Thank you.

It is not the goddess who greets the two people still searching for eggs in the egg hunt. It is, instead, a nine-tailed angelic Zurui, whose blue and white fur gleams in the sunlight. "Welcome," he says quietly, golden eyes regarding you both in content approval. "You've come far. Please, bear with me a little longer, for I have a final search for you. You must search within yourselves, and each decide between the two eggs presented here. One egg houses more than the other, but I will not tell you which. I had not thought you would both arrive at the eggs the goddess has entrusted to my care."

Ailis noses two eggs forward, displaying them before you. From his speech, you know that you may only choose one... and that you must each agree on which egg goes to whom before he will let you open either one.

Syrie's ears lay back just a little as the angelic creature's brightness momentarily blinded him. His tail flicked just a little behind him as he listened to the Zurui speaking to both himself, and another dusty traveller.

The kitsune knelt down to gently touch both eggs, he looked up at Thabara, ears up and quivering slightly - which would she be drawn to? Did she too feel the pull of one certain egg? Syrie's grey eyes glanced from the eggs to the woman, and then to the Zurui.

"I believe a woman's intuition is stronger than a man's...I trust her judgement." Syrie's fingers lingered just a fraction of a moment longer on the dark egg before he straightened and offered the Zurui and the woman a quiet sort of smile*

Politely, the shinobi bowed to Ailis and also to Syrie, then she knelt down to carefully examine the eggs. Her long scarf billowed gently in the wind, and for quite a while the young woman remained silent, while she considered things. She had searched for the eggs in dark and muddy places.. Maybe darkness was not hers this time?

Her gloved hand hovered above the two eggs, then she touched the bright one, almost caressing.. To have something this bright, this shiny - that would be a special treasure for someone like her, who always dwelled in the shadows. Besides, it had not escaped her that the other seemed to like the dark egg..

"I'd like to have this one," she finally announced quietly. Her shy smile was hidden behind her scarf, but there was a certain glint in her golden eyes.

Ailis nodded, watching the two solemnly. He made no move to offer the eggs up just yet. Whatever hints he and the woman had caught, the rules he had laid down required that both parties specifically agree, and so he spoke again.

"To forestall any confusion in the matter, your companion must also tell me which he wants. Only when both of you have said, and the sayings agree, will I hand the eggs over."

Syrie picked up that the woman was normally of the dark; he too was choosing one that was not his "usual" - Kitsune were generally creatures of the light - though the hid in shadows when need be. His tail twitched a little as he waited for verbal decision - whatever she'd chosen, he would abide by.

Choice made, Syrie's fingers reached again to gently touch the eggs, he quietly offered a prayer for both eggs to his gods - that they be happy and healthy, and then rested his hand on the darker egg. "I will care for the child in this egg." That said, he moved back to stand near the woman; it was not his place to "take" the egg, but the Zurui's to "give".

It was the Way. He understood this, and waited quietly, grey eyes offering the other a silent sort of smile though his lips didn't quirk at all.

Ailis nodded, bowing to both the egg-hunters before his golden eyes softened. He leaned over, jaws snapping very abruptly at the treasured golden egg, destroying it's strong shell. In a small portion of the shell, cupped and feeling somehow protected, lay a single, shining marble.

"Take care of it," Ailis advised softly. "For you will find that it needs the care."

"And you," the angelic zurui continued, turning his serene gaze to Syrie. "You are the only one whose egg remains." This time, a paw tapped it lightly, the egg crumbling as though shockingly fragile.

Within the egg, the one curled around the other, lay a sleepy Zurui kit and a shining marble. "You are lucky, my friend. Be wary of that luck with these two."

The kitsune winced when the first egg was destroyed, but knew the glowing Zurui would not have done anything to harm whatever was in it. He winced again when the darker egg was shattered, his ears going back again.

The kitsune's grey eyes went wide as he saw the marble, and the kit curled tightly around it. A moment passed before he knelt to touch the silky fur, the smooth stone. "Thank you..." He murmured to the grown creature, his eyes never leaving his new charges.

"Halcyon and Dalizar..." The names floated into his concious and settled there when he picked up the ball of fluff he knew to be Halcyon and it's companion-stoine, Dalizar; he looked towards the other Zurui and inclined his head gracefully. "Thank you."

The shinobi flinched when the shiny egg was broken. She hadn't expected this to happen, why would someone break something so beauti--

Oh, something was inside..

Carefully she picked up the small round thing. It looked like a marble, but it felt.. warm somehow. Not like stone was supposed to feel. She cupped her hands around it, as if to warm it.. "Meena?" she wispered quitly, not sure if she'd just chosen a name since it also meant 'precious stone'.

She bowed politely towards Ailis. "I shall take good care of it."
