I've been thinking of getting this game and giving it another shot. I didn't seriously play it last time. Of course the last time i had it was on sega channel with either PS2 or 4. And anyone who's ever had sega channel knows how prone it was to lose save data if you had saves for more than one game.

Bottom line is the story always that slow or is like an Eddings book. You have to slog through the first two or three chapters then it picks up.

Maybe. It wouldn't be the first time the finite storage capacity of a genesis cart caused a game to seem mediocre.

You know I particulary liked PSIII. I grew up with it while I was a pre-teen. I would rent it all the time from my local video store.
And although, it had it's flaws, I think what made it memorable was the mythology.

Think of it like a pen and paper flip through the pages adventure. You know? The type of stuff you used to play as a kid that would give you so many options and lead to the enevitable "Pg 23. You die! Start over from the last spot"

So I guess what I'm trying to say is; that although the characterization may have not been it's strong point, it was how it tied the other Phantasy Stars together that made it beautiful. Not only that, the world was encompassed with the legends of Orakio and Lara, and I think the mixture of ancient technology rivaled that of any final fantasy. Particulary the first one.

So yeah. Anyways. I say go ahead and do it again. Make the characters act like YOU think they'd act. And I think you'll have a lot of fun. =P

I've read that it was rushed, as was Sword of Vermillion. Explains alot... sweatdrop


In the end you can always make up your own filler. I know I do. twisted

I actually liked the game though. Lyle is my favorite PS3 character. I only got three endings because I somehow played through the same line twice and didn't notice til the end. Pretty weird since I played them all in succession... ><

I liked Phantasy Star 3; I mean at the time I played I was not ready for Phantasy Star 2 (I was 8 and kept getting my a** kicked) and with Phantasy Star 3, it gave me enough of an edge that I could play -and- enjoy it, plus the intro scene before Rhys' near marriage was beautifully rendered for the time.

So does Lune, Alair, Aron, and the Karas! Those suckers are bright! xd

I don't think there's a set cutoff point, but I do remember the amount of experience needed got pretty high after a point. I had MonkeyMan hang around Cille for awhile to earn money for Star Mist and Moon Dew (or whatever they called them in 3. xd ) And on the PS3 I rented I kept a save with Ayn's team at the end and levelled them insanely high since Ayn and Sari are 2 of my favorite PS3 characters. whee

... you know, i never really liked it all that much, but after reading all these posts, i think ill dust off my sega and give it another go, i just remember having the android with the pink hair in every party or generations... mrgreen
