Actually, Karel (FE7) is the best SM, out of the NA/UK release. Look at his bad a** self.

I think Gerik is better off as a hero. Neimi is the one who needs the Ranger, seeing as Snipers are on the verge of useless in SS for a pointless skill and lack of ballistae.

Assaisans can kill all if given a killing edge because of their silencer.
I wonder what would happen if an assaisan got a silencer against a general with a great sheild activated?
