HEAVY METAL RUUUUULLEESSSSSS

Great band, great tunes, great live show, great, great, GREAT!

That's all you can say about the band really. Born as a thrash band in Germany with the album Heavy Metal Breakdown, they quickly progressed to be one of the best thrash-based power metal bands of this day.

With a**-kicking singalong songs and riffs that move your head and raise your fist as if by magic, they're truly a band to behold.

Buy the Excalibur album and then go from there, you will not be dissappointed.

I like Rheingold best. Every song on the album is fantastic. Murderer and Dragon are my two favorites. Boltendahl's vocals are the best; he has a sound unlike anyone else in the music business. Schmidt's guitar skills are unrivaled as well.

Grave Digger is easily one of my favorite Power Metal bands.

You either love his voice, or you hate it.

I absolutely love it.

As for favourite songs, I really like Pendragon and Knights of the Cross.

A great band without a doubt, the vocals make for a welcome change to your more common power vocal style. "Rheingold" is my favourite album by them. "Last Supper" is an absolute epic of an album too. Haven't yet heard "Excalibur".

I've never had the privilege of hearing ANYTHING by Grave Digger. I'm sort of slow in introducing myself into new bands; when I find a band I like, I try to buy multiple CDs by them before I go on, instead of buying CDs of different bands.

Does anyone else think the guitar riff in Excalibur sounds like the guitar riff in Painkiller?

I've never made that connection. I see what you're getting at though, with the tremelo picked arpeggios.
