I have no idea how to read it too...
I'm only an astronomer wannabe. All that I know is that the open cluster of stars here forms the constellation Pleaides. You can also see nebulas, which are the bluish clouds that surround some of the stars.

yes same here... im not really have idea how to read that stars location. But its look beautiful yep.. I'd love to look at the stars too sometime from the top of roof on my house. I dont really understand bout astronomy, but as far as im concern traditional people really followin into that. Like farmer, sailorman or fisherman.. they could predict the weather from it.

That's new... I only remember that a civilisation used the Pelaides constellation to mark the time of the year, using it's position as a reference.

Sailors use the 'Southern Cross', otherwise known as the Crux constellation to find the south and avoid being lost. It's easily one of the most visible constellations since there is a lack of a significant pole star in the southern sky.
