We have no Kamelot thread. So here I am, intending to fix that. Kamelot are one of the best bands I've ever heard. Their wonderful use of eastern-sounding melodies, meeting with pounding heavy metal rhythms, fuses to create a wonderful power metal entity. The Black Halo is a fantastic album, and easily one of the best releases, if not the best, of 2005. For first albums, I'd reccommend you get Karma. There's not a single weak track on it.

Kamelot! OH man these guys are amazing. I don't have any of their full albums, but I have quite a bit of their songs. The first song I heard by them was The Fourth Legacy and I couldn't stop listening to it. I love how powerful yet how soft the singer's voice is.
I've heard bits and pieces from Black Halo and Karma, actually. They're really freaking awesome! Yay for Kamelot.
(PS Stormbeard, thanks for accepting me in)

One my favourite bands at the minute.
I don't think they really picked up until The Fourth Legacy. Their first two albums (with Mark Vanderbilt, who wasn't as good as Roy Khan in my opinion) weren't up to much, and Seige Perilous wasn't very good either. But eek The Fourth Legacy is absolutely excellent, Karma is just as good, Epica is brilliant and The Black Halo is top notch.

Shlee101 (PS Stormbeard, thanks for accepting me in) No worries. You answered our questions and passed with flying colours. Welcome to the home of the brave. Kamelot really surprised me when I caught them live. They were cooler than an ice cream holidaying in the Arctic.

His voice is absolutely stunning and his melodies border on perfection at times.

His melodies are incredible, and what I admire is that his voice is also rather soft yet still very powerful.

"you will find the New Allegiance like a beacon in the night if you're searching for salvation reach inside there's a new world approaching a fire to be seen in following The Fourth Legacy" -Fourth Legacy
Whenever I hear that chorus, I like, sing along (really crappy singing, I must add) and I get all happy. I love it! Those lyrics and the instrumentals along with it just give me such a good rush!

The vocalist on their first two albums (Mark Vandebilt?) can't compare to Roy Khan. Roy Khan is a much better vocalist.

Brave Odysseus The vocalist on their first two albums (Mark Vandebilt?) can't compare to Roy Khan. Roy Khan is a much better vocalist. Totally. As for favourite songs. I really like the Elizabeth trilogy, and Soul Society. However the entire Karma album is awesome.

Great musicians. The key arrangements are to die for.
Though, you have to admit, Roy isn't bad of a singer at all. I mean, compared to a lot of other singers, he's pretty good.
Favorite Albums: Epica, Karma, and The Fourth Legacy
Top Five Songs:
1. Center of the Universe 2. The Haunting (Somewhere in Time) 3. Birth of a Hero 4. Forever 5. Nothing Ever Dies
I can't believe I found their cd's in the mall...out of all places.
