I got so completely bored one day, I decided to design my own portable console. I was using an old Windows machine, and the best program I had to work with was MS Paint. Here's what I came up with:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/sabaal/untitled.jpgYeah, I know. It's kinda ugly.
sweatdrop I posted this image on a forum, and got plenty of feedback. Taking this feedback into consideration, I sat down at my own computer, which has Inkscape on it, and drew up a quick Version2 of this handheld:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/sabaal/g6404.pngThese circular pads which you see are multifunctional. They are made of flexible rubber, and underneath each is a circular array of 24 to 32 pressure-sensitive contact points. This allows each pad to perform the functions of an analog stick, d-pad, or, because each segment is separated by small bumps, even a set of four individual buttons.
This makes my shiny handheld device something that might not be expected form a package so small: the perfect gaming PC! Not only is the current-gen standard of input built-in, but the system's extensibility ensures that any game in the world, including those which need a keyboard, or even the Revolution's new freehand pointer, could be emulated and played on-the go. And, because I don't know an OS in the world which isn't capable of playing music and movies, the system also surpasses the PSP in multimedia functionality.
But hey, I'm not satisfied with just making what we already have smaller. I need to take Nintendo's spiffy new motion-sensing games with me too.

xp So, yeah, I'm out of things to say. I'm still working on both of these, so I'll take any suggestions I'm given. Or you could just tell me I suck at drawing. Whatever works for you.
