There are many local legends around the globe... not nececarily superstitions where you need to do something in order for somthing to happen.. more of a story that is well known in your community.. perhaps a story that your parents told you so that you would be home before dark...
-what are some of your local legends?
-have you encountered some of them?

There were rumors that my elementry school was haunted. It was built in 1906, right next to a graveyard. According to the legends, the graveyard was origionaly twice it's current size, but when the school was put in, some of the graves were moved, and there are restless and maliciouse spirits there now.
When the school was first built, it was k-12. Back in the feild adjacent to our playground was this fenced in area with the propane tanks, and a bunch of giant fan and equipment that we couldn't go near. There was a story that back in the 50's, there were some kids, middle or high school age, who were playing football. The ball got out of bounds, and ended up inside that fenced in area. This one guy decided to go get the ball, and climbed over the fence. The ball had landed near one of the fans, and as he went to reach for it, he was pulled in, mutilated, and killed. In order to keep the story quiet, the administrators buried the body on school property, in the back corner of the feild, opposite the school. This place is marked by a large pile of brush and logs, and a disembodied hand can sometimes be seeen climbing around on the branches (I have seen this myself). Vultures would always land on that brush pile, as many as six at a time, every morning. You can also see a blood covered man missing one hand walking through the woods on the other side of the school.

Ummmm...oH Wait! I know one now....the founder of St.Jude was a priest?I think he was.Priest,saint,whatever.His name was Father Parcell...and the teachers and principles will tell you if something happen like the lights going out or anything unexplanatory and if it is...that it's Father Parcell,the founder of our school.It's neat.....our school a long time ago use to have nuns as teachers....one day Im doing EVP at school on the abandoned elementary side.
Does that count?or does it have to consist of all fictional details?

there's a tower near my town for the college over there, it's like an observatory, or something, and honestly, it looks like a p***s. so everyone calls it "big d**k tower". the legend is that if a virgin graduates from the university, the tower will collapse in on itself.
it's still around.

D.J._Skippy there's a tower near my town for the college over there, it's like an observatory, or something, and honestly, it looks like a p***s. so everyone calls it "big d**k tower". the legend is that if a virgin graduates from the university, the tower will collapse in on itself. it's still around. 0_o.....*laughs*..... There is a legend at my high school that there are two boys that were buried alive during costruction of the school. They supposedly fell in while the concrete for the foundation was being poured. I do not remember the story to exact detail, nor am I entirely certain it is factual. Though, I can sya for a fact that it would be very strange if it were not true, becuase we'd have to find the real story as to why there are two spirits of young boys that haunt my school. I see them nearly every day, and it tends to be a slight distraction from my work. Nothing having a spirit think it's scaring you when it stands an inch in front of your face and smiles. Ugh.

This is based on a true story in Thailand.
There was a scool that a girl in 5 grade hang her self in the toilet. Her story was that she was pregnant.Her parents didn't know that and if awery body know she would be expeld from school.So thas why she hang herself. And after that you could sometimes see a pregnant school girl walikg alone in the school late at night. neutral

There's one up here in Montreal. I guess that a long time back (I don't know when, I haven't researched it) the textiles district of the city burned to the ground. It's been rebuilt since of course.
The building I work in now is probably...Oh, I don't know. Fifty or so years old (I've never asked). Acording to one of my co-workers, if you are in the office late at night, you can hear footsteps in the hall, and feel like there's someone looking over your shoulder as you work.
Now she started at that office about a year ago. Right before she came, the father of the two men who own the company now passed away. It's her belief that is him who haunts the building, looking out for his employees after dark.
