I was just thinking of some of the stupider things I've done in my life, and because I'm so very ancient, I probably have more than most of the rest of you, including, but not limited to:
Standing in the street in a raging storm that produced roadway flooding, and removing the lid to a manhole cover to let the rain go down faster.
Boarding up the windows of a three-story beachfront house with large sheets of plywood ... in a hurricane.
Flying in a Cessna into Miami International Airport.
Give me some time, I'll think of some more ... gonk

That's not too bad. Stories of doing stupid stuff are fun though.
Have you ever given yourself a haircut. I had no choice and considering the fact that I wasn't using a mirror, I did a pretty good job. It was still stupid though.

I have cut my own hair, but never without using a mirror. That'd be just ... stupid. mrgreen Actually, my hair is very straight, and for me, that would be suicidal ... you have to be precise to cut straight hair.

The only stupid thing I can think of that I've done at the moment was burning myself with an iron as I was getting ready to sing a concert. I was holding my shirt and sort of forgot that my hand was on the ironing board. So I grazed the side of my hand with the iron. I had a nice 3 inch burn for about 4 months or so...

Ow. I have curly hair so it's easier to cut myself. I'm afraid to list more of the stupid things i've done. I don't want to look too stupid.

Blossom, ow, burns! Your story reminds me of ANOTHER stupid thing I did. I was in college, and taking a stained glass course before classes started in the fall. I was concentrating on the piece I was making, went to pick up the soldering iron, which was hot, didn't watch my hand, and picked up the hot tip in my fingertips. When they say your fingertips have tons of nerves in them, they're not kidding. Every one of my finger pads had blisters on them, hurt like hell for weeks. gonk
C'mon, Burger, I'm telling you all the dumb things I've done. Your turn.

haha! i could tell some of BB's stories... but I won't be mean (for once).
Another time I burned myself was in high school chemistry class. We had been heating something over a flame. We held whatever we were heating on an iron ring (part of the ring stand). Yeah, so I "forgot" that the iron had a flame under it for the past half hour/40 minutes or so and when we went to put away the equipment, I grabbed the part of the ring that was right over the flame. Ouch.
Another time, I was cooking dinner at home. I was in 7th or 8th grade. Part of the meal was rice. So I measured the rice, the salt, all the ingredients - except the water. Mom came down 40 minutes later to see if everything was ready. When she opened the rice pot, it looked like I was cooking orzo pasta instead of rice.

I did something stupid tonight. I made a bet with Blossom even though I had the feeling I was going to lose.
I've been having trouble with words lately too. I'm in a play and one of my lines involves saying "building burnt down" and I keep saying "burning built down" instead. That's probably the least of the stupid word-mistakes I've made in the past few days.

Yeah, I'll pay tomorrow. It's not as bad as the time I forgot to grease the pan while baking a cake. That was fun. We had a heap-cake.

I think it was just a friendly competition at work to see who could get more pledges for the Royal Fund.

Yes! We actually ended up majorly exceeding our goal for the semester, and there's still 2-3 weeks of calling left...
