Here's a wikipedia article on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fakir

They seem to have a slightly different, but similar definition as you 3nodding .

I've always preferred Fakir to Fakia. Fakia just... I don't... like it as much. ^^;

I found some more names =3! Er... well, one.

[x] Rue means "famous" in German. Since the town that Kinkan is based off of is in Germany, I'm taking this as the meaning the creators took the context from.

[x] Couldn't find anything for Mytho.

[x] Tutu is self explanitory.

[x] Ahiru is duck in Japanese, which most fans probably already know xD;.

I think it's like the word 'Mythos', which was what Charon (dudes, did I spell that right?) said when he and lil' Fakir found Mytho *ep 10:Cinderella*. I'd guess that's why Fakir called him that.

Mythos - (Greek) story, legend.

YES! I knew it had a meaning I'd heard somewhere! Thanks a lot for posting that ^^!

And now that I look at it, Charon... that was from some legend too, wasn't it? Hm...

AHA! Charon = the ferryman of the underworld in Greek mythology. His character in the anime doesn't seem to have anything to do with the Charon of the myth though, which is good ^^;. The legend version doesn't seem so pleasant...

...then again, I wouldn't be pleasent either if I were going around carrying dead people on boats across the same ol' river every day.

Yeah, I think that's my thing with it. Fakia, when you look at it, just looks... girly. Fakir has a harder feel to it. More fitting for his character, I dunno. They're pronounced the same in Japanese, but I prefer Fakir nonetheless.

I prefer Fakir as opposed to Fakia.

Last time I was drawing him, someone asked me who it was, and I pronounced it Fakia--they thought I said "f*ck ya."

So I haven't pronounced it like that in a while -_-.

Now that I think about it, though, Fakir sounds like "f*ck here." That doesn't make it much better.

Actually, in one of the fabsubbed episodes I watched, they mentioned that the last syllable in "Kraehe" is pronouned "Ru" in Japanese (hence the whole "Claire" problem). When Rue was trying to give Mytho her name, she went to say "Kraehe" but then stopped and told him "Rue" instead because she didn't want him to correlate her with the monster raven....Of course, there is the possibility that what you said is also true, but this makes more sense to me. ^.^;
