If I get paid over the summer from baby sitting, should I join the Christian Children's fund?

I'm honestly a bit leery of big organizations, but I can't say that I've heard anything about it. I personally prefer to keep my donations close to home in order to help out my community, but it all depends on where you live and one's personal preferences. Maybe someone else here knows more about it. ^.^

I hope it isn't one of those ones where they send the money overseas. Those ones aren't worth wasting money on. What they don't skim off for themselves just goes to buy supplies in a war torn country where the enemy soldiers come in and take the supplies at gunpoint.

You'd be better off giving it to a local church, donating it to a soup kitchen, or giving it to Feed the Children which, while moderately corrupt, actually uses it's stuff to help the poor and has to meet tighter Government regulations to fight embezzling. The ones that send the money overseas don't have nearly as much trouble with regulations, so they tend to be the most corrupt.

Just for the record, I don't think that one should really feel bad for not donation to the organizations. I mean ,you see them, you are sad for the children, what-not. You may be feeling you can help.

but one should feel moved inside and not obligated to give out what they can to others. Just willing.

But I've heard the same thing too about over-sea charities. But I'm not going to say much more on the issue, as far as that is concerned.

Do what you feel is right and what will honestly benefit someone less fortunate than you, if it be God's will stirring in your heart moving you to do so. heart

i agree, that way, if you want to switch around who you are donating to, you can ^^
