Yay Pharaonic's here making herself known in her own forum.. >> am I allowed to.. oh wells. ^^ its yaoi right so everyone should be a ok with it, I hope..
Well I think everyone or some members of this guild answered the question about what pairings do you like, what I want to know is why do the pairings you like work?
For example maybe give a reason why you think Puzzleshipping works..
Heh I'm looking forward to this.. lol. Also maybe explain why some of the couples you don't like work. Yep Im a nosey girl but after seeing people like more then one pairing it's made me curious. ^^ Okays Im gonna go to lessons now, can't wait till I read your answers. Thankies!
Note: Maybe try to be a bit more detailed then just : 'Cos they work and it has Yami in it'

I like Puzzleshipping and blindshipping because it's obvious that Yuugi & Yami/Atemu have a lot of love for each other. You can see it in the anime and the manga. But not necessarily 'in-love'. They care for each other, they have a very unique relationship that they couldn't possibly share with anyone else. I also like it because the relationship is actually realistic. One only has to twist their current relationship, make it a little stronger, for it to actually exist.

Let's see... I might as well explain why I love Prideshipping so people can understand me better. And I won't just say because it's cute.
It may not be as obvious as Puzzleshipping, but it's there if you look close enough. Same with Scandalshipping. Prideshipping is there later on in the Doma arc, especially after Yami lost Yuugi and all.
But my reasons are as follows:
[x] Because Yami and Seto have the same intellect, and both are very prideful people. Hence Prideshipping.
[x]They do work well together at times, although Seto would just as soon deny it. But they make a very good team, especially in tag duels since they are the two best duelists. It makes sense.
[x]Episode 180 anyone? The big reason I like it was in that episode. Seto actually helped Yami out by giving 4,000 extra life points so he could still be there to fight Dartz. That and Yami actually caught Seto instead of letting him fall to the floor.
[x] Yami seems rather possessive over Seto as time goes on, especially in the duel against Dartz and after he lost him too. But earlier he wouldn't have really cared what happened.
[x]Over time their rivalry seems to be dying down just a little bit, possibly leading toward friendship if nothing else. But we all know where friendship can potentially lead.
[x] And of course my favorite quote is a big reason why I like Prideshipping. "I trusted you, now you trust me." You can't get better than that.
But of course we are all entitled to what we like and all. Just thought I'd list my reasons why I love Prideshipping so much.
Oh, I guess I should say why Puzzleshipping would work... you did say to list ones you didn't like. That and you used it as an example. So I'll have to dig deep into my brain for this one.
I guess the only thing I can think of is the bond that Yami and Yuugi already share, and that gives them a big advantage over other couples and such. But that's about all I can think of right now. I guess their bond could eventually lead to something more than friendship and all. But I don't know, I'm just trying to figure it out myself.

Herm, well I like a lot of pairings, and it's be too much to explain them all(To be honest, some have no realy explanation, I just like 'em sweatdrop ) so I'm going to go with my two favorites; puzzle and pride.
puzzleshipping:Fact is, Yami and Yuugi have a really strong bond, and it's not just a Yami-omote thing, either. Ryou is hardly aware of Yami no Bakura's existance, and Yami no Bakura just uses him most times, and Yami no Malik would just as happily get rid of Malik(which he in fact tries to do). I certainly don't think either of these instances are a special bond, so it's not just the fact that they're Yami and omote.
But I definitely think that sharing a body and being that close all the time certainly helps a lot. I mean, if you were in a situation when you could be that close to a person all the time and get to know them inside and out, it's very likely that it would lead to a deeper relationship.And I don't think that Yami and Yuugi would be an example of love at first sight, it was a relationship that was developed over time.
And Yuugi, normally shy and lacking entirely in self-confidence(At least, as the series begins) several times finds the courage within himself to risk his life for Yami. The fire in the warehouse(Or Otogi's store whichever version you go by), the seal of orichalcos and the duel with Bakura in the pharaoh's world of memories being a couple of examples.
Then there's Yami, typically the braver and stronger of the two. They've lost several people closed to them throughout the course of the show, suguroku and Jounouchi being a couple of them, and Yami, though he was upset, managed to rescue them with no real problem. But when he loses Yuugi to the seal of orichalcos, he simply doesn't know what to do with himself.
And let's face it, calling someone you're partner can be taken several ways. 3nodding
prideshipping: Ok, there's no doubt that these two strongly dislike each other when they first meet, but that changes...And these two just have undeniable chemistry.
First off, Seto makes it his sole mission for a period of time to duel and defeat Yami. Even if he makes it out to be just cause he wants to duel Yami, well, he's absolutely obsessed with him. It's boderline stalker. o_O And ever notice how even though Seto supposedly hates Yuugi-tachi he always still helps them out, but completely disregards pretty much everyone but Yami?
And all that time that Seto was a jerk to Yami never stopped Yami from still attempting to become friends, which they eventually do. I mean, it's sort of a strange friendship, but if you consider they're personalities, then I would definitely consider their status by the end of the series to be friends.
In the tag duel with mask of light and mask of darkness there was definitely some serious flirting going on, though it's much more present in the manga then the anime. And Buka pretty much said it all about episode 180. From a more scandal point of view the look Seto gave Atemu right after he'd arrived at the battle with Touzouku in episode 209 clearly held much more meaning that simple cousinly bonding.
What about how Seto is anxious to help Atemu complete his destiny by dueling him in the ceremonial duel? Or, how after Yuugi is selected as Atemu's oponent Seto comes along to watch, and when questioned about it by Jounouchi says it's because he'd like to see mou hitori no Yuugi duel one last time. Hm...:3

I totally forgot about the Pride hints in the Lumis and Umbra duel. There was some definite flirting now that you bring it up. There was some in that episode I mentioned where Seto was telling Yami "I trusted you, now you trust me." Especially the way they were looking at each other. It was a smirk, but it could have easily turned into a smile.
But I do fear for the start of the Ceremonial Duel. They are so going to change Seto's dialog for his reasons in seeing Yami duel one last time. I was pleased with 218 though.
Anywho... I know I'll find many more. I could start a Prideshipping topic if that's alright with you, Ohkami-san.

But, seriously, you've all made some very good points. I'm going to go over my DVDs and look carefully for the things you said.
