I recently made 2 wallpapers for an as-yet relatively unheard of series called Sousei no Aquarion. I discovered it from a calender I picked up at the local Japanese bookstore 'cause it was on discount and it looked neat. The series is a lot of fun. Many cliches done decently, with beautiful animation and music by Yokko Kano. ( THough as far as I know it's not on its way to translation officially yet.)
One of my main web hobbies is to collect and make cool desktop wallpapers for series that I like. So, of course, I searched for this one. On a Google search I found all of 2. :/ Then I looked at the calender, and my mom's scanner... and decided to add to that number. I made these:
I'm rather proud of them, really. I wanted to get them out on the web for people to use. Normally I post my wallpapers on my page, and to Ani-Walls.net.
However, Sousei no Aquarion is not yet a series listed on ani-walls, and the site admin has a bouncing e-mail addy. Boo. So I turned to another page on my list, Animepaper.net. This other one has a very snobby atmosphere and a lot of harsh rrestrictions for use, but it had some nice walls, so I figured I'd give it a shot. They have a points system where you have to post and submit things that hold up to their standards to gain points to be able to download things.
I submitted those, and got this in response:
" You have been fined 100 points:
We have reason to believe this wallpaper was not created by you, we only allow wallpapers that have been created by yourself."
For both of them, so that was 200 points. I don't post on their little forum, and I haven't had a chance to submit much. My personal scanner is crappy, resulting in stuff that's fine for most people, but not them. This time I used my parents' scanner so it was nicer. I have no idea where they got the idea I might have stolen the walls. But I figure maybe it was because of a misunderstanding. So I replied asking them why they thought that, and describing where I got the images and how, and what program I used to make them. And that I'd posted them in my livejournal and such as well.
That was a bit over a week ago. There has been no response.
I was angry at them for calling me a thief and a liar in the first place, but I gave them a chance to clear up the possible misunderstanding. It seems there was no misunderstanding, they're just a bunch of
So.....My request to you folks is to spread the word in the anime community about these people. It would be greatly appreciated.
