The old lecture hall used by the monks has been converted into a nursery for young kitsune. Outside, the entrance is raised a short distance off of the ground, with a few stone steps leading up to it. As with the main hall, a veranda runs around the outside of the building. The building itself is made mostly of wood that has been painted in shades of red and black. Inside the building there are a number of rooms separated by sliding doors constructed from bamboo and rice paper. The first room is simply an entrance corridor, with sliding doors on each side. The sliding door on the right hand side leads to a slightly messy, rumpled looking room. Chewed blankets are strewn about the floor along with a number of various toys. There are two large wooden chests located near the back of the room to hold additional toys. An observant onlooker might note that there is nothing that can be easily broken in the room.
The floor is made up of dark, laquered wood and the walls have been painted in a simple fashion. There are a number of woven hangings on the walls, but these have all been located high up where they cannot be reached by small creatures. This is where the kits spend their time playing.
The other room has a large number of comfortable cushions, furs and blankets scattered around. Similarly to the other room, there are a couple of large chests located at the back of the room. These contain toys suitable for children, as well as a number of simple children's books. The furnishings in this room appear considerably less chewed. Once a kit has grown enough to be able to maintain a humanoid form, he or she usually prefers to spend time playing in here.

Ooc: I hope no one minds me making a first post here. ^_^
The kitsune that was currently crouched between two toy boxes in the nursery, allowing shadows to hide his form, would, at first sight, have been considered shy. Of course, if one got to know him they'd realize that he had a gregarious and happy nature, with nothing even close to shy within his personality. It was merely his like of the shadows, his love of remaining hidden that kept him where he was and gave the impression of being timid. The small kit yawned lightly, his bright eyes, almost bright red in colour, roamed the area, picking up every detail. Definitely inquisitive, he was currently battling with the desire to go romping around and the security of his shadows. Although he was yet to learn how to bend them to his will, he still felt more at home within them than in the bright light.
Another yawn, his eyes squeezing shut as he opened his mouth wide, showing off pearly white teeth. Snapping his jaws shut, he waggled his tail, paws scrabbling idly at the lacquered wood floor. Eventually, a grin plastered itself on it kitsune face and he rose from his position to stretch and then lope forward into the middle of his room. The first item of play was a bright brown and yellow teddy, once lovingly stitched but now falling apart from use. The young creature fell upon it, tearing and ripping, obviously delighted by the game. What game? In his mind he was battling a ferocious bear, his strong teeth puncturing through the bears skin and muscle, blood filling his mouth and running down his throat as they fought.
Eventually he let the bear fall from his grip, lifted a hind leg to scratch at his ear and then yawned again. His tail flopped idly behind as he wandered over to a pile of blankets and fell upon it. Gathering the edge of a blanket in his mouth he began to chew, while his eyes continued the earlier sweep of the room. Now he was out in the open and happily chewing, one could see that his fur was a tan colour, with darker marking running along his back and tail, while making his paws appear as if they had been dipped in chocolate. Named Masakazu Kisho, Masakazu for his father Masa, and Kisho for some distant relation, little Kisho was to grow up to be a void kitsune.
Happily resting on the blanket pile, Kisho waited and hoped for some others to come and join him. There were only so many times he could defeat the bear, as his attention span was somewhat small at times. Another yawn, more from boredom than tiredness, his head falling between his paws, while his ears twitched in wait.

Ren's ears lay flat against his head as he was scooted gently into the play room, pacifying reassurances were spoken to him in vain. But Ren still did not trust this strange new place, no matter how much they tried to convince him.
Then again, everything was new to him right now. Ren yelped in panic when he saw the door slide shut while he was momentarily distracted. He scrabbled desperately at the firmly closed opening for a few moments before giving up, defeated.
Cautiously, Ren sat back on his haunches and regarded the room with barely restrained curiosity, ears twitching to and fro. Soon, he could take it no longer, and was dashing about the room, sniffing at every corner and crevice he could find.
Ohhh, toys everywhere! A ripped up bear? Hey, what was that?! The kit's wandering thoughts became focused on something else entirely.
Clattering none too stealthily behind the nearby toy boxes, Ren observed with great interest, a seemingly asleep kit. The other kit was half-hidden in a pile of blankets Ren had yet to investigate, and thus had not noticed.
Being the first time he had ever seen another kitsune his age, Ren stay crouched behind the toy box, watching carefully for what the other kitsune might do next. But upon seeing the other kits twitching ears, a mischievious gleam came into the flame-striped kit's brilliant green eyes. This could turn out to be great fun

Isara, quietly lying nestled amongst a pile of cushions and covers, stirred from her light sleep. Her nose twitched and ears swivelled in the direction of the two young kitsune who had made their way into the nursery. Her small mouth stretched wide as she yawned, her throat emitting a soft, lazy whine. She got to her feet, stretching out her limbs one by one, her lean frame pulling the muscles taut, stretching out the wrinkles of sleep.
Sticking her head up above 'her' pile of cushions, she surveyed the room to get a better look at the two who had recently arrived. One, smaller than she was, flitted around the edges of the play area, his warm fawn pelt bright where he lay curled in blankets and pillows similar to her own.
Perhaps he was playing a game with the other, blue and fire-marked cub who had yelped loudly, waking her up? Probably not, she decided. Although, the blue cub, another male, seemed to have gained a playful look to him.
Tilting her head to one side, her twilight blue eyes searching for a flicker of recognition, she took a tentative step forward. Half sliding on the plush material of the warm cushions, she moved further forward, swishing her tail lightly in a friendly gesture to these two whom she realised, by now, that she certainly did not know.

Pools of liquid amber calmly watched the 3 other kits in the distance from the young female's current location next to the large wooden chests situated at the back of the room.
It was relatively dark back here since the sliding door as well as the windows at the side allowed barely enough sun into the room so as to keep it cool during the warmer summer months. A perfect cover for a kit like herself even though her mainly reddish brown pelt was probably more than enough to allow her to blend somewhat into her surroundings and remain unnoticed.
With her eyes still focused intently upon the other kits, Yae turned her head towards the chest on her left and gave it a good sniff. She didn't want to be here. Not this room when she could be outside playing in the gardens and near Mother Earth herself.
Her appointed guardian in the temple had brought her here first thing in the morning despite her whining. What did he know about her needs anyway? Yae knew what she needed. She needed to be close to the dirt ground. The soil. The giver of life to all the beautiful greenery that she so loved.
Here in this room however, Yae felt trapped... and alone. And the thought of being in the presence of not 1 but 3 other kits whom she had never met before only terrified her all the more...

Ever since Ren had entered the room, Kisho had been aware of his presence. Too bad he had been too busy with his play earlier to notice the presence of the two females that currently lurked at the edge of the playroom. Ears twitching as he listened to the other male kit scamper around the room, the little void kitsune peeked one reddish eye out from beneath his blankets. He couldn't see much, but at least this way he got a glimpse of the blue furred kit that kept darting energetically around. Snuggled up so warmly, Kisho was quickly becoming rather fond of the idea of sleep. After all, he'd just spent a lot of time fighting a bear, and running around just as wildly as this new kitsune was doing now.
Eventually there was no more scampering and Kisho lost sight and sound of the kit completely. At least his nose was still working. The musky kit scent was in the air, and he snuffled as it a bit, finding to all very interesting. But he still couldn't see the kitsune, and not seeing someone was extremely boring. Fighting off his earlier sleepiness, the little kitsune shuffled his head around slightly to try get a better view of the room. No male came into view, but instead a pale furred female standing off to the side. That meant there was now two unknown kitsune in the room, and Kisho's natural curiosity demanded that he make their acquaintance.
Kisho clambered to his feet, struggled free of the blankets and gave a happy yip. Glancing around he caught sight of the male who had been behind him. That blue furred male had a very playful look that had Kisho thinking that if he would have been in for a good pouncing had he stayed resting a moment longer. Now completely free of the constraining blankets, Kisho shed his sleepiness completely and fought the urge to go running around again. Tail wagging furiously, the companionable creature crouched, a look just as mischievous as Ren's had been lighting up in his eyes. If he could gain a good tussle, a bit of licking and ear pulling, he would be a happy and contented kitsune.

Ren was slightly put-out as he found himself discovered by the other kit, as well as a light colored female who had appeared from yet another pile of blankets and pillows and another female, red-brown in color, who was sitting solitary nearby.
As Ren brought his attention back the the kit he had set eyes on earlier, he noticed a similar glint alighting his dusky red eyes, as Ren's own had done earlier. The other it seemed to be prepared for a fight, crouched back and tail wagging. With only a slight wiggle of his rump (and the obvious excitement in his eyes) to give him away, Ren flew through the air, collided with the male and sent them both into a wild, tumbling spin across the floor. Ren bit and nipped playfully at the other kit, in an effort to get on top and gain some leverage on his opponent. But alas, he was still somewhat disoriented from his flying leap and tumble. Thus, he soon found himself pinned at the bottom. Ren, not to be discouraged, did not give up the fight so soon. The play went on until all thoughts of victor were erased from his mind and it was nothing but simple fun. Nonetheless, in the end he found himself immobilized by hysterical, giggling yips that burst forth against his will. Alright, so maybe the Nursery wasn't so bad after all!
OOC: I apologize for any mistakes. (Gaia needs spellcheck!) Hope I'm not being an utter action hog, Ruri!

Isara watched, briefly, as the two males tussled over the dark, wooden floor, bumping and tussling against each other in a frenzy of playfighting. Isara wasn't too keen on the thought of so much rough and tumble so early in the morning and so moved to go back to her comfortable pile of pillows. Just as she turned to find the same warm and comfortable spot she had just vacated she spotted the small reddish brown pup. This pup seemed a lot more reserved and also didn't seem keen to join in the male's games.
Isara, tail wagging once again in a friendly manner, walked slowly towards the other cub in a non-threatening manner, her small claws clacking on the floorboards as she did. She could smell this other was female, now, as she got closer. She let out a soft inviting half-yip, her tail swishing, and sat down with a light thump a few metres away from this earthen coloured pup.
Isara's small furry head tipped to one side inquisitively as she looked at this pup. She could smell the scent of outdoors on her and a slight undertone of nervousness. She vaguely wondered why a kit in this place would feel so unsafe as to be nervous or scared. She yipped again. Maybe this one in front of her would be her friend?

Young Kisho was actually kind of surprised by the attack. Even if he'd been ready for it, he'd been expecting to make the first move, not this funny little blue kit. Either way, a game of tussle was about to ensue, and Kisho was glad for it. A small yip of delight escaped from his throat, as he braced his paws against the ground in preparation for his attack. When Ren hit, the two toppled over into the piles of blankets and pillows, yipping and mock growling, biting at each other.
The void kitsune strained against his new a enemy, battling to get a grip on the ground and push himself into a more advantages position. Biting perhaps a little too hard than necessary, though not hard enough to draw blood, Kisho tumbled his way the top. Triumph! But the fun wasn't going to end there. Ren continued to struggle, tumbling them over again, reverting the battle for ascendency into a less strenuous tussle.
Flinging himself over, Kisho grabbed Ren's tail in his mouth, tugging happily.

Ren wagged his tailed contentedly--or rather tried to with it being currently stuck in the other kitsune's mouth. The brief flash of excitement and furiousness had calmed to but a quiet, half-hearted fight.
Ren found himself panting in the stuffy heat of the room, but felt this as a comfort. He had always liked it this way. The cold brought back memories he would rather keep distant. He knew as well, that part of it was his natural ability that made him hate any temperature below freezing.
The flamed kitsune flopped over onto his side and allowed the dusky kitsune to continue the game of tug-of-war with his tail. Ren let out a teary-eyed yawn, his teeth snapping together with a quiet click at the finish. He tucked his face snugly into his soft furry chest and a purring snore erupted from his throat.
In his half-doze Ren's sensitive ears picked out the sound of distant chanting voices that filtered through the delicate walls. The sound was a soft and steady rhythm, and he felt his lids sink lower as he let it lull him into a deeper doze.
It was then he realized how very beautiful his home was, and how much he wanted to be here forever. To have a life here, to make new friends, to have a family of his own. Someday.
Then, with a wide grin, Ren unexpectedly leapt up from his lounging spot and forcibly reclaimed his abused tail. Seconds later the tables were turned, and Ren was yanking smugly at Kisho's ears.
Hehehe. The surprise attack *always* got 'em!

The young kitsune sat on the floor amidst the toys, cushions and blankets, happily chewing (and occasionally tugging) on his new tussle buddy's tail. There was nothing like a bit of happy chewing, as it tended to make Kisho a very contented little guy. He shifted slightly; his own tail flipping while his muddy looking paws reached out in an awkward little stretch. When he'd first come here he would admit to being nervous, though definitely cheery at the prospect of meeting others of his own kind.
The warm room was nearly enough to send him to sleep; in fact he closed his eyes in a light doze more than once, though he never did let up his gentle chewing. The soft closeness of the fire cub beside him, the heat of the room, and the sleepy contented feeling that was stealing up on him; all reminded him of the his mother, who was never far from his memory, even though details of her were vague. The image of her, the feeling of her, was something that made him happy, sad, and filled him with longing.
After yawning the kit once again clamped down on the tale, his eyelids slowly lowering over his red eyes. Then came the sneak attack! Hey, wasn't that what dark type kitsune were supposed to be doing? A startled Kisho let out a small sound at the back of his throat of surprise. He didn't put up much of a fight, though he did scrabble at Ren with his paws a little and attempted to get his ear back but to no avail.
Soon he was lying up against Ren just as comfortably as before, though this time it was his ear getting a beating rather than the other kits tail.
Ooc: We could probably end this around now... well our part at least, the females could keep rping. Or we could still rp... I just can't see much more happening here.

((So sorry for the uber late-ness of this posty everyone..! T-T))
Yae had been simply content with watching the other kits in the room go about their tussle or whatever activity that fancied them at that point in time from her spot at the back of the room. It looked fun if the looks on both male kits' faces were anything to go by, but Yae's mind was too preoccupied with more pressing matters at the moment for her to pluck up what little courage she possessed to approach them and join in.
Things like when she would be let out of this place so that she could be out in the garden again. It was perhaps the only place in this Nogitsune sanctuary that she felt most at ease at.
What the young reddish-brown kit hadn't been counting on happening was being spotted by yet another kit. It was only when Isara let out a soft and friendly half-yip that Yae finally realized that there was a third kit in the same room and that very same kit was now seated barely a stone's throw away from herself.
Amber orbs blinked once and then another time as Yae's young mind began to process this little piece of information that had just been made available to her. She knew she had to run but to where?
The reddish-brown kit pondered as amber orbs surveyed the room time and again before coming to rest upon the young female who had approached her. The other kit looked kinda friendly. Not at all like someone who would bite in fact. Maybe... just maybe... she should quell the instinctive urge to run just this once.
Yae decided inwardly before letting out a soft yip that was almost akin to a squeak in response to Isara's call.

((Ahh s'ok ^^ everyone's been busy. Quick posteh from me~))
Isara sensed the others wavering confidence and tried her best not to look threating but to look friendly. She dipped her head in a slightly submissive manner, wiggling her white rear up in a play pose. She just wanted to have fun - if perhaps not the kind the tussling males were having.
She thought for a moment. If this one smelled of garden and wanted to leave.... perhaps she wanted to go out into the garden? Isara looked up, padded a few steps towards the door then padded back to the reddish brown kit. Miming her intention, she hoped the other would come with her, perhaps lead her to where she wanted to go?
Isara wasn't truly found of the outdoors but she had spied some flowers from a window and quite liked playing under the pretty pink spring flowers.

Ren let out a yawn, dropping Kisho's ear in the process. He felt the day coming to an end. The sun was down to a soft red glow, and was barely peeking through the vast treetops. This effect made the room glow the same color, as though it were a dimly lit paper lantern.
He gave a small grin to his companion, and with one last huffing sigh, he at last drifted off into a greatly needed sleep.
Snore

((Finally had time to respond to the rp... *clings* ;-; ))
The reddish-brown kit blinked a few times at Isara as though she had suddenly grown another head. The other kit's intentions were clear to her alright.
Yae mused silently to herself as she got up from her position on the ground so that she could gaze levelly into Isara's eyes. Yae was more than willing to go with her in fact. The question was how.
With the door securely shut the way she had remembered it being ever since her repeated failures to leave the nursery in the past, Yae was stumped. Still, that didn't mean that she wasn't about to try again. Not when it would take her to where she really belonged.
