The sun was setting the sky painted orange with a spalsh of pink and purple. "Uh no, I better get home before the sun goes down." Maria thought quickening her pace glancing at her pocket watch it read 6:45 the sun was going to go down in ten minutes. Maria didn't want to be caught in the dark there were so many reasons why, and vampires were the biggest reason of all. Vampires and humans co-existed in Maria's home of Los Vieta but it was better not to go out at night when vampires were most dangerous, most people didn't go out at night for the fear of getting attacked.


Maria was halfway home when the streetlights came on she quicken her pace to a slight run. Then, Maria tripped over a crack in the sidewalk landing on her arm a wave of pain shot up her arm"You look like you need some help." A voice said gently extending a hand Maria accepted it standing on her feet "Thank..." Maria's voice got caught in her throat fear spread through out her body, she pulled out the cross tucked underneath her shirt "Stay...away...you demon." Maria stammered the vampire laughed "I thought you would be alot smarter...hunter." The vampire replied with a smirk Maria lunged angrily at the vampire, it graceously stepped to the side Maria stumbled over her own footing the vampire caught her around the middle, "You got to be more careful Maria." It whispered into her ear.
