That's right. This is a Yugioh Roleplay based around the most overlooked piece of Yuugiou fandom ever: Duelists of the Roses.
Does this look like De Ja Vu? It should, seeing as this was originally a RP that never took off in the forums. hopefully, it'll work out here, and not be 9 pages of T-2 & I's bumps.

1. Explaination of The Game vs. The History
For those who haven't played the game, Duelists of the Roses took place in Mediveal England during the War of the Roses. The War of the Roses was a war between two Houses, the house of YORK, and the house of LANCASTER.
The war got it's name from the two badges of the houses: a White rose for York, and a Red Rose for Lancaster.
...and that's where the game decides to end all common sense and goes all Duelists on us.
Continuing on (up to the point where this RP will take place), the Yorkists managed to grasp a winning position, with Richard III on the throne of England. The only reason why he is still on this throne is because of the Rose Crusaders, controlled by Warwick the Kingmaker (*Pegasus Incarnate*) and led by Christian Rosenkreuz (*Seto Incarnate*) have managed to find a way to train their Familiars for battle purposes. These "Familiars" can take the form of whatever the person decides, through the use of channeling the "spirit" of their familiar through a card.
Sound familiar? (BAD PUN. IGNORE IT.)
It should.
Also, some other miscelanious information pertaing to the RP:
+ Each house is only allowed 4 pagan characters, both cannon and original.
- Why? Because the Church was a force to be reckoned with in the 1480's and you could be killed for it. (Noah is the exception, because he uses the pathetic excuse of having an angel for a familiar)
+It is possible to have multiple Familiars. Rare, but possible.
- Why is it so rare? Becuase in the world of the actual game, Christian, Henry, and Margaret (*Mai Incarnate*) are the only ones who have multiple familiars.
+sometimes I will say "DL" instead of Familiar.
-"DL" is short for "Deck Leader" the proper name for the Familiars used in the game.

2. Rules
Don't worry, if the above confused you, I'll give a brief explanation of the cannon chara in the character section...
Rules
1. No Twinking (Character Controlling)
2. No Godmoding/ Powerplaying
3. (this is an important one) No switching houses without my consent. please.
4. Please be at least semi-literate. Literacy is appreciated, but I understand that some people can't sit and write paragraph after paragraph of dialouge, filler and whatnot. Just do your best ^-^
5.One character per person. This rule may be changed upon request by a person who is actively participating
6. Pairings of any kind are acceptable, just be sure to ask the other person before saying that the two of you are in love
7. I do not support Puppyshipping. Don't even try.
8. If you play a cannon character and want to change your familiar, please PM me before doing so, unless vital to the plot. (or a plot point you're trying to make)
9.At the end of your post put in a pirate or a ninja so I know you read.

*NOTE: because the Yorkist party is seen as the "everyone that's against Yuugi" group, it's hard to pick out signifigant characters to the same degree as Lancastrian characters. That's why the Yorkist house is more lenient/open to original characters.*

*Everyone needs to put a SYNOPSIS of their character's bio/history. Only OCs need a picture/description (unless you want to...)* The bio/history can be completely fabricated, seeing as Roses didn't give us much in the wa of rounding out it's characters.

{You can join! There's no such thing as Roses Cannon, and I'm sure as hell not going to be a stickler to something that doesn't exist ^o^ You'll see what I mean when I say " You have unbelievable freedom with your character" when you can make up almost everything pertaining to their life. ^o^}

{YAY!!!} Character Name: Sebastian Merric (*Mako Incarnate*) House: Undecided, he and Christi go way back, so I guess he is on York's side. For now. {Mwahahaha} Appearence: 23 years old. Moderately tall, well built, x-shaped scar on his left cheek. He has dark blue-black hair which is pulled into a short ponytail in back and has grey eyes. He wears typical pirate atire when in public but is less well kempt when on his ship. Familiar: Legenday Fisherman Bio/History: Sebastian's lifa has allways been spent on the his father was a fisherman/merchant. When Sebastian was 12 years old his fathers ship was attacked by pirates. The pirates killed his fater but spared Sebastian's life so that he could spread tales of their "glory". They left him wit hthe x-shaped scar on his cheek. Sebastian swore revenge against the pirates. As we all know, the best way to find a pirate, is to become one yourself. Thus, Sebastian began his life of piracy. pirate Skills/Abilities/Items: -Uses poison daggers and spears as weapons. {Other skils to be decided/writen later I'm getting lazy...] Additional info: -When Sebastian was 8, Christian snuck aboard Sebastian's fathers ship. {I he was 8... How old was Christi when he snuck on board the ship Rep.? w/e} Sebastian, not often seeing other children about his age, went "OMG FRIEND!!!!". -Sebastian may be a pirate, but he is a pirate with morals. ((See, the lack of cannon is somewhat my problem sweatdrop , cause I'm so much better at roleplaying as set characters. But I'm going to give this a shot. Sorry if the bio sort of sucks, I'm not good at making this type of thing up on the spot.))
Character Name: Henry Tudor
House: Lancaster
Familiar: Black Magician/Black Magician Girl
Bio/History: Growing up a prince, Henry(A name that he truthfully detests; he'd much prefer Yuugi) naturally had a very carefree and pampered childhood. Aside from needing to attend the ocassional class, he typically did whatever he wanted and went where ever he pleased. Because of this laid back lifestyle, his sudden ascension to the throne came as quite a shock to him. It required him to mature very rapidly, and overall he adjusted very well. Some habits die hard, however, like his rather untimely sense of humor and terribly short attention span. The exile to France is driving him crazy. He is tired of lying in wait, and wants to take action. But obviously, he has been overruled many atime on this proposal.
Skills/Abilities/Items: Sennen puzzle(If that counts ^^; ). Capable of some basic level black magick. ninja
