~*~ POST OF RULES ~*~
Okay, so this is how this little game goes, I post something, a story begins, then the next person continues it on. Don't post more than a paragraph, though. This is more of a game than a story, but it's about all I know how to do for writing. Between this an one of my essays for litterature class, I think most would prefer this. Feel free to make your own games, too. Enjoy, and let the story begin!!!

As I got to the corner of the street, I saw Jenny standing waiting for me. I made sure nothing would fall out of my bag, and then I ran up to her.
"Anything new?" I said.
"No, same as always," Jenny said as she rolled her eyes, "Let's just get it over with ok?"
We walked along down the street, till we got to an alleyway in between two buildings.
"You first," Jenny said.
I started into the alleyway with Jenny following.

Jenny stops. I look back at her.
"Oh come on Jen." I say.
"This doesn't feel right." She says, staring into the alley.
"Jen, aren't you tired of all this 'same old, same old'? This is our chance to get a bit of change around here, don't you want that?"
"Well, maybe things aren't supposed to change. I mean, its not like there's anything bad about the same old things. At least we know they're safe." She says inching back.
"Jen, you don't have to be afraid of things you don't know. There's nothing wrong with change."
Shakes her head.
"No, we can't. It's too dangerous."
"Jen.."
"No. I won't do it, and neither should you." She says, truning and beginning to walk away. I just stand there. She takes one look back at me. I shake my head. She looks down drearily, and walks off.

I stood there, hesitant, unsure of what I should do. I couldn't help but think, 'what if something goes wrong...' I trembled as a gust of wind came my way, and rubbed my shoulders. I wanted security... but I needed something more...
Turning from Jen's disappearing shilloette, I began to walk down the alleyway where I knew my fate would be awaiting my arrival...

((Okay dokie...let's have a go >It was like I'd stepped into a different dimension or era. I scanned the new area, looking down at my feet that were just on the border line. Ahead was damp, dirty and grey. A thick humid smell flooded and filled my nostrils as I pressed forward. Turning back the vision of sparkling bright cherry street slowly faded as I walked my pace speeding up. It was disappearing like a dream that you strain to remember. You know it's there, but it's just stubbornly lurking at the back of your mind. I jerked as an unknown energy took over and violated my now shuddering body. Something, somewhere was telling me to go away...

Hehe, this story is getting good! I shall add just a little bit to it.
I looked around once again to see if there was anything or anyone in sight. But it was so dark I couldn't see a thing. I stepped forward into the unknown darkness...
"Oww! Hey that hurt!"
"Wha? Who said that?" I questioned as I looked around.

"I did!" The voice was sharp and impertinent, as if the answer was obvious. It wasn't.
"That's real helpful." I began to push my hands out in front of me, and thought better of it; I really didn't want to poke this kid's eye out - it had to be a kid. "Look, I can't see anything, I don't even know where I am."
"Well, why didn't you say so?" There was a scuffling of feet, and cloth; and then a musky orange light began to burn. It was sputtery at first, and the person holding it muttered something, and despite the smoggy air, it grew bright enough to illuminate the area.
I wasn't in an alley any longer, but something more feral. Behind me, sure enough, there were the edges of buildings; but around where I stood there were great trees blocking out any kind of light coming from them. Some weeped with branches, others hung with thick moss. It was hard to tell what time it was. Probably night. I wasn't sure.
The person I had bumped into was a kid, at least, he was short enough to be one...

"Where am i?" I ask. The kid laughs.
"Are you on drugs or somethin'?" He says back.
"Hey!"
"Sorry, sorry, only foolin'. But what's a girl like you doing out by yourself? It isn't safe."
"Isn't safe, what do you mean?"

The kid shifted uncomfortably, pulling at his pockets.
"Look", he muttered under my looming presence, "I have to get going. You should go to, I mean, it's only a matter of time before they're out. If they catch you, oh, you won't like it then! They'll do stuff to you, you won't be the same, not you, and then, you'll be like them!!!" His voice ended shrill in the dull fog.
Then he was silent, just looking at me as if expecting me to change before his eyes.
The light flickered, and he gasped.
"They're coming!" He exclaimed in a dull whisper. "Quick, we must go, it's now or never!"

The kid pulled me into an incredibly small crack in the building wall and proceded to shove me through it.
"Ow! Hey, where are we going?"
"Shhh!!!" he sushed me quietly. I heard footsteps and held my breath.
"They were just here!" a gruff voice said.
"The boss is not gonna like this!" another calmer voice said. I heard a crash and shrank farther back into the crack.
"What'd you do that for?" the calm voice said.
"It's enough of a pigsty already! One flower pot doesn't matter..." The voices receded. I let out a breath and pushed us both out of the hole.
"Who were they? Who's their boss? Hey, what are you doing?" the kid was packing some shiny things into a backpack.
"One, call me Mike, two, pack anything you see. We have to get out of here and you're coming with me."

I did what Mike said, feeling scared of this world I had stumbled into. Where was I? Who were those people? Could I ever get back to my life before? Or was I already in the repetitive life and I was mearly dreaming? Then, as if my thoughts had a mind of their own, they went in a different direction, one that scared me even more. What if I had been dreaming and this was the reality?
"If I told you I lost my memory, will you explain everything to me?" I asked as I picked up a sparkling stone that had been half covered by dirt from the flower pot.
