How much homophobia to you incounter? What do you do about it? Does it work? Has homophobia affected your daily activity? Anything else you would like to add?

My friends and I usually deal with it by using sarcastic retorts that make the offender look extremely stupid. Mostly we use big words that they can't understand, since we're all really good in English and the rest of the people in our school are all stupid 13/14/15-year-olds.
Here's a good example of something my girlfriend did. (If you read over all my posts, you'll notice that I'm using the words 'my girlfriend' a lot.. God, I love her. XDD)
So, one day, this major homophobic jackass tells one of our (straight) friends that she has the common sense of a queer.
Jess: Hey, David, shut your mouth. I'm bi, you know. David: eek You're bi?!?!?! OMGWTFEWW!!! Jess: stare stare stare
~~Later That Day~~
*Jess hides David's binder--in perfect view of the entire class, I might add* David: crying crying OMGWTF Where's my binder?!?!?! crying crying Jess: ... *is staring at binder* David, you moron, I'm looking right at it. Wow, if the common sense of a bi can beat the common sense of a straight, I'd love to see the common sense of a queer. Must be a ******** genius. Class: rofl rofl rofl
*Please excuse all the emoticons and OMGWTF'ing in this post, I normally don't use this many. I'm very hyper. So sue me. domokun *
But when I first came out to the school, I was really worried about what everyone would say.. but my girlfriend and another bi friend don't care, so why should I? It only matter what my friends think, and if they don't support me, then they were never my friends to begin with.
Other than that, there's not much.. I think some of the preps have been avoiding me since, but screw them, I already knew they were all stupid blondes who aren't worth my time. Only one has come up and asked if we were really going out, and after I replied with "Hell yeah," he just grinned and said "cool" and walked away. =/

Adorable stories, guys. XD
Hmm, I don't encounter much of it. No one's straight up about hating me for it, so while I'm sure there's a lot of whispering behind my back, it doesn't really affect my daily routine.
And anyway, most of my school is tolerant if not really accepting, so I don't have it too badly.

I don't experience any hardly, which is amazing considering where I live. However, I was threatened with a fagbashing once but it made me laugh my a** off. I guess I had it coming, I laughed in the guy's face when he tried to sell me a cd he recorded.

Homophobia here is pretty awful, but luckily we here don't encounter much of it so it doesn't affect our daily lives so much.

I don't encount homophobia, but it's probably because i'm trying to avoid it by not kissing and not even holding hand in public. I simply don't dare even though I really would love to walk hand in hand with my bf and act like a "normal" couple. But maybe that dream can come true some day.

ive never experienced much homophobia where i live. My family is really cool and is accepting of me being gay, and at school most people just say "thats gay" when somethings dumb to them.
if i were to get into an argument thoughw ith someone i dunno, i am a really good debater and i can usually win, but i also can just as easily walk away. and if someone ever tried to physically harm me....watch out, id punch, kick, bite, tear..... twisted twisted twisted lets just say if the person trying to hurt me was a guy id make sure he walked away a woman!!! XD

I get it everyday. I tend to ignore it at home because I can'tdo anything about it there. But at school, I tend to speak up about it.

I encounter homophobia daily. Mainly, some boys in my lasses making jokes to another boy and it leading to me. The rest from my mom. Though, my dad makes gay jokes, he's mainly trying to make me smile.Dx I normally make a big scene about it if it's not a classroom and will strt yelling inapropriate things across the courtyard. Homophobia doesn't affect me much. Although, it does make me famous at my school. Haha. I went to a party and some girl's cousin who lives in Daytona goes 'Who's your boyfriend?' and I just go 'I'm not going out with anyone...' and she told me that all she was hearing was kids calling her up, talking about some boy I was talking to during lunch. Ha. Joey. I love him. But, he needs to stop taking my bets.Dx

I'm not gay... BUT, at our school, it's the "cool thing" to be homosexual or bi... so the environment is very accepting towards the gays.
Sort of.
One day, I saw my best friend Ivan, and I was like "IVAN!" and then I hugged him and some guys across the patio yelled, "HEY f**! HEY, HEY f**!" etc... and I was ready to beat someone DOWN! But my friend was like "WHAT? Me?" To be funny, and they weren't even talking to him... xD
That's a story I wanted to tell.

Puerto Rico is extremly homophobic. Thats why I'm "straight", if a day goes by without some comment or abuse I think thats a good day.
