They're cheesy!
Their lyrics are stupid and childish!
They're gay!

This seems to be all I hear from people about Manowar.

However, the masters of the wind are one of the worlds most inspiring and unique bands to have touched the Earth. There's no feeling quite like the feeling that Manowar can give. People complain about obsessive Manowar fans, but it's real easy to see how people can get that.

Manowar save lives. Fact.

Their emotionally charged, upbeat, heroic heavy metal arrangements and proud, heart-wrenching lyrics make them worthy of their self-given title 'Kings of Metal'.

There's something empowering about musicians who really ******** believe what they're saying.

"I believe in the fans, I believe in metal more than anybody you've ever met. And you've known me a long time. And I don't stab the fan in the back."

and

"Each day, you wake up and get out of bed knowing that there is s**t waiting for you. Each day is a struggle, a battle and you must prepare for these battles, these wars. You have to be prepared. That is where the spirit of MANOWAR comes in. It is for everybody, both men and women, who have the fighting spirit. You either fight to win or you throw up your hands and admit that you are ******** band has done more for the true spirit of Heavy Metal than Manowar.

And as for purile childish lyrics, I give you this line from 'Master of the Wind'

"When the wind fills the sky the clouds will move aside
And there will be the road to all our dreams
For any day that stings two better days it brings
Nothing is as bad as it seems"

So with that, I give you Manowar.

I'd reccommend the albums 'Warriors of the World' and 'Louder than Hell' although all their albums kick a whole lot of a**.

The rules also allow topics about "bands that influenced Power Metal" in the main forum. I'd say Manowar belongs there wink

Manowar came too late to be a huge influence on most Power Metal acts.

I love Manowar. DeMaio is a few sandwiches short of a picnic but that doesnt change the fact they're a stunningly talented band.

Is it true Eric Adams cant sing out of tune?

EPIC!!!

i wasn't too into Manowar initially because of the vocals and the homo-erotic clothing....but...they do indeed kick a**! they represent all that is metal and all that is epic, and that makes them awesome! i haven't heard a ton of their stuff, but i've got 2 albums and some assorted songs that i love.

Blood of the Kings and Call to Arms are probably my fav tracks thus far...

which album is the thing about blood streaming like a young girl in her prime on? i want to hear that ******** song!

The line is "May your sword stay wet, like a young girl in her prime. Hold your hammers high" and it's on (as DraztiK pointed out) the track Hail and Kill. Which is on Kings of Metal.

For classic lines though, listen to the song 'Master of the Wind'

That's a ******** choon and a half.

Also, if you like your songs EPIC, try to get hold of 'Achilles: Agony and Ecstacy in Eight Parts' which is on The Triumph of Steel

For best albums, get Warriors of the World and Louder than Hell. Both rock solid albums.

That would be the song Master of the Wind. I think it's on the Triumph of Steel but don't quote me on that.
