He is one of my favortie authors and all his books give me nightmares. IT made me afraid of clowns. The movie adaptations of his books are freaky. He has a four-part series of one of his book series this summer. I can't remember which one, but I know it's not the Dark Tower series. My only issue with the movies, is that the remakes suck balls. I loved the original versions of The Shining and Salem's Lot. The remakes aren't very believable. I think a lot fo it has to do with the director. Rob Lowe was great in The Stand, but really sucked in the remake of Salem's Lot. And if anyone other than Stanley Kubrick had directed The Shining, it would not have been as good as it was.

My fave books by Stephen King are;
'Salem's Lot The Shining Needfull Things Carrie 4 Past Midnight (Or specificly, the story "The Longoliears").
All his books are very well wrighten, displaying perfectly the mystery, and psycology of each character. Especialy in "Needfull Things", I love how each character is shown to have their own unique belifes, attitudes and ambiatians and how the store owner manipulates their minds against them.

Stephen King, Is king. He is the King of horror, he is a great author and movie person. The most scary I thought was IT or Pet Semtary. Both scary. I now fear clowns. Thank you very much, but when I goto the circus, I bring erasers to throw at them. I think Stephen King is a very good person. I heard from my dad that when he wrote Pet Semetary he never wanted to show anybody, he was upset with himself. Cause it was so scary. Go figure.

He also sleeps with a night light on. Which is hot!! I used to because IT made me afraid of the dark. Needful Things is my favorite book-turned-movie of his. Max Von Sydow rocks so much.

Max Von Sydow rocks so much. Wow, I never knew that. But if I ever have to do one of those famous peoples thing for school, I am definetly doing him... That made me sound gay. Let me rephrase that. I am definetly going to be him for the famous peoples thing.

I like Rose Red and It. My favorites,though, are Salem's Lot and Misery. I like the updated Salem's Lot movie better than the old one. What does anyone else think? I also thought Dan Byrd was hot. lol, that's just my opinion.hehe rofl

I like his writing. But it differs a lot. Sometimes it's quite excellent and at other times it's... blah.
Personally I like Desperation and The Stand.

I've never read 'IT' but i know i hate clowns so i really want to get it, just to have nightmares. Also, 'The Shining' is my all time King book and although Kubricks adaptation was a great film, i don't believe it was true to the novel. He added parts and took parts out, and well, some of the characters were NOT as i'd imagined them when i'd read them, like...they weren't how i thought they'd be from what i took from the book.... Each to their own though...

i too am a fan of King though i am not a avid reader i own about maybe 8-11 of his books and only completed ONE...withen a year....yeah it was Dark Tower I, it is a great novel and im still on the second one, ive read most of Salem's Lot that i basicly stole from the city libary in 2002 along with the Shining. I got Insomia which is a good novel too that i got hardcover for .99 cents. The i notice about King that i really makes me zone out while reading his books is that he explains everything with words i dont understand and he does it forever. Pet Semetary is a great horror film, IT is a great horror film, Salem's Lot was a great horror movie i believe the remake was closer to the novel though they dident really make the vampire or any other vampires in the movie really scary. King knows fear. He says he gets his ideas when he's in the shower. Which i kind of do myself cause the shower seems the only place you get time to yourself but most of my ideas come from my nightmares...the dream will be scary but when i wake up im like "that'll make for a good movie or something." but i dont write anything down.

Anyone hear about his short story The Mist becoming a movie?
For me, I love King's short stories. They're addicting.

I only actually started reading King novels this September; I finished Insomnia and instantly went into OMG phase and bought It, which I'm loving so far (kinda spoiled bits of it for myself by watching the movie first, though >_>).
Definitely going to buy more of his stuff, but I can't decide what I want to read after It omg <3
