Axle gripped the side of the cliff. He was hanging from the top of a huge mountain. He had been through hell and back trying to solve more of the mysteries of his past, but now he was back, and intended to return to the ranch to meet his friends. He climbed up and stood atop the crest of the mountain. He did not expect to see what he did. Rather than looking below at the peaceful sights of Hyrule, his eyes were drawn up to the moon in the sky, far closer than it should have been.
"Oh crap. I've missed a lot, appearantly," Axle said to himself.
He started down the mountain, intended to go to the Lon Lon Ranch and find out what was going on.

Under the decaying and waning sun above Lon Lon Ranch, Cure sat on a tree stump, overlooking weaponry. Pistols, and grenades, cyanide cigarrettes from the old days, a few knives here and there, and one long Winchester Rifle, his pride and joy. He polished this old repeating rifle with great care. Afterwards, he tossed the rag aside, loaded it, and cocked it. He was ready.

His two revolvers, Russian naturally, were placed at his side in holsters. The knives, found thier places in various pockets and belt loops, the grenades went to the belt, amd his Smith and Wessen Model 500 went into a special holster near his shoulder, concealed by his trenchcoat. He slung the Winchester over his shoulder, and stroked his chin.

We're going to fighting in the mountains... perhaps its time to test the belt parachute... Cure was nervous about using it, as it was meant to fit onto the back of his belt, small enough to be barely noticeable, however he had not run a reality test on it. Now then never, he supposed.

"Glenn, set up the practice targets."

Nine target popped up, settled in groups of three. Some went up and down, others went side to side, some just sat there. Cure took the Winchester and shot them all. No misses. He was indeed ready.

He reloaded the rifle, slung it across his back, and jogged towards the Garage.

Axle pulled his ragged, black cloak tight, as the cold wind blew upon him. He pulled his hood over his long white hair. He looked ahead, and saw the ranch.
No matter what he did, he couldn't help but smile.
The closest thing I have to a home. He thought.
As he stepped into the ranch, he heard gunshots, and he looked over to see a familiar face holding a gun.
Axle walked over to one of the buildings, he didn't care which, and sat on the ground, resting against the side of the wooden structure.

Malon had been sitting feeding the cuccos when her attention was drawn to the moon in the sky.

"I wonder what fate has in store for me..."

Knowing that the time had come Malon sadled her blue horse and grabbed a batch of arrows. Pulling back her bowstring she knew that this battle was going to be the most chalanging. Grabbing a sword from the sword bin she was ready. With cuccos and Gloomy in tow the farm girl hopped on to her horse and began to ride to the front of the ranch gait, awaiting her long time ranch friends and the newest addition, Tetsune.

The garage door of the Garage was open, letting in a slight breeze and the orange light from the waning sun. The sky on the far horizon was pastel, light, beautiful, while if one was to look up, it would be dark, starless, with only the red glowing eyes of the Moon to look back at you.

Sitting on top of a filing cabinet in the corner was a radio, playing some sort of eastern techno music. The walls and floors were grey, with a poster depicting Sean Connery with words that read: "You're the man now, dog!"

In the center the Garage's garage was Cure's red sports car. He himself was working under the hood. His black trenchcoat was hung up on a coat peg. Cure was working on the car's monthly checkup/tuneup/upgradingup. It was almost ready. Almost.

Cure wiped his forehead, and closed the hood. "Glenn, we ready under there?"

The robot rolled out from the car's belly. He gave Cure the thumbs-up sign. "Pretty much. It'll take a minute to get everything back in place."

"Take two, I need to clean up."

"You do that."

-------

The water that fell from the brass tube was cold, and clear. Cure let some gather in his hands, and then splashed in his face. It was more of a "reality connection" thing, then a cleaning. It was now or never. His computers monitering the sky were going wild. He could hear them beeping and spurting data even from the public bathrooms. If the Moon was allowed to crash, it would be thrice the power of all the nukes on the planet.

Cure wiped his face with a towel, threw back on the rack, and put his trenchcoat on again. As he exited back to the garage, he put a pair of fingerless gloves he had picked up back in the late 70s and early 80s.

"The car is ready." said Glenn.

"Good," replied Cure. "Good. The only way to stop the Moon is to beat the Mask. Even with what we have, we may not be able to beat it. It is ready for interplanetary travel?"

"I said it was ready."

"Good," Cure said, unassured. "Good..."
