Are we not to do as Jarlaxle instructed? Naenre smiled, flashing a mischevious glance her twin's way, her hands and facial expression working quickly to silently convey her thoughts. We ARE doing as he instructed, Nal. We are watching and waiting, keeping to the shadows to overhear any sort of communication. Nalfein rolled his eyes, a visible guesture to the two Drow, who could see in the dark even better than in the light of day. But you are trying to entice him to run. He feels the magical energies, Nae, and you can't tell me that he will not flee soon. Then let him flee. the female Drow replied. Let him flee and we will chase him back to his House. We will know who he reports to for certain this time. Her twin pulled farther back into the darkness, letting it cover him completely. The man whom they were spying on could have easily seen them, if he had not been so paranoid and glancing around like a frightened rabbit. Their orders had been to watch him, to make certain that he was reporting to Da'Dalcan and his Guild. Jarlaxle was getting restless, and both twins knew that it was only a matter of time before their group was either discovered and destroyed, or discovered and forced to flee. Neither believed that a single handful of Drow could survive the streets of Calimport, not with an entire city up in arms against them. And neither twin was ready to return to Menzoberranzan just yet.

The breeze was warm, giving a hint that summer was on it's way. The night sky was clear, the stars shinning brilliantly in the light of the wanning moon. Drizzt Do'Urden sighed, his arms behind his head as he laid upon a small grassy knoll. He was not far from Mithral Hall, but he was removed enough to be able to enjoy the simplicities of nature. The Drow Ranger loved nights like this. With Guenhwyvar laying lazily by his side, Drizzt felt as if nothing else in the world truly mattered at that moment.

The night as always was full of those whom could not rest, and one Catti-Brie was one of those people whom was finding it hard to rest, even when so much seemed to be going well in the world ... and yet her instincts told her something was brewing.
Hands held behind her back the auburn haired woman wandered the Knoll knowing that her oldest and most understanding friend was atop it and would as always, be willing to talk to her untill she felt that she was ready to sleep again. And although she knew the area was safe enough she still wore a sword upon her hip after all you could never be too sure just what was going to jump out of the darkness.
With a sigh she dropped herself down next to Drizzt and looked to the stars
"It's a lovely night out"

"Indeed." came the Drow's reply, though he did not turn to face the woman at his side. "It makes me wonder however, if you have come out to search the stars, or to search your own heart." Drizzt did look at Catti-brie then, his lavender eyes sparkling in the moon's light. "Did your own thoughts draw you out to this place tonight, or the beauty of the heavens?"

"Maybe a bit of both"
The woman's gaze left the heavens to look at the Drow, sky blue depths meeting his as Catti-brie gave a simple shrug of her shoulders, showing that she didn't truely know which it was.
After all there where many things people did when unable to sleep but she had come out here to seek him out, maybe for company or maybe for safty while searching the stars ... either way she didn't know what it was that had guided her feet.

The skirmish was over as quickly as started. The orcs crude weapons and panicked attacks were far from effective. Even when out numbered three to one the coordinated elves were able to "hit and move", releasing volleys of arrows then scattering to new locations, before the orcs could gather for an effect counter attack. It was almost a game for the elves they all searched for the leader, striking the best down when they noticed him barking orders in their gruntish language. As new leaders attempted to take command they too were felled with a volley of arrows. It was all just a game. When the orcs turned to flee the elves were close behind making sure they would never return to the Moonwood. They had to make sure none of the scouts could report to their chief about what had happened. If they did, more would come. It was more than just a game now, it was survival.
They tracked the orcs all through the day picking them off one by one. They didnt allow them to rest or regroup. They split up in order to better scatter the orcs as well. As the last panicked orc broke from the brush and started running in the open fields a single elf stepped forward. He was a low ranking ranger in the Moonwood named, Lyon. He held his longbow steady reflexively drawing an arrow from its quiver, drawing it back and firing. He let the first arrow fly directly past the orcs left cheek, drawing a small cut. Maybe it was still a game, but one he and his people would survive. He drew the next arrow fired.
With no weapons there was not much left for the orc but to run. He ran as fast as its bulky green legs could carry him. Me almost there! he though seeing the poorly hidden sentries posted around the perimeter of his camp. He heard the wind whisper beside his left ear and felt a burning sensation. When the orc turned it saw the large gray eyes staring back at it. Again the panick hit the orc and with renewed agility it ran. As it got close enough to the sentries it tried to cry out but the arrow pierced its throat.
Lyon stepped into the clearing scanning the surroundings for more orcs. He looked at the road and sighed feeling the icy wind from the north drift out of the Spin of the World and through his long brown hair. He knew where the roads led in both directions. Icewind Dale to the north, a forrible frozen wastland, was filled with goblins, orcs, giants, barbarians, dwarves, and the meager humans that struggled to live a decent life out there in the Ten Towns. South would eventually take him into the world of cities and empires. He would travel the Sword Coast and eventually reach the corrupted city of Calimport.
The urge for adventuer filled his heart, "Well...it's north, south, or home?" he looked around as if expecting some objection to his sudden urge. He drew a small token. "Heads for north, tails south!"
Tossing the token into the air he caught it quickly and slapped it on the back of his opposite hand. TAILS. "South it is then." He checked his supplies and recovered the few surviving arrows his still had. The road was long and probably dangerous. A risk he didnt mind taking.

Drizzt smiled, his gaze returning to the sky above them. "I feel as if a peace has descended here... like the stars are so beautifully bright that they are telling us to sleep well this night. And yet... neither of us can sleep." he laughed slightly, "It makes me wonder if the stars could be lying."

Catti-Brie smiled a little
"The stars are a contradiction of themselves, giving security and beauty even while danger lurks close by"
The young woman shook her head a little, eyes moving to survey the scenerly, her human eyes only seeing so far in to the darkness even with the light of the moon to aid her.

"Does something unnerve you?" Drizzt asked, scanning the darkness with his own eyes and finding nothing. Guenhwyvar continued to lay at his side, neither sensing anything nearby.

Artemis Entreri scowled at the pickpocket at the corner. The same pickpokect he knew had been "coincendentally" in the same vicitny as Entreri for ten minutes now. The human assassian was no fool. And even a novice woudl notice the theif's poor attempts to trail him.
Entreri ducked into an alleyway and pulled himself up a low roof. He lay flat on his belly, waiting. Still as a shadow, the assassian's efforts were rewarded when the pickpocket came shufflign into veiw.
The trailing theif (most likely orderd to trail his movements) never even saw the jewled dagger coming.
Entreri didn't even bother to hide the body

Nalfein stepped out of the shadows, "You killed him." he spoke, his command of common far better than that of many other Drow. "We were ordered to watch, Entreri, NOT to kill." "Because I would have rather done the killing." his twin sister replied, standing suddenly on Artemis' other side. Neither Drow were overly fond of the assassin, but neither did they hate him. He was a human yes, a non-drow, but he was a skilled human. They valued skills far more than breeding. Such an unusual pair... "So... why did you kill him?" Naenre asked, her eyes locked with Entreri's own gaze.
