I don't like I could ever like war, per say but the most intriguing parts of it were all the 'Firsts'. Like, the first attack from water onto the beaches of Normandy. Also, the construction of the atomic bomb. Things like that make the war compelling to study, I think.

FDR's breaking the 2 term precedent was interesting to me.
But I also found interesting was how Russia and the US emerged as the first super-powers of the world, and how they handled the "red scare".

Indeed. And I am continually amused by the fact that it was Stalin who destroyed Hitler.
I'm actually quite interested in Soviet history in general, so WWII definately is of interest.
In America, I think that the Red Scare completely blew things out of proportion, what with McCarthyism and the like. The fact that a person espouses an alternate economic theory does not make that person evil, or a threat to national security, or an enemy spy...

My favourite part was when my country didn't participate. We were in the middle of a dictatorship, so we probably didn't even notice.

I wrote a paper on Auschwitz-Birkenau, and what I found most interesting was the fact that people denying these terrors actually happened.
*yawn* yeah...time for me to go to sleep.
