Also, do you have any interesting/fond memories of reading as a litte kid or learning how to read?
My favorite book was If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. I still have it. xd
I remember when I was in kindergarten there was this little girl that had been held back a grade for some reason so, she was in kindergarten for the second time and, already knew how to read. The teacher had her read to the class and I was so-o amazed and jealous that she could read! Why was I jealous of someone unfortunate enough to be staying back a grade? 0.o
Also, I loved my elementary school librarian. heart

Well, I grew up on Dr. Seuss and my favorite was always Red Fish Blue Fish. The Cat in the Hat and How the Grinch Stole Christmas I also loved very much, so I was quick to buy them when they came out on video. But they've yet to make a Red Fish Blue Fish movies darn it.
My mom taught me to read before I went into kindergarten because she wanted me to excel (and she had to find somewhere for all of my talk to go. It took me a while to walk, if I even have it down now, but I was quite the talker, unfortunately for my family). So I was a pretty good reader going into kindergarten. But I got so shy I couldn't read out loud. >.<

I love the Dr. Seuss books too! I often say that he is my favorite poet, only half joking. You know what would have made a great cartoon? To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, I think that's the correct title for it but, you know what I mean anyway. I also really like Yertle The Turtle. Good lesson there.

I think my favorite book was probably Courderoy. (I don't think I spelled that right, but I can never remember how to spell it.)
My favorite memory of reading when I was little is about me and my little sister. It was before I could even read, but I would get little books and pretend that I was reading to her, and she would believe me and she thought that I was just so grown up because I could read. It really made her look up to me. biggrin

My BOOK BOOK is "The Little train that could." o.o...Even though I'm a good reader, this is so ironic.. I knew how to read before I learned how to talk, which was at age 3...o.o... I could read Gone With The Wind in a week, and tell u about it..o.o At 3rd grade, I also loved my librarian! (had moved, stayed at area for 1 year..) Danmit, me miss her! I think he name was..Mrs. Conners...She gave me presents, cause I was a regular visitor to the library.... Wanna know a secret? I learned about anime and maga at 6th grade..o.o..lol, I'm so addicted to it now..

"Go, Dog Go!" was my favorite book as a 'learning to read' adolecsant, myself.
When I was in 4th grade or so it was the Wishbone adaption: "Homer, Sweet Homer" based on the Odysessy, of course.

Jack's Hat. It was thiks awesome story that I loved so much my mom actually got sick of reading it with me. I had it memorized and she couldn't skip pages... Now my 5 year old sister is discovering it (some sicko bought us another copy, and my mom almost cried when she saw it)
My other favourite was The Balloon Tree, I was a girl obsessed... babysitter used to take me and my brother and sister to the library once a week. I borrowed that book EVERY WEEK for the entire summer. biggrin I still love it actually. I bought my sister a copy for her birthday so I could read it with her.
I never got into Dr. Seuss because my mom actually told people not to get us Dr. Seuss books because she hated reading them. Now I read them to the kids I babysitt. I love them, but I understand why my mom doesn't...

I loved this book that was a parody of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I read it allowed to the awed and frusterated kindergarden class, and from then on I always was sent to read the kindergarden class a book once a year. I always read the parody, no matter how advanced my reading was advancing. The teachers figured that, by being an older kid, I was making reading look cool, and the kids would try harder to learn how to read. In return I'd get to pick out a free book from our school collection. Of course, their whole idea of making reading look cool didn't really work out, considering I was the least popular person in my class, and it being a small elememntry school, most people knew this. But then I moved, and the tradition stopped, and I was put into "Intermediate school" (The area this school district was in was extremely popular. They had divided elementry school levels into 3 different campuses, each building huge.) Which was saddening, because I love reading aloud and watching everybody look up at me so attently, and voicing out the characters... but my social life got considerably better, and off went depression, so I guess it was a fair trade. XD
