I find both of these animes are similiar because of the way the situations are handled by the teacher alot fo the times. Both care greatly for their students and will go neck deep into trouble to get them out. The only difference is that in GTO its a guy and The Gokusen its a woman. Other then that, both animes kick a** and theres lots of high-octain entertament. Plus, some funny bits and peices here and there to make you fall off the couch! *raises hand* I did that while watching an episode of GTO, I lauged to hard and fell! sweatdrop
