I just finished playing the Japanese version of Xenosaga Episode II and currently working on the II in which I recovered my corrupted data from the memory card after playing some few hours of Xenosaga Episode I.
Anywho...
I'm really not at all impressed with Xenosaga Episode II for some reason. Even though it has two discs... it seems MUCH shorter then Xenosaga Episode I. Considering they did cut down on cutscenes the game still lacks something.
The battle system is fine and dandy, but...
For some reason on-field playing just seems to go by too fast then what it did in Xenosaga Episode I. There's hardly any on-field playing puzzles to figure out like you had to in Xenosaga Episode I.
Further more, they really don't give as much detailed information as they did in Xenosaga Episode I. I mean come on, that was so retarded how they did the switch between disc I to disc II, that entire scene could and should have been playable.
So for me, Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht is WAY better then Xenosaga Episode II. I miss the old script writer already, it's ashame she resigned.
What is your opinion on the two games? Care to give a comparison perhaps?

Hmm so far I like both but I'm only at Orgulla in Ep.2 so it may change by the end of the game. For story, Ep.1 wins but I liked Ep.2's fighting system better and I hope it's not too short, I finished disc 1 in only 12 hours so I'm kind of worried :/. I really liked all the changed they made to the characters and I think the dungeons in Ep.2 are better.

The second disc is much longer than the first one. Hmm.., it seems that the the second game had more dungeon crawling and less cut scenes. I say bring back the giant amount of cut scenes! It just makes Xenosaga seem more Xenosaga-ish..., to me at least.
MOMO and KOSMOS's new voices are changed for the worst. KOSMOS doesn't sound like a strong andriod-thing anymore. She sounds like a teenage girl trying to sound robotic. MOMO sounds like a little boy...ugh...

Meh thoughts on Xeno2:
I hate the new VA's for Shion, KOSMOS, MOMO, and Pelligri. Argh. And Shion and Momo have an annoying laugh. Shion has become an idiot. Kosmos sounds too weak and girly. Momo sounds like someone trying REALLY hard to be cute, but failing. Pelligri sounds bitchie.
Jin's socks look odd. And Ziggy's swimsuit is mean and degrading! ...A snorkal?
I like the new E.S. battles.
The music for Second Milita and the Foundation is ANNOYING.
Although the story is good enough for me to still like the game even with the annoying VAs.
I'm currently at Proto Omega. And, I don't want to continue because I don't want to finish it ;-; 'Tis too short.

Ziggurat the Eighth Jin's socks look odd. And Ziggy's swimsuit is mean and degrading! ...A snorkal? Lol, Jin's socks... And I don't mind Ziggy's swimsuit, really. The snorkel more reminds me of a visor of sorts. You know, co-op. Of course, that could just be me. e_e

The snorkal is the tube coming down the side of his face and is J-shaped. Which he would use to breathe through if he went swimming/snorkaling. EXCEPT, if he doesn't need to breathe in space, then he wouldn't need to breathe under water either! So, IT'S POINTLESS. And looks bad. And he has KOSMOS-like vision. So I think the goggles would semi-blind him. Also, when fighting Albedo (last battle) Jr was in his swimsuit- it looked so funny! xd whee And Albedo's ending would have looked better if the Kirshwassers (or however they be spelt, yarr) were wearing white, and NOT their uniform thing. That looked ODD. eek

That looked ODD. eek Well, yeah, the tube DOES seem a might out of place but other than that, I wasn't totally bothered. Goggles....snorkel. I...yeah... sweatdrop And d00d, I was the same way in the battle against Albedo. XD I forgot that he still had his swimsuit on after the battle with Patriarch and then when came the final battle, I burst into a giggle fit cuz I didn't expect it. Px I'm such a weirdo..

I did that on the Japanese version. XD I really enjoyed that one, but during the american version ill keep it normal.
Did anyone equip the swimsuits in Episode I on the last battle? I want some screenshots if anyone has any.

I don't think they looked like those in Episode II, though. If I remember right, you just equipped them for their status enhancements. No change in appearance... Of course, I could be wrong... Haven't played Episode I in a lil while.. sweatdrop
