For the second game is anyone just a little disappointed about the changes they made to the characters?
I've only seen the preview of the game they had on Cinematech(sp?),but I'm a bit disappointed.I don't like the way some of the characters have been changed from the first game.Though,there is nothing wrong with the way they look.
I just think they have been changed a little drastically.Especially Shion.All of them seemed to have changed in looks except for Ziggy.Ziggy still looks the same. sweatdrop
I like that they are making them more realistic,I just don't like some of the changes they have made...
Does anyone else feel somewhat the same?

Yup, I don't really like most of the changes either. The design changes started to grow on me, but I still think that most of the characters looked better in episode 1 with the exception of Jr. - he looks better for the most part though I still like the way his eyes looked in ep 1 better. KOS-MOS looks uglier for the whole first half of the game (it's really obvious that her original outfit was NOT meant to be worn by a normal-ish human), most people liked the changes to Shion, but personally I liked her better in ep 1. I miss the "plume" on chaos' head and MOMO looks bizare in normal-ish proportions (same with the Kirshwassers and all the other 100-series). Though one thing to mention is that the graphic quality during some cutscenes is much higher, I think the in-game graphic quality is actually a little lower than ep1, but that makes sense with the style change (more detail = less flat color = more texture maping = looks worse in game). Ziggy looks almost exactly the same, as do most of the NPCs. And if anyone's seen the "8mins 8sec" trailer for ep1 where Jin appears - I still think they should have kept him in hakama rather than just a kimono (you see waaay too much leg on him during a couple of the Jin x Margulis battles, and it just looks odd) though removing the glasses looks a little better.

I like some of the new looks but overall I don't like the characters looks in the first place in Xenosaga, I rather have anime style like Xenogears which is what got me hooked on Xeno but atleast their still making Xeno even if it does not have anime style.

Truth be told, I do feel a bit odd about the character design changes but it doesn't really bother me all that much. My favorite characters remain just about the same so I can't compalin (i.e., Ziggy, Albedo, Gaignun, Wilhelm, and suches) 3nodding . chaos, though... I can understand his design change a little. They just HAD to make him look a little more somber to better match his initial description. But neh, I liked the clothes from previously all too much... Er...yeah...okay.

I quite agree with almost all of ya.I don't like all the changes they have made.Especially what they did to chaos,Shion and so definetly KOS-MOS.I positively HATE what they did to her. stressed
I don't really like the changes to MOMO and Jr either.I liked the way they looked in Episode one a bit more than they do now.I really don't like their eyes.They aren't as open and big as they used to be.
And for Ziggy,Wilhelm,Albedo and the others,why didn't they change them?I mean,if you're going to change most of the characters why not at least change the others a little.Ya know?
I don't know what the characters look like in Xenogears,for I have never played it.Or heard of it much...for that matter... sweatdrop

At first, they were a big shock, but I've had over a year to get adjusted to the new look. Personally, I think they're a big improvement over the old designs. Although I'll always be fond of the original look.
The new is just so much better in all respects, imo. whee

I also wonder where Shion's glasses went.She must have gotten eye surgery or contacts since she doesn't have glasses anymore.Unless her eyes corrected themselves.But I dunno.*shrugs*

Once you see the characters in action you'll get used to them - just seeing screenshots and pictures seems to be really odd (when I first saw the screenshots I really didn't like the changes - but after watching the trailers a few too many times I sort of forgot that they had changed ^_^).
