just thought we'd put some random facts up. I'll start, I suppose.
David Troughton - Patrick Troughton's son - appeared as an extra alongside his father in "The Enemy of the World". He later played King Peladon in Jon Pertwee's "The Curse of Peladon". He was sharing a flat with an future 6th doctor - Colin Baker - at the time.
For its entire run, the series did not have a "bible" to keep it consistent. Later in the series run, the production team started consulting fans on continuity matters.

Tom Baker trained to be a monk, and Sylvester McCoy a priest. Both gave up, obviously.

The Second Doctor - Patrick Troughton - made an appearance in The Goodies playing the evil scientist Dr Petal. The Third Doctor - Jon Pertwee - made an appearance in the Carry On film Carry On Screaming! playing the unfortunate scientist Dr Fettle. The Sixth Doctor - Colin Baker - made his first appearance in Doctor Who playing the nasty Commander Maxil... a name which almost rhymes with Petal and Fettle, though obviously he was not a Dr.
Ok so it doesn't really rhyme... but when I found out about the first two I was desperate to find a third one to match...

while david tennant was at school, he wrote an essay on why he wanted to be doctor who when he grew up.
Looks like his dream came true.

Christopher Ecclestone starred in many gritty northern dramas before appearing in Doctor Who....as well as a lacklustre film adaptation of Jude the Obscure with Kate Winslet in the nineties.
It was here he had a pig's bladder thrown at him ninja
I should probably check that fact but I swear it was him xD

During the filming of one of the older episodes of doctor who, there was no one to help the people in the Dalek suits out during brake and there was a line of Daleks in London lining up to go to the toilet at trafalga square.

Toby Whithouse, the writer of "School Reunion", played the role of Alastair in Bridget Jones's Diary. A movie which, incidentally, I have never seen.

David Tennant, was the voice of the caretaker in Doctor Who Scream of the Shalka, working along side Richard E. Grant, who did the voice for the 9th doctor.

Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who and was used as the name on the preview tapes of Rose in the hopes of preventing theft of the eppisode before it aired. Didn't work though cause it leeked it's way onto the internet from canada.

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, David Tennant played the bad guy, and Roger Lloyd-Pack played the good guy. Interestingly they were father and deranged son!
Now, in Doctor Who, the roles are reversed! (See episodes 5 & 6...)
