Is it a cat? Is it a boy? No, it's a cat-boy!
Da-da... Da-da... dadadadadadadada... Cat-boy! rofl
Seriously, though he seems to be a fairly normal cat-boy with illusion powers. Of course, if you were to use him on Battlenet's West servers, you would quickly be treated to several inventive ways on how he could be cooked/killed, since nekos on B.net are considered a plauge that must not be allowed to breed.
All in all, it seems like you could write some interesting stories using this character. If you do, please share.

That's why I put the warning up. Some people really hate catboys in a really serious way. They want to - as you pointed out - kill them. Mostly because people tend to play them in a Sueish/unrealistic way. I may end up getting rid of his powers, since he never seems to use them. mrgreen
I tried to make him more realistic and less cliche. I've had cat-people along these lines since I was about ten years old. Initially, it was because I couldn't draw people. Later, it was just because I really like cats. When I write him, I make him act very feline - he washes himself with his tongue, plays with yarn... stuff like that.
When I get more written in the prequel, I'll post it someplace for people to read.

NEKO ROAST!
Now that I've let out my inner Battle.net'er out of the way, I'll act normal.
I see nothing really wrong with it, but it's not really a phenomenal profile. He's not Sueish, by any means -- but he's still something of the typical catboy.
But I'm biased. A lot. (Still, don't think I'm trying to be mean -- he's fine, he really is; just nothing out of the ordinary catboy character realm.)
And m'mm, but them nekos taste good with tarter sauce.

What about catboys annoys everyone... perhaps I can excise those traits from his character and replace them with some less annoying traits.

I'm not sure, maybe it's the adorable, cattish tendencies, like playing with yarn and whatnot. But when you get rid of those habits, all you really have is a person with cat-like body parts. And that just doesn't make much sense at all. @_@

Therefore, it all depends on how much of a catboy you really want him to be. Of course, then you would be succumbing to other people's desires, and then your character would no longer be solely yours, but that isn't always a bad idea. After all, just look at Charlosi.

If i did that - I might just as well make him a regular human and be done with it. The way I picture him... he's not the type to see a string or dangling piece of yarn and just jump on it. It would probably serve as a distraction - he'd stare at it and then blink and shake his head and try not to stare at it, but keep doing so. He's got less of the playful, innocent, childlike qualities than the description the Guild's creator gave would indicate. Mostly because I'm familiar enough with cats to know that they really do grow out of some of that "cute" behavior.

Indeed, Odie doesn't pounce on everything that twitches. That's why Sammy annoys us when he does. We just aren't used to kittens. stare 3nodding
