(Okie dokie, all set! ^_^)
"Why aren't you off necking?"
"What?!" In the year it had taken for Shining Height's first Clutch after the death of their Weyrwoman to mature into full dragons, all of the dragon's riders had also matured. An exceptionally pretty Kai twirled about, her hair longer than it once was and the skirt she was wearing swirling about her ankles as she stared at Neci, who had snuck up behind her, unnoticed.
"You heard me," Necia replied with a grin, leaning against the wall as Kai turned from the clothes she was putting away. "Why aren't you off in a dark room somewhere with our lovely little bronze rider?"
Kai's face began to flush with color. She and S'tesch weren't officially dating, but for some weeks now they had been a bit more serious than "friends", although that certainly didn't enter into the realm of '"necking".
"Necia..."
"Oh, I'm just kidding. However, where is our lovely Bronzerider?"
"I think that he's off Searchriding." Kai bent over to finish putting the clothing away. "He should be back later."
"Uh huh. Are you busy?"
"After this? No." Kai grinned over her shoulder at Necia. "Why? What did you have in mind?"
"Oh, I don't know. It's a lovely day out; we could take the dragonesses down to bathe, if you'd like."
"Sure! Sounds lovely." Kai shut the drawer with a smile. "Moving hasn't been easy, I'll say that."
Vanecia smiled at the Junior Weyrwoman, looking around the young woman's new quarters. "They're nice, though."
"Mmmm. All right, let me get a towel and we can head down." Kai disappeared for a minute, then reappeared with two towels. "All right, I am ready."
Vanecia linked arms with her friend and the two cheerfully headed down to the lake.
Regalth, Necia and I are going to head down to the lakeside. Will you come bathe?
Piroth, come down to the lake and spend some time with Kai and Regalth and me.
We will meet you there, the two dragons replied together.

M'tri sighed as he emerged from the Weyrwoman's weyr. He and Kaereth had arrived only an hour or so before and were met by Fiacha. He had immediately given her his transfer papaers and had gone to her weyr to be interviewed. Now it was over and he was free!
Hey, Kaereth, where are you?
I'm on the ledge of our new weyr.
So you picked it without me?
Yep.
M'tri sighed, rubbing a hand through his curls. He'd get Kaereth to show him later.
Mine?
What?
Let's go to the Lake. I'm bored and two humans and their dragons are going there.
Fine.
I'll be down to pick you up.
Sure enough, the big Shadow descended and M'tri hopped up. The two then took off, arrowing towards the Lake. They passed over the two women and landed in the water. "KAERETH!" he bellowed, loosening the straps that held him to his Shadow's back. The now peeved young man swam to shore, disgruntled at his now soaking appearance. "Great."

Kai and Vanecia both shrieked, although later Necia would strenuously deny it. At the moment, however, the fact that the two woman had just been half-drenched by lake water took precendence. Piroth and Regalth, lazily swooping over the Bowl towards their riders, snorted in amusement, a feeling that both females recieved.
Don't you be so amused by this! Neci snapped at Piroth, which only increased her Scarlet's attitude towards the situation.
"Oh, this towel is completely useless now!" Kai lamented, looking at the sopping wet object that had protected her from her collarbone up. Unfortunately, her clothing was completely plastered to her body. She sighed and tossed it onto a nearby rock so that it wouldn't have sand stick to it, then proceeded to hike her skirt up to midthigh and wring water from it.
"Ooh, Kai, very risque," Necia teased, squeezing water from her own shirt.
"Hush. I only wish I'd brought a change of clothing...." Necia grinned at her friend's words, then looked voer to the lake to see what had made the wide shadow that had passed over them, and the subsequent splashing.
"Ah, a Shadow. That explains it."
Kai's head snapped up. "A full Shadow? New?"
It appears so. I do not know him, Regalth replied as she and Piroth took careful perches, the former on a ledge near the lake and the latter on the shore itself.
Grinning, Necia wandered over to lean against Piroth as she watched the man swim from the lake. "It looks like you got it worse than either of us," she called out, attracting Kai's attention to the rider of the dragon she had been carefully expecting.

Hearing voices, M'tri looked up to see the two women, who were soaked. A sheepish expression grew on his face as he fully left the water and headed over to the two of them, raking a large hand through his sopping curls. "Hey, I'm really sorry about that. Kaereth is rather...spontaneous for a Shadow I must admit." he murmured, his voice soft as his blue eyes looked the two of them over. "I'm M'tri, by the way. I just got here a few hours ago. I'm still not sure about all the new mutations. Kaereth was just an oddball."
There was a snort and bubbles floated to the surface, making M'tri grin. "Kaereth doesn't liked being referred as that." He again looked back to the women, noticing how appealing the younger one looked. Prettier than anyone back home, he had to admit. "So, what are your names? And your dragons' names? I like meeting new people." he told them, throwing them both a charming grin.

Kai was speechless in the face of this stranger, even more so than usual.
With an easy grin of her own, Necia pushed off her dragon and offered M'tri a hand. "Vanecia, Sweeprider, rider of Scarlet Piroth here." Piroth exhaled through her nose in greeting. "Don't worry, this is a Weyr full of misfits, and we all fit in perfectly here. Spot for everyone and all." She looked over at Kai, who was still staring up at the handsome stranger in startlement. Necia grinned, understanding her friend's reaction.
"You caught us a bit off guard there, Shadow rider M'tri," the redhead said, to cover for Kai's silence.

M'tri took her hand, shaking it firmly but gently. "Yes, I see that. And I was probably more off guard than the both of you were. Or maybe not. Sometimes I even confuse myself." he said with a small laugh. "So, Vanecia, it is a pleasure to meet you. But what about Miss Silent behind you?" he asked, looking down at the two of them and crossing his arms, a friendly smile on his face.
((Wow..really short))

Kai blinked, then realized she had to say something. A smile, hesitant smile on her lips, she shyly replied, "Kaivani, rider of Prism Regalth, Junior Weyrwoman of Shining Heights. Welcome to our Weyr, Shadowrider." Her smile widened and she dropped her gaze. "Although I hope you don't greet everyone here by soaking them; I'm sure some wouldn't appreciate it."
Necia grinned. "The day is getting warm, though, and we're good sports, right, Kai?" The blonde just smiled broadly in reply to her friend.

At her words, he snapped back to attention, having been admiring the way the sun caught the smaller woman's highlights. His jaw almost visibly dropped when she announced her name and title. "Oh! Uh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to get you wet. I, uh...I..." he trailed off, blushing slightly. Great job. he said to himself. Kaereth had soaked the Jr. Weyrwoman!
Oh, I don't think she minds too terribly. Relax, you'll be fine. See? Regalth isn't even annoyed, so the girl can't be.
M'tri sighed. Right....

Vanecia laughed outright immediately following his apology, although Kai had the good manners to only let a large smile split her face in half, falling just short of a grin as she restrained herself. "Easy there, M'tri, I don't mind. It is getting quite warm out and I'd hate for you to change your tune just because of my stattion. You'll find that things here at Shining Heights are a little more..." She paused, looking for the right word, "Easygoing here than at other weyrs."
"You can say that again. Don't you worry about Kai and I; we won't mention this little indiscretion to anyway," Necia promised, grinning as Kai stepped over to her towel to spread it out on the rock. When she came to stand beside Necia, it was obvious that although the Scarlet rider's personality was powerful and made her seem larger, she was still an inch shorter than Kai was.
"Well, these clothes are soaked. Time to strip." Necia pulled off her shirt before Kai could complain, showing she wore a simple top made exclusively for swimming. "What?" She asked their looks and Kai gave her an annoyed look, although she said nothing, concious of their visitor.
Regalth, would you-
In answer to her unfinished thought, Regalth gave a powerful push and betweened across the Weyr when she had enough clearance. In moments she was back, bearing packs that Kai obvoously kept ready in her dragon's weyr. Fishing through them, Kai pulled out a similar suit to the one Necia was quickly revealing.
"Look like we're going swimming." She looked at Necia, then at M'tri, her face breaking into a wide, bright grin at the prospect and lighting up her whole face.

"Oh, uh, right." he said, sratching the back on his head, yes crinkled up in a smile. Ok, so he could relax. He couldn't hep it that the last weyrwoman he had was a wherry. Hearing the word strip, he turned his attention back to Necia to see her pulling off her shirt. Ok, so they were swimming. He didn't mind. It was kind of warm anyway...and his clothes did need to dry. With a nod, he pulled off his shirt and pants, revealing the pair of shorts he almost always wore just in case. He then gently laid his clothes on warm of the warm stones, rubbing at the burn on his arm before wading into the cool water. "C'mon!" he said, shouting over his shoulder at the pair of women behind him.

Kai and Necia looked at each other, then shrugged.
"I need to change. No peeking," she scolded her friend teasingly, vanishing behind the large bulk of Regalth. Grinning, Necia honored those joking wishes and simply followed M'tri into the water.
"She'll be with us in a moment," she relayed, ducking under the surface without waiting for a reply so that she could get her hair wet.
Kai's changing took only a little time, made longer only by the fact that her clothes were sticking to her. She laid the wet garments out to dry near M'tri's, then grabbed Vanecia's abandoned garments and laid those out to dry as well. With those tasks accomplished, Kai self-conciously entered the lake, slowly letting her body sink into and adjust to the cold water.

"Aye, Fio, looks like we're not to be alone afterall, eh?" The voice was odd - neither high-pitched nor deep, but clear all the same, ringing with a sort of uncommon cheeriness. The odd-looking man was sitting on a boulder beside the lake, legs dangling as he rested his elbows on his knees, the overly baggy trousers hiding the shapes of his swinging legs. The skintight red tunic that buttoned up his torso was an eyesore to the otherwise neutral scenery, the oversized riding goggles perched atop his skull quivering slightly as he cocked his head to one side to regard the people that had suddenly appeared on the banks. The wiry Orange beside him chuckled, tail lashing merrily.
Eh, Mine. I suppose not. Wot are we to do about this problem that has showed itself so very recently?
Y'rae chuckled to himself, feet still happily swinging. "Why, we're to introduce ourselves to them, that's wot!"

( I'm just trying this out for Regalth's benefit. So, blue to purple...
or should I make it purple to blue?
Hmmm... I like blue to purple better for long sentences, upon further consideration. However, should I make the start color lighter? I mean, she's generally dark blues and purples but even so...
Dear Lord, the amount of code for that thing!)

((It is, isn't it!!?? But so pretty!!!))
((Edited: Put back as you both replied already.))
Ashke and Myth came out of between several dragonlengths above the weyrbowl of the Shinning Heights Weyr, and hopefully their new home, Myth's orange-blue hide seeming to shine in the early morning light. Looking down at the heights below them and seeing the few dragons that were out in the early morning light, Ashke grinned, and reached to pat Myth's neck.
The rumors where true Myth. There do seem to be mutes here. Ashke had refreted to using the slang term that Fort had given Myth, though she used it with considerable more love and affection they had.
There are others!! We aren't the only ones. This looks like it will be a great home. So pretty!! Myth relpied, almost bubbling over with a his new found joy.
Ashke laughed out loud, and then pointed to a place a little ways away from what seemed to be the enterance to the living canverns. Myth seeing the spot himself, circled around to land, dropping the two trunks he held in his claws carefully before setting down next to them.
Ashke jumped nimbly down from her perch on Myth's back and gave the dragon a pat on his leg before moving her pack a little higher on her shoulders and starting off towards the enterence.
I'll go see if I can find someone to point us in the right direction. Why don't you go and see if you can find a spot to get some of this morning sunshine.
I think I'll stay with the pretties, thank you. Myth snorted a bit and snuggled in next to the trunks.
Ashke laughed at his protectiveness over the trunks. I don't think anyone is ging to walk away with them here, Myth. Noones going to talk your 'treasures'.
All the same. Myth stayed where he was.
((I think I fianally got it in the right place now. Though I will have to stay it wasn't all my fault.))
