Varian was going to drive her insane in a very short time, Aletea was certain. The little blonde boy was sitting on a bench at the moment, his expression and posture simply radiating superiority as he watched people walk by.

Taking a quick glance around, then at Varian, she decided on something.

"Varian, I have to go pick up some things - do you mind waiting here?" the child simply raised one scornful eyebrow at her, which she took as an affirmative.

"Ok, just stay here!"

And then she scurried off to go run her errand. Nobody was likely to bother Varian in such a crowded area, even if his superior attitude didn't scare them off.

The busy little street filled with shops was quite interesting, but Varian had to look somewhat strange. A small blonde child that made people do a double-take to check gender, wearing a white yukata.

Shiro was shopping around for a few things down the street. Maturin had wanted to stay home and practice his trumpet, and Zack REALLY didn't want to stay home around that, and preferred to run outside anyways, so he followed Shiro to the store. Now, though, he was sitting on the floor by the door, looking posatively bored! He thought this would be more exciting! More running and jumping involved...not so much....sitting...sitting was terrible...it was so...still and boring...

Shiro laughed as he noticed the other, and walked over to the spikey haired boy. "Hey Zack...you're old enough to walk around and stuff on your own right?" Zack's yellow eyes brightened, literally, as an enthused look brightened his face.

"Yeah! Of course!" He grinned, nodding. Shiro laughed and ruffled the static-ey hair.

"Alright. Stay in the area, and you can go out and play." He handed him a cell phone, which he immedietly put into his pocket as he jumped to his feet. "I'll call when I'm done."

"YAYTHANKYOUBYE!" Zack quickly let loose before jumping out of the store, literally.

Zack wandered around the streets, looking around, looking rather bright and enthusiastic at finally being out, and better yet alone! This was very exciting! He was practically skipping as he walked down the street.

After a moment, he noticed a blond boy..boy? girl? no...probably boy...looking a little younger then him, but still generally around the same age sitting alone on a bench. Wait, sitting alone? That's not good! Zack immedietly thought to keep the person company. He immedietly ran over, happily and jumped in front of the other, brightly.

"Hi! My name's Zack! What's yours? Who are you? Why are you sitting on a benh all alone? Do you like being alone? Would you like company? I'll keep you company if you want!" He immedietly sprang into conversation as soon as he handed in front of the person, waving brightly at first, before chattering on.

For a moment, Varian simply stared at the hyperactive child who had bounced in front of him. Shock that anyone would have the nerve to bother him, anger that someone would intrude on his personal space in such a rude manner and - well, he was just generally irritated. But that was just the way the little fae tended to be when other people were involved.

"Don't you have any concept of personal space?" The words were spoken in a demanding tone, and those blue eyes were narrowed at the larger boy.

The words themselves were rather eloquent for his age - but that was just the sort of person Varian was. Anything that made him appear more cultured and sophisticated then other people were things that he took full advantage of - such as language.

Zack completely disreguarded the tone of voice the other used on him. He seemed to remember someone who spoke the same way...he remembered it being some girl. Did he make a mistake? Was this person in front of him a girl? He remembered he met some girls who weren't like that one, but this person seemed to have a similar tone of voice...so maybe it was a girl thing. Oh well.

"Well, my brother's talked about personal space to me sometimes. Personal space is cool, I guess, but how can you have fun if people are all the way down there from you?" He just sort of waved his hand off in a general direction, casually, as he chatted with the other, not really feeling as if there was anything wrong in what he was doing, more just feeling like talking with someone...who hadn't really told him to go away just yet. Something occured to him.

"By the way, you never told me your name. I told you mine. My brother says it's common courtesy to give your own name when someone else offers theirs. Plus I'd like to know your name. It's easier to remember new friends when I remember their name. Name's are special things, y'know? I think names are interesting, do you think names are interesting?"

Wow...Zack seemed to talk a lot when he's happy.

Varian could just feel his lip curling in disgust as the other boy continued to yammer away. It seemed he'd have to be a bit more blunt to get his point across here, as Zack seemed completely oblivious to how Varain felt in this matter.

"Varian. And go away."

If the other fae had met him in some way that was less intrusive, and if he had been more sedate and polite - well, he might have been willing to carry on a conversation. But with what the vain fae saw as a breach of manners - just leaping into conversation and intruding on his personal space - automatically caused him to reject the other.

His sweeping hair slipped over his shoulder as he tilted his head to glare at the other boy, as if trying to make him go away through sheer intensity. On most people, it would work...but Zack hardly seemed like a normal person.

Zack huffed. Now why would, when Zack had started the conversation, this Varian had continued the conversation with a question, which obviously kept the conversation going and now he was saying go away. Most people he met either liked him, or told him to go away straight off. He hadn't really encountered too many sarcastic people before, which might explain this. Well! The way that this Varian was looking at him, it didn't seem like this person was very happy. Unknowing that it was him that was causing the other's anger, he decided to try and make the other person happy.

"You don't seem very happy Varian. Nice name, by the way. Sounds...exotic or something. I dunno, but it's nice. Are you a generally happy person, Varian? You should smile, see." He grinned broughly. "Smiling is good! Makes you all happy inside. What makes you smile? Do you like to hang out with your friends? Playing in the park? Playing in the park always makes me happy! You should be happier, Varian, give big smiles!" He laughed from his own enthusiasm as he continued to chatter onwards.

Varian could feel himself becoming more and more frustrated with this other boy - though if he had bothered to think about it, the comment he made was true: he wasn't exactly what you could call happy. This other boy - who had yet to introduce himself - had barely slipped out of his happiness at telling him to go away.

"Of course it's a nice name. Do you even have one?" This was spoken with that irritation and a slight bit of haughtiness as he eyed the other boy. The fact that Zack had yet to introduce himself, simply proved (in Varian's mind, anyway)that he didn't have much in the way of manners. But seeing as how the other was so persistant, it was unlikely he'd get him to go away.

All the same, that didn't mean the little blonde fae had to be friendly.

((Hehe, don't be offended by Varian...he'll be like this with pretty much everyone >.>;; ))

Zack laughed, finding this Varian quite interesting. Seeing as Zack hadn't gotten to know all that many people in his life, he hadn't quite met anyone like this guy before.

"Why, I did introduce myself! When I first showed up, if you remember correctly." He giggled. "I remember running over, jumping in front of you and saying; Hi! My name's Zack. And then started asking you questions and stuff. Do you have a short term memory? I know someone who has a pretty unstable memory. It's funny. Do you always act this way to everyone? Hmn...Do you have any friends? Do you want to have friends? Wanna be friends with me?"

Zack continued to babble on, really asking whatever just happened to come to mind, seeming to find solace in just babbling on with this complete stranger, the most he really knew about him was his name. But! Zack was trying to remedy this.

Varian paused for a moment. The other had introduced himself? Well...he was probably too appalled by someone just babbling on that he had missed it - or Zack had spoken too quickly for him to catch it. The vain fae refused to even consider what the older boy had suggested - that he had a short-term memory - or that he wasn't paying attention. He was quite happy to lay all the blame on Zack.

Though now it seemed that Zack wasn't quite as rude as he had thought. He was still rude, yes, but not as extreme. That still didn't mean that the blonde wasn't irritated, however. Honestly, the constant stream of words coming from Zack just seemed to run together, until it looked almost like those blue eyes were glazing over.

Snapping himself out of that, his increasing irritation was showing quite nicely on a rather sour expression. Having already tried - and failed - to make Zack go away through a few different methods, he decided to attempt another: walking away.

So he hopped up off the bench, and strolled over to the art gallery that happened be right by there. His logic was that if Zack did follow him, he'd probably get kicked out for making too much nosie. Then Varian could enjoy himself, as he really cared little about Aletea telling him to stay there.

Of course, he'd forgotten about one thing: art galleries didn't tend to like children walking around unsupervised. If Zack was thrown out, Varain was likely to be as well.

Zack watched as Varian hopped off the bench and started towards the art gallery. He frowned lightly as he realized that the younger boy had run off without answering his questions! He didn't even say anything to him to acknowledge that he had even talked to him! This boy was a bit rude. Or at least in Zack's opinion.

He watched as he walked over to the art gallery before deciding to follow him. He'd never really been to too many quiet type places, although as he entered the magnificent place he realized that this place was sort of like that library he'd been to a while ago. Someplace where they told you to hush and be quiet if you spoke to loudly. Well then, he'd just have to lower his voice a little bit then, wouldn't he?

He dashed over to catch up with Varian until they were walking side by side. He turned to the other, and leaned in before whispering lightly to the other. "Have you been here before? Should you really be running off like that? Since you were sitting on that park bench doesn't that mean you were waiting for someone?" He paused, watching the people pass by before continuing his questions. "If you were waiting for someone did they say it was alright for you to wander off and stuff?" He murmured in a surprisingly quiet voice.

It was true that Zack was a hyper little talkative ball of energy, but he hated being pushed around and thrown out of stuff even more. He remembered getting thrown out of the library the first time he was there. Shiro had scoulded him pretty well and Maturin beat up on him too. They quickly lectured Zack on what he should do if he ever found himself in one of those quiet places. They forcibly taught him how to speak quietly and not in long streams when he was in these places or he'd quickly get bossed around by some stiff old person and more then likely kicked out. Arg how he hated being pushed around!

He looked around the art gallery. Even though he had to be quiet in here...it looked nice.

Simply leaving without answering questions was most certainly rude - but the little fae would simply respond with something along the lines of desperate situations calls for desperate measures. And of course, he had a standard for everyone else and a different standrad for himself.

Varian wasn't certain whether to be irritated or mollified that Zack had quieted down. At least he was more bearable at this volume...so he chose to fall somewhere inbetween,

"My guardian will know where I am," was the first murmured response the blonde gave. And it was true - after seeing that he was gone, Aletea would likely assume he'd gone into the art gallery. She'd be irritated with him, and scold, of course - but he was already able to tune that out into a slightly annoying buzz.

And next, he fixed an appraising eye over the older boy as he continued to speak bluntly in that quiet tone, "I hadn't realized you could be quiet."

Of course, he had only know the boy for a short time, but he didn't bother to factor that into his appraisal.

((I'm sorry for how slow I've been. I've been coming home from school so tired lately. I'm sorry))

Zack squeaked a bit as he tried to refrain himself from bursting out laughing at the other's comment about him being quiet. Personally, it surprised him himself that he could be this quiet.

"Well...I hate being pushed around and stuff...so my older brother...sorta...Maturin taught me how to talk quiet...'cause he's a quiet person."

He paused as he looked around some more, looking out for guards, making sure to keep his voice extra low when around them. He had no idea that they could get in trouble just for being children and walking around and stuff. He was only worried about talking and messing up the exhibits and stuff. He looked around and noticed some of the paintings and statues.

"Hey...this place is really nice. Do you come here often? I like it in here. Those paintings are pretty. Don't you think they're pretty?" He murmured lightly, grinning at the sights around him. He had seen painting before, sure, but Zack was easily impressed, so he grew extremely excited from everything around him.

((It's alright ^.^))

Varian was beginning to feel more and more off balance, as Zack went further from what he had been expecting. He hadn't known him long, but already he had formed a firm opinion of the older boy - that he would be loud and not care about anything in the gallery. But he wasn't acting like that...

So he just gave a muttered response, confused. "Yes, it's pretty.." Well, at least the blonde wasn't being outrightly hostile now, "And yes. Or at least, to places like this."

Though truthfully, he hadn't been to this specific gallery before. There were a couple that actually didn't mind him being there, as he was there often enough they knew him. And unluckily for the two children, a worker had just spotted them - and wasn't of the opinion that children should be in a gallery, much less without supervision.

The man didn't say anything at first, merely glowering down at the two children.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 17, 2006 5:53 pm

Zack seemed completely oblivious to the worker, though. He really could only keep up with paying attention to a few things at a time, and this new museum place was taking in a lot of his attention. Also, his attention had to focus on keeping his voice down so he didn't notice the other at all.

"Wow. This place is really nice. Does your parent guardian figure person bring you to these places a lot? I should bring Maturin here. I bet he'd like it here. Woah, that's cool." He murmured as he pranced over to an exhibit and stared at it with wide yellow eyes, grinning.

Varian was honestly beginning to find difficulty in keeping up with the rate at which Zack spoke and changed topics. Though the vain little fae had begun to respond with a yes, before he noticed the worker who was glowering at them. He could already tell that they were going to be kicked out - he'd had some experience with people who didn't like children being in these sorts of places.

Almost automatically, his expression shifted to a more haughty and arrogant one, and he somehow seemed to be looking down his nose at the worker. Despite the fact that he was more then a foot shorter, he still managed it.

"Children shouldn't be in here!"

Was the hushed yet angry voice that scolded them. Already, the worker was making shooing motions towards the door, making his intent obvious.
