Hey Guys, as you may or may not know, I've got next to no experience with OOMPH! and as I'm going to start a new job, I figured that now is as good a time as ever to start buying albums. My question is, which ones do you guys suggest? My plan was just to start at the first one and go from there, but if any albums are really good, tell me! pirate

I'm doing the opposite; working my way down the list. I'm really liking GlaubeLiebeTod (or at least the samples for it), but I haven't heard enough of their albums all the way through to give in depth detail on why this one's the best and this one's okay. The two I have in my posession I love, though: Warheit oder Pflicht und Ego. I'd recommend trying to find samples; I'll post if I find any good sites that have 'em. The German Amazon might...

If you'd like to sample songs, I know the German iTunes server has many; you just go to the bottom of the home page and you can switch countries there. It has more albums than the Amercan and Canadian servers, and if you're lucky enough to posess a German credit card you can buy the songs. If not, then it wont let you. stare Stupidest thing I've ever heard...

that is really stupid, kind of like the region of DVDs, and how you can't go to england and buy a dvd and then come back and play it here unless you have an Region all dvd player (which are at least 90$...) it pisses me off because i buy dvds from china and then i have to go to my friend's house to watch them.....

Yeh. I couldn't believe it when I heard, it, either. I complained to Apple, and they said that they're "doing their best" to get all those songs up onto the server and that they can't do anything about it. It's just stupid. Oh well... their loss. And people wonder why I'm not an Apple fan.

i never really liked apple either, as a matter of fact i don't like most of the american companies (when it comes to music and entertainment). they shut out the international music and make us buy their s**t music.

Ja. I asked at a local store about it and they said it's because they can't import a lot of international music; they simply won't. It violates government regulations or something... anyhoo, that's why they don't have one big global store; they have to go through everything first. I guess they've never heard of freedom of speech. But you can download so much rap, and all (most of) that is is strings of profanity doused with sexual references and bragging about how rich they are! And it's not like we don't have groups making questionable statements about the government here as it is! I mean, I can see why they wouldn't want discriminating stuff here, but that's not too hard to pick out, is it? Is there something that I'm missing completely? Ugggh... sorry; I seem to be ranting a lot lately. sweatdrop

heh heh, tis alright, i love rants. i also asked a music store about it and the manager said (since i had a simple question they had to call the manager over stare ) the same thing, they can't import it because of goverment regulation, he also said that the major record companies paid the goverment money to make this "law" type thing so that they get more money. the record companies also said that "american music is better, and that is that". (i guess the manager asked the same question to some major company.)

*Blinks stupidly* You're kidding me. They actually had the nerve to say that? Geez, sounds a lot like those white wannabe rapper kids that run around the schoolyard... well, it's their loss. If people had any clue as to what else is out there... well, that's all it's about nowadays is the money, anyhow. People aren't willing to listen to something they don't understand (of which translations are a click away), they'd rather shun it. Well, it's their loss. (Though also ours, I suppose, as they won't import the bloody music...)
I can't believe they'd say such a thing. It's just so incredibly arrogant...!

Well, we have to thank the internet, or we may not even know of the great German music! But I see it as an attempt by American music producers to make sure that they make all the money. Which is why they can make s**t music and jam it down our throats. At least we can buy it online, I'd rather pay extra than not have the music at all.

Oh yes. *Worships this wonderful thing called the Internet* Without it, I doubt I'd be listening to what I am today... Rammstein, yes, but no OOMPH! and Funker Vogt and the like. I'm not saying I don't like music that comes from North America, don't get me wrong; I just don't listen to it as much nowdays.

Yeah, just a lot of North American music is made by people with no talent these days. There is some good stuff, you just have to cut the crap out first.
