*First off, this isn't an attention whoring thread. There's a reason I'm mentioning my birthday*
So, my birthday was yesterday. I also despise it for reasons listed in my TK Ink. journal. (<- Planet's way of saying she's too lazy to type it) Everyone who knew it was my birthday (very few, mind you) constantly wonder why I'm never excited about. I can never get into my birthday, for reasons I've listed. This finally brings me to the point of this entire thread. Is there anything in your life that people expect you to be excited about, but you can't? (Rather short thread... ~.~ )

I agree 100% with you! I myself have never been excited about birthdays... or any holiday for that matter...
I think one of the reasons I dont really get excited about things anymore is because my friend sucks the fun out of all of it... She gets way too excited about holidays months in advanced so that by the time it comes around I'm feeling like "been there done that"...
I've never been excited about christmas because I've never believed in Santa. It's my sis's fault for trying to force it on us...
This year beeing in China my parents and sis were working most holidays... I never even noticed...
Gaia and its event like New Years and St. Val day was the only way I remember those holidays still exsisted(sp?)

I get what your saying. I'm not a fan of my birthday either, I just would like it if people just a PLAIN boring "Happy Birthday," but people make a big deal out of it.
Ya people expect me to be happy about certain holidays and all, but I'm not. Maybe because its just the same old thing everything year. People say "(Insert Holiday Greeting)" then go on with life, wheres the excitement. The only thing I like is Christmas because I finally get to see all my tight a** cousin that I only get to see about once a year.

Yea, I don't really get excited about my birthdays anymore. When I was a little kid, I would get excited, but not anymore. My mom is already telling me that I should get a bunch of freinds to come over to celebrate my 17th birthday and thats not til June 23rd. gonk sweatdrop I can't even imagine all of my freinds in one room at the same time without someone getting offended or something and a fight breaking out. . .

Well when I was little birthdays were important but I wasn't really excited about them.
Nowadays its just meh its my b-day wow is that a present. Thank you and thats it. Although it is a very good excuse to have some friends over xd

A little late coming, but again, a mild congratulations.
As for me, birthdays are a non-event, just as much as most holidays and other calendar points are non-events also. I just don't seem to have enough concern about them.
Although when I turned 21 the prior January, I did buy myself a cake (I'm allowed to indulge for that occasion). The thing lasted a whole week, even with sharing.
