Before my guard goes on the floor/field to do a show, we must do several dances, songs, and inside jokes. If your guard do stupid stuff as well, please tell us about it.

We do a lot of stuff:
arrow We dance the "Jump On It" dance, lead by the black girl (we're not racist, we just pretend to be). xd
arrow We sing the Beaver Song ("beaver one, beaver all, let's all do the beaver crawl!..." on and on it goes)
arrow Director says, "Whose house?" we yell, "KINGS HOUSE!", though usually we have to whisper-yell it cause there's a guard performing be fore us.
arrow We stand in a circle with our arms crossed right over left, squeeze hands, kiss cheeks, etc, then relevee and turn around, keeping our hands held.
arrow We do several small personal things with one or two other people that would take me year to explain here because they're all inside jokes, though much of it has o do with the movie/musical "Rent."

We don't always have time for them, but the rituals we do have are:
~We all gather round in a circle with our arms crossed (I can never remember which arm is on top sweatdrop ...), the girl who leads all of our pre-game/ show stuff (Gill, long story behind the name...) then says a prayer and when she says amen, squeezes the hand of the girl to her left. The squeeze goes around the circle and when it gets back to Gill, we say "WOOO!" and raise our hands, unwinding the circle.
~Another one is where we all put our right hands stacked on top of one another Gill says "Keep, keep, keep it up," and we reply "Keep that color guard spirit up!" We do this 3 times, getting louder each time. Yeah, its dumb, but its tradition blaugh
~Another: We all stand in a circle again, with our right hands in toward the circle. Our hands are turned perpendicular to the foor, all next to eachother, so that our palms are touching the back of the hand of the person next to us. We then say "Go guard!" On the word "Go" we all bend our hands to the right, so the circle kinda shifts, on "guard" we bend back to the left. I don't know if that makes sense, and again, its kinda dumb but its tradition heart
~ Also, as we're about to go on the field/ floor, we always "pound it". Two people make a fist, you hit the other person's fist going down, hit their hand again going up, and then you each hit each other straight on.
~One more! Mr. B, our instructor, comes around and gives us all high fives. We always hit him really hard, kinda like a mutual form of payback for grueling rehearsals pirate

Our flag tech always comes around and squeezes each of our shoulders, saying, "have a good show, don't suck/be beautiful/smile pretty/etc."

Usually the guard has a prayer...but most of our stuff involves the whole band. This stuff consists of:

Yelling TBDBITL (ta-bid-al) over and over again. You figure out what it means.

DM: Feet?
B: Together!
DM: Chest?
B: Out!
DM: Sholders?
B: Back!
DM: Chin?
B: Up!
DM: Eyes?
B: With PRIDE!

my guard has a small chant

Capt. "What are we gonna do?

Us. "WIN!"

Capt. "how are we gonna do it?"

Us. "CHEAT!"

Capt. "how are we gonna chart?"

Us. "TOO MUCH" (it was sposed to be "pay the judges" but Kelly mest it up and it stuck)

Capt. "and what does that equal?"

Us. "320!" (Kelly once got 420 mixed up and thought it was 320 sweatdrop )

Capt. 1,2,3

All. "HUH"

also we have a Amy who sings "There was a great big Moose" and "Baby Shark"

After every practice and before games our whole band does that. It is run by the director, color guard captain and the drum majors. It gets us pumped for the game.

We only did this once all season this past WG season, but tis a fall tradition. We all hold hands, right over left with our arms crossed the ENTIRE guard. The circle's not allowed to be broken untill this is all done. Normally a senior starts with some words, good luck, we've worked hard for this, we are the hottest guard here, etc, etc. And then anyone who wants to speak may do so. As we are talking, someone squeezes the hand next to them and it goes around the circle. When we're done, someone, typically a senior, yells "Can I get a Ho-Rah?" The rest of us all yell "Ho-rah!" And then we spin out of the circle. We did that before WGI finals on the ramp because our instructer was like "The guard before you barely made it here, they're last placed right now, they were excited and energetic! What's wrong with you guys?" So we did that!

In either season, our guard stands in a circle, and everyone puts a hand inside the circle.
We make bubbly noises and someone (usually an instructor) counts to three and we all yell "Burn It!"

We always have a starburst right before we go on and stick the wrapper down our bra, unless it's a guard guy... 4laugh

we ususally do the arms-crossed-in-a-circle-kiss-the-next-persons-cheek-and-twist-out thing. and sing a few dumb songs if we've got the time. and if you've got an inside joke/inside good luck ritual, you do that too. like mine-the good luck hand shake. psh, who needs good luck hugs when you can have good luck hand shakes?! hah. razz

we do a few things, we all stand in a circle, crisscross arms, (this is for indoor and outdoor) and see how fast by squeezing hands can we make it around the circle....

then we sit down somewhere quiet and cross arms, and close our eyes and d mental runs of the show(indoor only) and finally......
WE HAVE OUR DANCE.... which is top secrect, so i can't explain : )

we also do the duckie song if its raining: )

and then there is the whole NO soda aloud thing ., but we all drink Monster so go figure..... i never understood that.....

Where do i even begin? my guard has so many its not even funny. the first one is we sit in a circle together. and then we place our hands so we form a circle one hand above one below and then we slap the persons next 2 us' hand. while chanting :kella chinga- chinga chinga chat
fello fello eat a bowl of jello j-e-l-l-o. I think there is more but thats all i remember. another one we do is little sally walker. We stand in a circle with one person in the middle. While we chant "little sally walker just a walking down the street didnt no wat 2 do and she came rite up 2 me and said hey girl do ur thing do your thing now switch, hey girl do ur thing do ur thing now switch" while we r chanting the person in the middle is danceing and they walk up 2 someone in the circle and that person has 2 imitate the centers persons moves, and then they switch spots. we just did a new one for champs, we had a "secret santa" thing where we drew names from a hat and had 2 get a good luck thing for the person. then while we were in streching block we had 2 guess who had us, while the guard instructer looked in all of the bags to see what was inside. We also had a "mix match day" where we had 2 wear clothing that didnt match. one of the girls ended up wearing our hidious falll guard costumes, and it was hilarious.
