I'm sure you've noticed that Malice Mizer has had several periods of music and several different visual styles. Ever feel as though their looks tend to match the concepts behind their releases? Well, this is the thread to discuss just those subjects! Even if you do not think there is any relation you could post here and give your opinion as to why the two (their image and musical concepts) are not related. So long as the discussion stays on how (or how not) their image relates to the concepts or feel in Malice Mizer's music then it wil be on topic.
NOTE: Images ARE allowed to be put in posts within this thread if they serve the purpose of helping your discussion and clarifying your point.

aahaahaa, I would have no idea. I try not to dive too deeply into his (or anyone's) lives. EVERYONE is incredibly strange if you stare at them long enough...and Kozi is kind of strange even if you are only giving him a passing glance so ...yeah. I'm not going there. XD

I haven't found too many interviews (translated) but the few I have found didn't mention anything on such a subject. Your friend should either send you a link to the interview or scan it in for you...and then you should pass it along to me. I really don't think that such an interview exists.
Speaking of interviews, I should go look for some to see if the Malice Mizer members ever said much about how their looks tie in with their music. I'm SURE that they have since the two really are quite connected. (and just like that we are back on topic XD)

All I know about Malice Mizer's image is that I liked them the best during the Klaha era. I'm thinking that it's just for the fact that they finally got around to the music and image that they should have had in the first place.
And the only interview that I've seen or read that reveals anything strange about the band is the infamous interview during the Gackt era in which Kozi slipped up and told the interviewer that Gackt was 32 when he joined the band

here's something I've always wondered.
In Au Revoir, why did the members choose such things to represent them? Kozi as a clock, I believe Yu~ki was supposed to be a leaf in the autum((or something like that >.X?)), Mana was a flower/doll thing, Kami as a butterfly ((which the only one I can figure as to why he was)), and Gackt as a snake.

Hrm, I haven't watched Malice Mizer videos in so long. I think I'm going to have to break them back out and have another look at both Au Revoir and Illuminati. However, I do believe that the illuminati video was paying homage to a foreign horror film.
