So, after giving them a thorough listen, I've decided At the Drive-in's exceeds "fuggin' amazing" to "god s**t amazing." I like Relationship of Command much much more than all their other stuff though. Unfortunately they're broken up. But they've formed the Mars Volta. I'm not really sure if I like the Mars Volta though, I've only heard a few songs and I don't think they're quite as good.

the mars volta is obviously talented, but sometimes it gets a little annoying with the wailing and distortion. and don't even get me started on sparta.
i wish at the drive-in was still a whole. they were awesome.

I've heard very little of ATDI, but I've heard a fair amount from Mars Volta and thought they were alright. The only thing I didn't care for was the seemingly excessive dragging on in some of their songs. I loved Deloused a lot more than Frances the Mute

I Think they released a greatest hits and DVD sometime within the past two years.
I'd recommend anything other than Frances The Mute for getting into Mars Volta. De-Loused or Scab Dates, Tremulant or even their live EP are a lot easer to get into.
And yeah, avoid Sparta. That's the band all the untalented ATDI members decided to form. I think one of them recently defected to Mars Volta.

TMV finished recording/mixing their new album. Should be out this spring, apparently.

I went out and bought myself a new copy of Relatioship of command, becasue the old one was worn-out.
They've rereleased it with extracuricular on it... It breaks the flow of the album.

sparta is not good, thats been cleared up. mars volta, though, is amazing. the more i listen to them, the more i like them. de-loused in the comatorium is one of my favorite albums.

Vermicide was leak'd yester-day, and I finally managed to get a copy via a friend, and I must say, I quite like it. Too short for a TMV song, but I'm really digging it. Definately the Volta.
Here's looking towards the album.
