Cao Cao stood, stroking his beard, in front of a messenger, outrage at the latest news from his spy in Yuan's forces. Here, in the new capital of Xu Chang, where Cao Cao moved the emperor to after the death of Dong Zhuo, he wondered what to expect of his childhood friends death. He had hated Shao, but death from an unknown force coming out of the rain itself. "Damn it!" Cao vented as he sat down again, slamming his fist onto his throne. "So Shao has passed before I could see him myself. A pity, the poor fool, for if this force has taken him, then it isn't looking for his money, which he probably would have gaven for his life."

The Prime Minister of the Han sat, not in the Emperor's throne, still allowing the child Liu Xie to benefit from Cao's greatness and protection, but in his own below the Emperor's floor. "Messenger, go and find any of my trusted officer's and tell them I shall have their head if they don't come here, NOW!!!" Shouting now to emphasize his need for assurance. If a new force came out of the rain, it is either from the Heavens or wise enough to hide. They knew something of warfare and were unknown to the rest of China, which wasn't a good thing. Cao wouldn't mind if they killed Liu Bei and his drunkard brother, but the sovereign still was hoping Guan Yu would aid the Wei path for peace. Furthermore, the sound of unique weapons bothered Cao. Until he had been counselled by Sima Yi and Gou Jia, Cao Cao waited, pondering further on this new threat.

Li Dian was bust studying charts of battle in his room, intently thinking of Wei's next move. Hopefully they could avenge Yuan Shao's death, yes, he had gone away from Lord Cao's beliefes, but they were still friends at one time. Strange invaders were spotted near Bei Hai at that time, they must have killed him. Li Dian woke up from his thoughts with a rap on the door, "Come in."

A messenger opened the door, and stuck his head, "Sorry to disturb you Lord Dian, but Master Cao has asked the servants to invite the officiers to his Grand Hall. Will you come?" the servant asked nervously. "Of course I will come at Lord Cao's command, let me make haste then."

Li Dian bolted out of the door, and hurried to the Grand Hall quietly but quickly. "My Lord, I have arrived as you asked, what did you desire my prescence for?" Li Dian gave a reverant bow to his Lord.

OoC:sorry for being late x_X

IC:Xu Huang was walking along the castle lugging his axe on his shoulder and was patroling the hallways and checking rooms for ruckesses (too bad Zhen Ji probably shares a room with Cao Pi ninja )

When Xu Huang was looking into some room the messenger came by and said to Xu Huang "Cao Cao requested your preseance will you respond?" "AHH!!" yelled Xu Huang. "Don't startle me like that!" "I am sorry sir but this is urgent! Cao Cao has a problem with a new growing army and he wants you to go to the Grand Hall right away!" the messanger said as he was running off to get to the other officers.

"I see, a new nation?" Xu Huang was standing there thinking. "Oh right! My lord!" Xu Huang was running back up the hall towards the Grand Hall

holy crap that reminds me... what are we gunna do about Zhen Ji and Zhang He they were on Yuan Shaos army...are they just going to magicly appear on our army after not even meeting them?
PostPosted: Thu Apr 13, 2006 6:36 pm

((At this point in history, fiction or real, Zhen Ji hadn't joined and married Cao Pi, also Zhang He was still to be on Shao's team for a year and a half. Zhao Yun is also with Yuan Shao's forces at this time. Those three characters don't seperate till the battle of Guan Do, which happens after Guan Yu joins Cao Cao's army for a little, Liu Bei joining Yuan Shao's, and Zhang Fei being a bandit in, I believe, Bei Hai.))

"Worthless..." Cao Cao mouthed as only a few loyal officers had come, the few being Li Dian, who was the first to arrive, followed by Xu Huang. Li Dian was more of a worker and not quite the most capable officer, especially in comparison to the likes of Gou Jia, who Cao Cao was waiting for, and Xu Huang, who was almost unparallelled in strength and determination. But, Li Dian was a good and loyal officer nonetheless, being knowing at least a dabble of everything. Xu Huang, on the other hand, came with Cao Cao's elite Qing unit, Cao Cao's personal soldiers so well versed in fighting, not many could stand a chance as the Qing tribesmen charged through battlefields, redeeming the honor lost when the Yellow Turbans lost.

"Until we actually have a strategist arrive, namely Gou Jia, Cheng Yu, or the Xun brothers, you two are to wait patiently. This is not the time for hearts of warriors and all that babble. We need a strategy against the newest army, and I am not sure a full charge, nor biding our time is worth any good to us. As Sun Tzu says, "Do not attack an enemy so far into invasion. They will be strongest, fighting for their lives. Wait till their food dwindles." But, if they are from Yuan Shao's army, revolters who took command, we must attain this important position for ourselves, being sure to have a back up supply in case they attempt to cut off our route."

Xu Huang raised his eyebrow. "My lord Liu Bei nor Sun Jian's forces have no chance..or even the slight care to take Yuan Shaos army what possible band of rogues and upstarts could possibly take out Shao's whole army"

"I for one suggest we send a spy...we need to see what we are up against maybe they have some useful stratigies that we can use ourselves, or how to defend against them."

((sorry if i said something(s) that are/is stupid and don't abide to the book i've only played the game and i hope to read the book some time...))

((Posting as other officers for now. If Joker doesn't come back, I'll RP as Cao Cao))

Twanging of arrows could be heard shooting and striking against a soft object from inside the castle. One of the messengers ran about, looking for other officers to tell the message to. The twang caught the attention of the messenger at that instant. The messenger knew who is was and ran for the courtyard. As he took a step out of the royal house's floor, a speeding twink shot at the messenger. A yelp of fear left the man shaking and wetting himself. His helmet that he wore before was now stuck into a wall by an arrow. With chattering teeth and twitching eyes, the messenger dropped to his knees with a fearful wail. The man who shot him with the arrow gave a hearty laugh while walking to him.
"Sorry 'bout that. I always LOVE to give a good scare!" the man smiled.
"M-m-master Xiahou Yuan....Lord Cao Cao wishes to see everyone i-i-i-in his court room...." The messenger studdered out.
Xiahou Yuan took a full spit at the ground to his left and wiped his lips with his left thumb.
"Alright, expect me there as soon as possible!" Yuan laughed while picking the helmet from the wall. He removes the arrow and puts it back into his arrow quiver with the other arrows. Soon as that, he places the helmet back on the messenger's head while slapping him on the back hard. With a final hearty laugh, Xiahou Yuan disappeared into the dark hallway. The messenger wasted no time and bolted away, looking for another Officer.

From a different courtyard, a large stern man sat by himself staring into a pond. The man was quite large and masculine, but at the same time fat. His cheek was rosey, saying that he was usually a happy man. But his face was covered by a meloncholy frown. He let out a huge sad sigh while gazing at the still water. He then looked to the sky and seemed like he was going to cry.
"Oh, Dian Wei. I'm so sorry. I should have been there along side you. You would have lived..." the large man let out in a goofy ignorant tone. A tear rolled down his cheek as he wiped it away with his right wrist. He gazed back down the pond and stared into the water. A leaf then blew by and landed upon where the man was staring. The sudden ripple created a figure next to the large man. The man was tall and stern and was quite bald. His eyes were fierce and his face was dark.
"Come on Xu Zhu! Stop staring at the fishes! You're never going to catch one by staring at it! Not even with that mug!" the bald man laughed.
"But they're purty Dian Wei," the fat man known as Xu Zhu said. The bald man known as Dian Wei stared with a surprised gaze at Xu Zhu.
"I didn't know you can even depict what's even good looking Xu Zhu! I thought food and Cao Cao was all you cared about."
Xu Zhu gave a happy dumb smile.
"These fishes are all so beautiful, yet it's sad to think that they are going to die some day." Xu Zhu grieved.
Dian Wei let out some air with a stern smile.
"Come on Xu Zhu! Stop being so poetic and come drink with me! After all, I'm going to go assist Cao Cao in making that no good Zhang Xiu surrender! Comparing to Lu Bu, he's just a pebble! So come celebrate with me a fight that is already decided." Dian Wei laughed.
Xu Zhu gave a smile and got up. "Can we eat some Bao Zhi too?" Xu Zhu asked like a child.
"Sure! When I get back, we'll eat LOTS of Bao Zhi and go looking at fishes together!"
and with that, Dian Wei's voice echoed out forever. Xu Zhu came back to reality, still sitting at the lake and staring.
"I was really looking forward to that day....but it looks like....it'll never happen now..." and with that, the large man broke out into tears and started bawling. He couldn't contain the tears now, thinking about his dearest friend. A voice then snapped Xu Zhu back to normal.
"Um....Master Xu Zhu? I may have come at a bad time, but Lord Cao Cao wants to see everyone at the court room...." a messenger slowly let out. Xu Zhu wiped the rest of his tears with his arm.
"That's right! Even though Dian Wei's gone, I still have Cao Cao! I have to protect Cao Cao for Dian Wei!" Xu Zhu said in his mind. The large man turned to the messenger with the goofy smile he always had and slauted to him.
"Don't worry about me. I'm heading over there right now!" and with that, Xu Zhu waddles off to go see Cao Cao.

Xu Huang was walking back and forth throughout the main hall then Xiahou Yuan and Xu Zhu came in *Xu Huang looks around* Is that all? ...No, where's Xiahou Dun? Xu Huang went back to walking back and forth and was starting to get impatient as his trotting became faster and faster it started to annoy Cao Cao.

Xiahou Dun sat in his room quitely thinking, stroking his goatee as he did so. He was so deep in thought that his one good eye was closed and he didn't hear the frantic knocking on his door. The messenger outside seemed terrified to go into his room, but also afraid of what would happen if he failed to bring Master Dun to Lord Cao Cao in time for the meeting. As he was wondering what to do he felt a finger tap him on the shoulder from behind. He looked over and noticed a woman who was in fact taller than he was! He was startled and said, "Oh, miss Ling, what can I do for you? Hey, Lord Cao Cao requests that all officers meet in the meeting hall at once, that includes you, but I can't seem to get the attention of Master Xiahou Dun. Can you help me?"

Xiao Ling smiled and said, "you can go now, I'll get him for you." The messenger bowed and walked away. Ling knocked on the door and when there was no answer she slowly opened it up. Upon looking inside she could see her mentor sitting on his bed in deep thought. She scoffed and walked in with heavy feet. "Master, it's time to go! Our Lord Cao Cao requests an audience with us!" Dun didn't move. She got right in his face and placed her hand on his left cheek. As soon as she touched him his eye opened up and he half smiled.

"Ling, you don't need to tell me twice. I am just gathering my thoughts on this new enemy and I hope to match my ideas with Lord Cao Cao on how to deal with them." He stood up, as he did so Ling stepped back twice, and he said, "Let's get going. Our lord will be angry with us if we are late." She nodded and followed after him all the way to the meeting hall. He made his way in and bowed as he did so to Cao Cao and said, "Sorry for taking so long, cousin." He rose up and took his seat. Ling bowed deeply to Cao Cao and smiled some, then took her seat next to Dun.

Xiahou Yuan stared at Xu huang as a marched back and forth. Waskind of a comical sight seeing that Xu Huang never seemed that worried. He was usually a calm man. Xiahou Dun and Xiao Ling soon came in and took their seat. Xiahou Yuan leaned towards them and smiled.
"Hey brother! Glad to see that you could make it! Huh huh," Xiahou Yuan laughed. Then he looked over to Xiao Ling and smiled.
"Xiao Ling! Glad to see you too! I'm guessing you dragged my brother here knowing him," Xiahou Yuan chuckled again. This time he was talking to both of them.
"Hey brother, what do you think is going on? I heard something about that lousy Yuan guy dieing or something like that."

Dun smiled at his brother and shrugged his shoulders slightly, "I am unaware of the situation with our Lord's old friend, but I do know that there is a new enemy here and they are attacking Xia Pi as we speak. Guan Yu should be able to hold them off, and this is a perfect opportunity for us to see how strong this enemy really is." He smiled and looked to his disciple, "Maybe you will get to fight a new foreign enemy."

Xiao Ling smiled and looked to her Uncle Yuan and half jokingly said, "I'm glad that I can be in the presence of the handsom Xiahou Yuan." She listened to what Dun had to say and nodded with excitement. She couldn't wait to test her strength against different people. She hadn't really gotten to see much battle, only a few skirmishes here and there but nothing too big. She was part of a reinforcement army for the siege on Hu Lao gate, but never got to even get close enough to see the might of Lu Bu, which was so legendary. "I can't wait, my lord." She said with a fire in her eyes and a grin on her strangely dainty lips.

"Enough! Leave your flatteries and insults for another day!" shouted Cao Cao, a little more irritated that Yuan Shao had been called "lousy Yuan guy" and that Guan Yu could become another number of dead heroes. "We are still of warriors and farmers instead of strategists and scholars! Either way, Dun, Yuan, as my cousins, I trust your insight and hope you have more valuable things to say than thoughts below the belt and above the knee!" He closed his eyes and walked toward the back wall where he placed his back against it and jerked his sword in front of himself.

"I'd rather we hurry and aid Guan Yu, where he might finally join us, than sit idly and wait for the minds. We shall do something soon, so cousins, speak quickly but don't say a word without thinking it over." He pointed to Li Dian. "And Dian, ready a battalion of horses, no questions." As a last thought, Meng De faced Xiao Ling. "Woman, remember every word, you are to fill in Dian if we move out."

Xiahou Yuan looked back at Cao Cao and stood at attention. Listening in on what Cao Cao said, helping Guan Yu wasn't a bad idea. Not only will they get in and save Guan Yu, making Liu Bei in debt to them, but it's a chance to find out who these guys were.
"Alright so we'll assist on the defense at Xia Pi right? But shouldn't we wait for Guo Jia? Maybe he'll have some insight to this." Yuan let out. Sure they could have just deviced a plan themselves, but Guo Jia could give them a definate decision.

Xu Zhu stood back and watched Cao Cao speak. He was wondering if he'll be needed for this battle. Taking Dian Wei's place now that he is gone, Xu Zhu stood forward.
"Lord Cao Cao. Can I be of assistance to you in this fight?" Xu Zhu asked with his dumb tone as usual.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 12, 2006 7:30 pm

"Yes, my Lord, they shall be ready well before we head out." Li Dian bowed lowly, to Cao Cao, and quickly rushed out of the room. He ran down the hallways until he burst out into the land in their beautiful kingdom. He rushed across the plains to the stable, where the attendants were just now feeding the horses lunch. "Attendants! Our Lord Cao Cao has asked for a battalion of horses to ready for battle, I trust you can prepare them well and issue the command to soldiers willing to ride into war on them!" Li Dian finished and watched the attendants rush around in haste, calling messangers to go to willing soldiers rooms to tell them of the order. Li Dian watched as they did, and satisified with their progress returned to the throne room slowly down the halls. Maybe he would bump into another officier here.

"Xu Zhu, I wouldn't have it any other way. I need you by my side now more than ever with this present threat. You are an unbelievable warrior, one of the strongest, healthiest men alive," Cao Cao said, remembering Dian Wei's death out of a ploy by weak bastards who could do nothing more than betray Cao himself. "For me to go into battle without you would be like sending a child to a massacre."

Cao Cao finished telling his body guard and returned to Yuan's comments. "Assisting Xia Pi would more than likely be for the best, unless our enemy is so strong as to wipe us out when we arrive. I would love to wait for Lord Gou Jia but hesitation is our current enemy. As we speak, the enemy is drawing closer and we don't know what we are up against. Lord Gou Jia would know what measures to take, I know it is safe to assume that he knows I won't wait and is furthering a strategy for us. Further more, this new foe probably thinks all the people in this land are stunned at the infiltration and death of Lord Yuan Shao, so they will be taking advantage of that, or at least I would." Cao Meng De thrusted his sword back to his side and opened his eyes. How cunning were these new antagonists, and was Wei capable of standing a chance? To ready to defend even when secure, Sun Tzu's words now were holding a firm grip on the situation. Gou Jia... You are not hesitating, I know. You are preparing, and I fear my ambition may take us to a far worse scenario. As long as you are our strategist, we can't lose, but where are you now... The Prime Minister of the Han's eyes now focused on his cousin Dun to hear his opinion.
