Joy Division, a great band formed near the end of the 70's. Ian Curtis, Bernard Albrecht, Peter Hook, and Stephen Morris were musical geniuses that gave the world 2 of musics greatest albums. Both Unknown Pleasures and Closer were well recieved and recieved high critic approval. But two weeks before the release of Closer, singer Ian Curtis hanged himself.
Soon enough the remaining members formaed a new band with Gillian Gilbert (Morris's girlfriend) on keyboard. This time a name change was in order. So Bernard changed his last name to Bernard Sumner. Oh wait.....the band name, yeah well they named themselves New Order. New Order kept on playing until 1993, releasing 6 albums within that time. (Note that only one album was released in the 90's, it was called Republic)
The band went on hiatus and did other side projects. Then in 2001, they released new material(Note still not the 90's). And even through the half century point in their lives, they are still pumping out new music
So what do you think of the bands?
