Milk Toast. I know it has nothing to do with herbs if thats what you want. But for colds, sore thoat, head ache, stomach ache, Fever, ect. This is the best recipe!
My grandma's sister taught my mum and she taught me.
Milk Toast:
Take a peice of bread (any kind will do, white or wheat is best) Put it in the toaster (mild brown, or how ever you like it) Butter the bread when it is done (both sides) Warm up milk in a pot on the stove or in a microwave (warm, not hot)
Put the warm milk in a a bowl (big enough for the bread) add pepper and salt.
Place the butterd toasted bread in the bowl. make sure the milk goes all over the toast.
And eat with a fork. Then drink the milk.
It will help. I hope it does for you and anyone else who needs to use this.
It's just a old home made recipe, so your doctor should have no problem with you doing this. It has no medical drugs and such to mess with Tylonol, asprin, or whatever you use.
Also my mum eats this whenever. YOu don't have to eat it when you are sick. But it will make you sleepy, because of the milk.

Oh, and if you can stomach it, gargle salt water (Do not swallow!). It kills throat bacteria.
Or mix honey and lemon juice together and take spoonfuls as needed.

Yes, those are all good things to do... something else you might want to try is rubbing tea tree oil into your skin, wherever your throat is sore. Also, applying it on to your sinuses will keep down congestion.

Kyoki Marie Oh, and if you can stomach it, gargle salt water (Do not swallow!). It kills throat bacteria. Or mix honey and lemon juice together and take spoonfuls as needed. Whenever my throat is irratated I mix equal amounts of honey and lemon juice in hot water to make a basic tea. I find the warmth helps a lot as well.
