Not many Nikko bothered to visit the spring just beyond the mountains in the Nikko territory. Perhaps they didn't want to take the long trek, or perhaps it was the mental association with the Forbidden Caves. Whatever it was, it made the place a solitary one. One that was overlooked and ignored by many as they went about their day to day lives.
Still, there were some that had little choice. Some that had grown up near there, and some that just woke to their new lives with the water all around them.
One such Nikko was Boann. She was young by most any account, yet at the same time she was older and wiser that she seemed. Her youth came from immaturity and lack of experience. Her new life had started fragile few years before and she had much to learn about who she was, and what her calling was. All she knew for sure was that she loved the water. The coolness of it washing over her.
Yet, lately that wasnt enough for her. She wanted to visit the world, to touch the soft grass she saw growing, to feel the air all over her. "Soon." she told herself. "Soon I will travel, I just need to meet someone that will break my fears and bring me into a new world."

Nikki licked her pups and they nuzzled against her chest to suckle. Motherhood was harder then she expected. Her pups kept whining and clawing at her belly as they fed. "Perhaps when they become tots, things will get nicer" she murmured. It seemed like hours that she lay perfectly still and she rather be playing right now..
Tristin, Nikki's brother heard about his sister having her pups so he was traveling to Ayeka's thicket to see them. On the way there, he passed by the lake for a cool drink.

Tashere had been out gathering food as Nikki cared for the pups. He had rushed back when he had found out that he had become a father. This was not something he had thought their night of comfort would have produced, not that he was upset in the least. He was more than able to be a parent and an adventurer, plus.. had had the easy side of things. It wasn't like he had children trying to feed off of him. Dragging a mixture of foods in a sack behind him, the snow leopard walked to where Nikki was, and nuzzled her. "Dinner."
In the water, the goddess watched from afar. There on the shore was a new family, something she hardly understood, but knew was something profound and special. She watched the young mother with her pups, and the slightly older father trying to move around without wakeing them, with a sense of awe and surprise. It was only when something broke the surface of the water that she turned her attention from the new family.

Nikki yelped as one of babies bit too hard. She heard some approaching footsteps.. "Who could that be? I hope that it isn't someone dangerous. They smell like meat" she whispered as she prepared to stand up in defense. Her babies continued to suckle like nothing happened. Their ears folded and blocked out most the sound around them. If Nikki didn't protect them, they would surely die.
A familiar face peered in and Nikki suddenly smelled the oder of her mate, Tashere. She then saw the sack of food he had brought and thought that it had masked his oder before. "Hi honey. I'm glad you are home. I hope you enjoyed your time at the forbidden cave. Did you find out any mysterious? Well, while you were gone something magical happened" she said nodding to their babies.
Tristin continued lapping at the water and noticed a big shadown underneath the surface. "What could that be? a big fish?"

Tashere lowered the sack to the ground with a small thump, far more interested in the children than in eating. He moved over and lapped lightly at the two suckling pups then nuzzled and purred at Nikki. "babies.. little adorible babies." He lay down and nuzzled the little ones more, accidently knocking Tobias away. The little pup whimpered and squirmed trying to get back to the food, upset that he had been moved.
After a few moments of crooning and admireing his little family, Tashere smiled and started to recount the stories of several strange and interesting beings he had met on the way over, and several side trips he had made. Never one to take the direct route Tashere had stopped by other places on his way back with food. "I can't wait till we can all go adventureing together."
Boann smiled and moved toward the male at the side of the water, her tail helping her move in a silent gilde under the surface, so when she finally submerged she was right in front of him. She tilted her head to the side and looked at the land dweller, a smile across her face. She didn't say anything though, only gazed at the strange male.. the first of its kind that she had ever seen, close up at least.

Nikki smiled tiredly. "Yes. I know that our babies will be lil legend explorers in their own right. Just like their dear daddy. When they get to be tots they will feel ready then, but we better teach them the ways of the world first". She nibbled at some of the food Tash brought and rested her head down while the little ones fed.
Tristin jumped back ASAP when he saw a face starting back at him with emerald eyes. It was a nikko..but looked so different. There was two fins by the face and ...was that a fishtail?? surprised
When he caught his breath he smiled at the strange creature, meaning to be friendly. the last thing he wanted was to frighten it. He heard of nikkos such as these but they were so rare. A green aura surrounded this particular one and he sensed that there was magic at work. "Forgive me for gawking, fair one. My name is Tristin. smile "

Tashere laughed and he lay down next to Nikki watching the pups as they fed, he moved over and nuzzled them, looking at the sleep feline tail one the boy, and a fluffy tail just like their moms on the little girl. "Have you come up with names for them?" He smiled and nuzzled Nikki's neck. "They are as beautiful as you are." He thought of the adventures they would have, the fun of takeing the little ones through the caves and around this land teaching them everything he could.
Boann blinked and lifted her head out of the water, peering at the male and smileing back. She splashed a bit before softly speaking her name, the voice coming from her in a soft fluteing sound. She hadn't spoke much, the fish didn't really need that kind of attention and were just happy to see her swim around them. They couldn't speak back anyway even if she had talked to them. It also wasn't like she had, had the chance to meet others of her kind. As far as she knew there were no others. She had just appeared one day and was all alone. "W-who are you? Tristin.. but.. where did you come from? There have never been any others here before.."

((I don't know if this is Boann before or after the morphing, but I feel like rping here too *grins*))
"Well, what do you wawnt to do today, kiddies? Go for a walk, play a game, talk long naps, or what?" With a grin of amusement, Fionn surveyed the three Irish fae tots as he sat out in the field. Usually his mother Fiachra was there with him helping out, but for a rare instance, she had gone off to spend the day with some friends, consequently leaving the god to manage on his own. Lucky he had a high pain tolerance...
Rian looked at Fionn with wide innocent eyes. Although she looked sweet and angelic, in truth the little female was a hellion of sorts, totally given to pranks, tricks, and causing whatever kind of ruckus she could. Although she was fond of the god and Fiachra, her real role model was the leprachaun Gleann. "Well, I dunno Fionn...it seems kinda boring out here today. Can I go play with Gleann again? And can Reese come with me? Gavin doesn't have to come if he doesn't want to, though..." She gestured first at her twin brother Reese; he was almost as bad as her sister when it came to jokes and pranks, and the two of them were peas in a pod. But they didn't get along quite as good with Gavin; the other tot was much quieter and seemed to keep closer to Fionn.
"Well..." Fionn looked at the two tots thoughtfully. He was still rather edgy around the leprachaun; one could never trust the magical little beasties fatrther than they could be thrown, and in order to throw them they had to be caught. Still, Gleann was a father and grandfather who was very considerate with children...and Fionn could use some time off from the twins' antics. "Sure, go ahead. Just don't make yourselves pests, and be back in time for supper. Gavin and I'll spend some time together, then." He smiled at the third tot pleasantly; he was exceptionally fond of the silent pup, for some reason. To this day, he was thrilled at the good fortune that had brought he and Rian to find the small pup.

(This I suppose would be after, though Boann tends to keep to her nikko form. This is after the other events. ^_^)
Gavin blinked a bit as he heard the other two pups talking about leaving. He didn't want to and he edged closer to Fionn shakeing a bit at the thought of being driven away or even having it suggested that he go on. Very few were of the sort that Gavin would trust, and it was only after the accident that had deposited Fionn in the water leaving the poor mesmerized pup to snap out of the state that he was in and looking for someone to protect him that he had learned to trust anyone. Still there was only one that he really spoke to, and even that was rare. He looked up at Fionn wondering what they would be doing and if they were going to have fun alone. He was sure that his dad had other things he would rather be doing.

Yawning idly and trotting along with the two other nikkos that often hung around Bootchu, Murasaki and Choque. The sun was wonderful out and he had decided to take the tikes for a walk. "I am going to take in a few rays by the riverbank. It is oh so nice out today! I advise you stay around the river and don't wander off too far. Many nikkos have disappeared here and others are wild and unpredicatable. Stay outta trouble you two." Steel grins at the two tots and lays down on a rock next to the riverbank.
Murasaki grins mischeivously to his best bud Choque and wags his tail. Oh the havock they could bring. He brought the headphones up to his ears and turned them on quietly so he could listen to some music. "Maybe we'll find a new creature or something Choque! Then we can defeat it and become heroes!" Murasaki idolized adventures and his eyes twinkled at the thought.
Choque frowns at the thought of fighting a beast and shudders. "But what if we cannot beat them? We are after all only tots and not very strong ones at that. Sure being a hero sounds fun but we can only fantasize." Choque was the more sensible one and tended to think a bit more than his friend.
"Awww fine, whatever. Let's just walk down the river and try and meet new nikkos then you pooper." Murasaki sticks his tongue out at his friend and begins to walk down the river, glancing every now and then into the water.
Choque sighs and doesn't say anything. He had a bad feeling all through out today that something was going to happen to them but has said nothing yet to his friend or Steel. He can only hope he is wrong....

"Alright you two, scat! Let Gleann deal with your impudence and leave me and Gavin in peace!" With a merry laught, Fionn shook his paw at the two tots and grinned as they raced off. Ah, youth; but it took all types, as looking down at Gavin definitly showed. "Well, looks like it's just you and me, Gavers!" He grinned and picked up the tot, setting him up on his back with a smile. "The world is ours! Now we just have to decide what we're going to do with it." He grinned back at the tot, then looked around. What did they want to do, anyway?

Grinning after seeing two nikkos walking away from an adult, Murasaki gets an idea. "Hey Choque, Let's scare the living daylights outta those two nikkos. They won't suspect a thing!" Laughing to himself, Murasaki wags his tail mischeivously.
Choque sees the opportunity and grins from ear to ear. "Let's do it. Gotta stay quiet though. Lead the way Saki." Choque crouches down and wags his tail for a moment, then remembers his stealth and stops.

Gavin grabbed lightly onto Fionn and closed his eyes. His silence showed that he didn't know really, what was best to suggest they do. He kind of wanted to go back to the water and visit that strange nikko, but he also didn't want to risk someone falling in and getting lost. It was too easy to drown when one didn't know what to expect, and the memories of being alone were fresh in his young mind. He sighed and pawed at one antenna and tried to bring it down to his mouth to suck on.

Fionn crossed his eyes in an attempt to look up at Gavin, then shrugged. The tot often didn't speak, so Fionn was used to it; that just meant he'd have to figure out what to do on his own. But that was no chore...he looked around with a smile and took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp spring air with a smile. "Well, in that case, I think we'll go for a walk over to the river. Maybe we'll some fish! Or our friend from before, maybe." He grinned at Gavin, then started off at a slow trot.

Careless running low to the ground, Murasaki darts in front of Fionn and Gavin to get to the other two tots. Not knowing that he was seen, he continues to move towards the unsuspecting tots in the field ahead.
Smelling the air and looking around, Choque noticed Fionn and Gavin right away. Since he was trying to keep his stealth with him, he said nothing to tell Murasaki of the other nikkos watching. He gapes in horror as Murasaki glides in front of the two nikkos.
