The Mole Name: European mole Talpa europaea Physical description: European moles have black, velvety fur and a rounded body. Their front limbs are spade-like with sharp claws, and their hind limbs are small and underdeveloped. They have a pink pointed snout, small eyes and a short furry tail.Length: 4 to 6 inchesWeight: About 4 oz. (Males are bigger than females)Behavior:Barring accidental emergence into daylight, the European mole spends the entirety of its life underground. It uses specialised enlarged forelimbs to dig a complex system of tunnels that it patrols on a regular (roughly 4 hour) basis, picking up worms and soil living insects. Moles live solitariy lives apart from when they are born where they will be cared for by there mother with 2-6 siblings and during mating season. Sense: Eyes are a liability since they may clog with earth. They are extremely reduced and skin covered, able only to detect light and dark so that the animal is aware if it accidentally breaks through onto the surface. The main sense organs are the long mobile nose (both for smell but also the sensitive bristles) and the ears. Some authors have suggested that the nose of Talpa may also be sensitive to electrical or magnetic signals. Hearing is acute but the ears are without auricles (outer ear), again a liability underground.Distribution: widely distributed throughout temperate parts of Europe and Asia. It does not extend south beyond the Pyrenees (and is therefore absent from the Iberian Peninsula) and is missing from the north of Scandinavia. It is also missing from Ireland.Habitat: under deciduous woodland and grassland where there is sufficient depth of soil. All talpids (moles) with the exception of the water-living desman (and the rather ambulatory shrew mole which lacks digging specialisations) live in self-made subterranean burrows.Food: worms and underground insects such as beetles. (Yummy, huh?) Interesting facts:-A mole's skin is more sensitive to touch than that of any other mammal. (which explains Taran's pickyness about clothing material) -Moles avoid wet earth although they are perfectly capable of swimming. -Moles makes various noises, including squeaks and purrs
 (more to come)

The Reasons
Well I started of looking for more kids recently. I don't have many of the more humaoid varity and frankly I wanted some. i like keeping jounals and doing detailed rps with such children. Then I saw D-corp and the dragons caught my eye. I adore, love, can't get enough of dragons. They are such awsome mytical creatures and they spark my imagination. I was intriged by them and so started to talk in the thread and got lumberd as the free babysitter. Which was lots of fun althrough unquestionably a bit of a challange. I aso started to talk to the other owners and lurkers and they are all complely 100% awsome. So in short this shop has to many componets that make it awsome to simply ignore. Hence the quest thread. ^.^ The reason for me chossing a mole is that well for starters they are damned cute. Just look at that nose. -gose all gooey- anyway yea they are cute but also they are throught of as pests and irritants and killed on a regular basis in traps and other ways by farmers. Yet people don't care because they arn't endangerd or anything so arn't protected from such cruel deaths. How do they think animals become endangerd in the first place? -growls- anyway yea also moles are fassinating creatures being able to swim as well as dig and able to complet 20m of tunnel in one day. Also the skin fact is pretty cool. I think all of these qualties would make for a pretty intresting child don't you?

That would be an interesting rp. Especially if it's on Halloween or after the kids watch a zombie movie. >:3 Only that instead of groaning noiss it would be more like squeaking. O.o
