greed noun the insatiable desire for more. the 6th sin.
[ ONCE UPON A TIME ]
...when the Earth was just created but nothing had taken root, spirits and magic floated freely in the void, not yet bound to anything. There was nothing: for a long time there was nothing, and still they waited because they had nowhere else to go.
Soon they themselves began to more fully manifest, and soon they had names, faces, emotions, beingnesses: anger made her home here, as with apathy, love, sympathy, loneliness, solitude, greed.
Greed, perhaps, was the most impatient of all; since she was aware of its existence she had been calling the Earth hers: the life that would soon bubble up and pool over into glorious beings, those would be hers too -- the trees, the flowers, the butterflies, the delicately spun laces spiders, all these things to come would -- in her will alone. So she imagined, and so she was subdued as long as no one told her otherwise.
And the shadows, and the dust, and the dirt, and the things no one ever wanted to look at -- that was all she would leave to anybody else.
But still nothing came, and she was not the only one that fell to warring: in one glorious, violent, and final clash, all the spirits came together, mixing and twisting together until there was one Being alone; and with an equally violent heave they all tried to spring apart again. It was too late though, they were all impossibly tangled in and to each other now, and in the pattern came life.
Greed had given the gift of drive and ambition to the earth, as double-edged as it was; she brought the ability to change and evolve, to reach and strive for something more.
And when they, one by one, all fell asleep, and were to leave proof of their existance in their joint world, Greed was not satisfied with one form or color alone; she scattered herself across the earth, deeply embedded there, to be discovered in a rainbow of colors and shapes, valuable and deeply desired. A "gift" from my younger sister. It's supposed to be a good luck charm. I'm still waiting for my winning lottery ticket.
I'm still wary about the whole thing actually -- if I'm right (and when am I not?) then this thing is probably an amethyst. They're most known for their healing abilities, not for being particularly lucky charms. Well, I guess I won't have to keep a sharp lookout for any crazed leprechauns in green then.
...Not that I believe in this whole hocus-pocus "MAGICKAL POWAR OF GEMSTONES! MAKE UP!" s**t anyway.

 this crappy picture will do until I have something better, I hope[ HOARD ] Sigh. Since I got this thing I've been getting this weird craving to suddenly buy s**t I don't even need. Like this dollhouse. It's huge -- and neither Eden nor I even play with dolls. ...Maybe I can E-Bay it.

race_ Completely and utterly human.
occupation_ Unfortunately, with her less-than-stellar attitude and extreme wanderlust, Aster can't hold any job for long. She hopes and dreams of one day being a famous book author who makes millions and millions off of her books (and movie deals and merchandising...) but until then, she's worked a variety of jobs to support herself. Currently she works as a librarian; unglamorous but at least it pays the bills.
family_ It's huge. Aster has six siblings, being the third eldest herself: Calandra, Jalen, Raleigh, Cerena, and Eden. Her mother is a widowed Countess, Calandra named her successor, Jalen married to some other nobility; Aster's estranged from that side of the family. No one knows where Raleigh went off to, and Cerena was sent off to a temple to become a priestess (of course, Aster knows better -- Cerena ran away and is currently living a hectic life with some really weird-a** kids.) Eden lives with Aster.
likes_ Being able to do whatever she wants to. Natural disasters, for they're fun to watch and generally offer good windows of opportunity. Power, extreme magical ability, and anyone who has either of these. The natural world. Trees in particular. Viruses and glitches. Things going wrong. Her own laziness.
despises_ People doing things she doesn't want them to do. Bees, for they are hideously noisy and obviously the spawn of some evil cult god. Children, unless they're her own. The clockwork of technology. Things going wrong. Other people's laziness.
talents_ Aster, unfortunately, was not deemed important enough to have been gifted with any kind of magical talent -- nor does she have any formal training with weapons, so she's pretty much useless in fights. She does, however, run pretty damn fast. She's pretty good at acting, too, lying and manipulating people into doing whatever she wants (comes with being of noble descent.)
hair_ A faded, shimmery gold that seems colorless and silver in direct light.
eyes_ Really, really bright blue-aqua.
height_ Short. Really short. Doesn't even break five feet.
weight_ She doesn't know -- hey, it's not her job to remember those things.
bio_ Once her mother's prodigy, Aster delighted in her family's world of attending dinner parties, dancing, keeping good relations (and appearances), gossiping, and backstabbing (and was quite good at all of these things.) She grew distant from that world over the years -- and especially when her youngest sister Eden was born with a lame foot and uncontrollable powers, throwing her family into chaos.
Eden was kidnapped at a young age, leaving no traces of her whereabouts; there was nothing for Aster to do but to go through a long montage of being trained by ancestral spirits and donning catsuits. She eventually rescued her, of course, and by that time was simply so bad-a** that she had no choice but to continue leading her double life; popular rich brat by day and super secret spy agent by night, with only Eden knowing her secret.
Since then, Aster's worked as many things: assassin, mole, and all sorts of other cool-sounding positions. Recently she's given all that up and started settling down in an attempt to give her sister a crack at a 'normal' life, away from their crazy family and Aster's crazy employers a like.
Aster is also notoriously a pathological liar; it's guaranteed that more than half of her acclaimed 'history' is untrue.
She's a very extroverted person -- whatever she's feeling will become plainly obvious. She's constantly gesturing when she talks, always has to be moving, and is always coming up with crazy plans that never succeed (but at least she tried, right?) She doesn't care much for anyone else's feelings, Eden aside. She's loud, doesn't bother to keep her thoughts or opinions to herself (and heaven knows how opinionated she is), easily insults people, and is easily insulted.
Which is not to say that she's abrasive to everyone she meets; she makes concious efforts to get along, though it doesn't come naturally to her and she honestly only does it for her own advantage. If someone has nothing to offer her (or just plain offends her) then she won't bother with the nice act at all. She's used to lying and manipulating people to get her way.

[ COMING SOON ] We currently live in a large penthouse suite with hottubs and everything. Best part is, we don't even have to pay for it! --Granted, Eden's mother does think that I'm the "GOVERNESS OF THE UNDERWORLD" she hired to look after her, but... What she doesn't know won't hurt her, right? (Besides, Eden likes me much better than that old witch.)
I'm trying to save for a house, though it's obviously not going too well.

April 23rd_ Went to visit my sister, Cerena. She's doin' pretty well, even if her memory's as bad as ever. She gave me this "good luck charm." Excuse me while I laugh for a minute: HAHAHAHA.
April 27th_ ...Went back to the antique store Cerena works in and bought that dollhouse. I have no idea why. Maybe I'm going crazy.
