little one on the shop doorstep, crying, and apparently very unhappy. It tore her heart to see the little one in such a tearful state, and she had found that any detatchment from some sort of adult would leave the little one crying. He seemed to be afraid of abandonment.
"Lookie little Hassan! A feater duster!" With that she gently tickled at the boy's nose and he sneezed, probably from a mixture of the dust and the feather's gentle, tickling touch.
She went to put him down on an old looking chair, and the downward motion made him pout out his lip and start whimpering, his big eyes wet with tears. "Okay, okay, little Hassan.." She straightened up once more, sliding him across her body to the other side, her now free arm a bit sore.

Faewynd paused before the shop entrance, brushing invisible lint from her dress and biting her lip. A tiny fairy perched on her shoulder, buzzing her wings impatiently.
"alright, alright already..." Fae murmurred nervously, and reached for the door, entering the shop and looking around. "Hello?" She called out, peering around the unfamiliar interior of the Xanth Internal Affairs.

Oddy came out from the back of the shop with a helpless grin upon her face. The kind woman who was dear enough to take in the little orphaned Hassan had finally arrived! The excitement she felt in her chest was nearly overwhelming as she attempted to steady herself enough to prevent herself from positively tackling the girl.
"Hello! You must be Faewynd! This cutie right here is Hassan!" She switched sides that Hassan was on once again so that the woman could look at him easily, her sore arm protesting against the move. Hassan just looked from Oddy to Faewynd with a slightly confused look upon his face.

Fae smiled at Oddy, and then looked at the little boy in her arms. It truly was love at first sight, she was stricken. "Hello, Hassan." Fae said softly, stepping towards them and holding out a hand for him to investigate. The little fairy on her shoulder hovered, seeming to sniff the air, and peered at the baby from behind Fae's neck*

Oddy simply took a step forward, grinning slightly. Hassan took this motion as an open invitation into the other woman's arms and he twisted so both of his arms were held out to Faewynd. His hand started a clench and release motion in the all to common grabbing motion.
"Well, Miss Faewynd, it seems that he wants you." Her eyes were warm and welcoming as she gently flicked her eyes over to the fairy that was hovering about the woman.

A bright grin lit Faewynd's face as she took the little boy and held him close. "Hey sweetie..." She said, jiggling him a little in her arms. Then she turned her gaze to Oddy, "I... this means so much to me." She smiled, her eyes shining with the possibility of tears. "Thank you... I promise, I'll take good care of him."

Oddy grinned, rolling her shoulders and groaning a bit under her breath, hopeful that no one heard her. "Well, we're not quite done with you yet, now are we?" She smiled and went behind the counter, "I have his certificate right here. It's already set up and such. We just need to get the journal from the grump. While we are waiting for him to set that up, do you have any questions for me?"

Fae blinked, then shook her head. "No... except, Something about a sister was mentioned?" As she spoke to Oddy, the little fairy flickered out from behind her and buzzed closer to Hassan, as if inspecting him.

"Ah! Yes, he has a twin sister! They went to different parents as to enable them to possibly have a better life/understanding of one another. They may remember one another as twins later on in their life, they may not. We made a mistake in changing him, so it would probably be best if they don't remember.. Only she was supposed to come, to be honest. But they have similar powers and what not."
She touched a finger to her lips, looking as though she was deep in thought, "Oh, yes, he was left deeply scarred because of the fact that he was abandoned, and although he may be able to get over this in the future, he is having difficulties at the present with being detatched from some sort of adult figure for any amount of time. He is quite the little Prince as long as you're near, but he sobs whenever you're away. And if he asks for his father... Well.. You'll think of something..." She smiled in a sort of apologetic way.
"I've got the book ready for this here lad." The grumpy old gnomish man came out, brandishing a book. "Ya got ta take good care 'a it. It will tell ye the events and what not that happen ta the lit'le 'en." With that he set it on the counter and hobbled back to the back of the store.

Fae opened her mouth to respond to Oddy when the grumpy little man stalked into the room and then stalked back out. She blinked twice, shifting Hassan in her arms, then turned back to Oddy with a sad smile. "Yes, I'll think of something. In the meantime..." She glanced at the little fairy. "This is Clarice, and I think she'll be a suitable companion for Hassan while he's getting adjusted. Not that I intend on leaving him alone while he's getting used to things... but she'll be a good constant for him." Fae grinned a little. "She's a sugar fairy. I thought it would be fitting and she agreed."

Oddy grinned, thoroughly pleased that the woman had had the insight to have a cute little companion for the boy. She then slipped the certificate into the cover of the book and winked. "If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask now. He should be discovering his powers relatively soon, so be prepared for that." She held out the book to her, using the arm that wasn't used to support the young one for so long.

Fae took the items and stuffed them into the beach-bag that served for her purse, then smiled and extended her hand to Oddy. "Thank you again. We'll come and visit often, of course. At least, we will as soon as he's ready. I dont know how long it will take him..." She looked at the little boy who was determinedly trying to catch the fairy, who managed to evade his little grasp.

Odyssey gladly took the womans hand, giggling slightly at the boy's vain attempt to catch the little creature. "Well, I am certain that he has a very warm, and loving home. We will be glad to see him once he's okay again. I am sure you will be a wonderful mother to him. Good luck!" With that she stopped shaking her hand and folded them atop the counter, a pleased expression painted across her face.

Fae grinned, finishing shaking Oddy's hand and using both arms to support Hassan. "Oof, you're a heavy one, aren't you?" The baby gurgled a bit. "Thank you. And you have my address, so feel free to drop by our home any time." With that, she cuddled the little boy, calmed the fairy a bit and headed out the door and towards home.
