I have no idea HOW I overlooked this band, but i did. Oh well, at least i'm doing something about it now. Blind Guardian is a great band, with equally great releases. My favorite is still "A Night at the Opera," and always will be (unless the new album is better xd ). Anyhoo, who else loves Blind Guardian?

I do love them, although the amount i've heard is somewhat less than it should be. Only have "Imaginations From the Other Side" which is in itself a good example of what a great band they are.

I as well overlooked them; all my friends falsely claimed to me that they were nothing but a nerd band...oh, how wrong they were.
"And The Story Ends" is one of my all time favorite songs by them.

"And The Story Ends" is one of my all time favorite songs by them. One of my favorite songs by Blind Guardian is and always will be "And Then there was Silence." just looking at the name gives me chills; it's one of my favorite epics of all time, and is just outright talented. Hell, the whole album is ******** talented. I love how they covered songs by Beach Boys and that Chordettes' song "Mr. Sandman."

Hail to ye lovers of Blind guardian! One of the fisrt power metal bands I got into and still one of the best!!! Bright eyes!!! first ong I ever heard by them and it rock me long and hard... Any band that sings about Lord of the rings (Bard song) is just somewhere far beyond power metal!!!

Blind Guardian is love.
My favourite album is a tie between Imaginations From The Otherside and Nightfall In Middle Earth. Somewhere Far Beyond is in an insanely tight second place.

Fantastic band with thrashingly good early material, moving into a totally unique sound with their new stuff.
An excellent journey in progressive power metal, they're really something special. Listening to them talk, they really know what they're doing, and it's not all about Lord of the Rings, despite the stereotype.

But I can't say I don't love the fact that they have a song about LOTR! LOL A good deal of there songs have a timeless non medievel theme like "Bright eyes" and "Spread your wings". And the mass of covers they have done rock!! m/

Possibly THE simplest one to remember, the one called 'Lord of the Rings.' xp

Ah, where to begin... I guess with Lucifer's Heritage. Symphonies of Doom is an excellent Speed Metal demo. All five songs on it are great. Like I say in every single Blind Guardian thread, the song Symphonies of Doom sounds so much like something an early Mercyful Fate would play.
Anyway, Blind Guardian's Speed Metal era... I really like Battalions of Fear. Majesty has a really nice guitar riff in it, thanks to the master, Andre Olbrich. Hansi Kursch's vocals are the most passionate of any other singer out there. Follow the Blind is a pretty good album, too.
Skip a few... Imaginations From the Other Side is definitely a masterpiece. There's not one bad song on the b***h. From start to finish, it's flawless. Nightfall in Middle-Earth, though over-rated as ********, is good none-the-less as well.
A Night at the Opera was a bit of a disappointment, and even that album wasn't bad. I just expected there to be more than one outstanding song. There's no need for me to say which epic masterwork the song is though. *cough*And Then There Was Silence*cough*

Yay a Blind Guardian thread! I almost started one actually.
So yeah, Blind Guardian's one of my favorite power metal bands. I love their style and their sound. The first songs I heard by them were Mirror Mirror and Bright Eyes....then I listened to more and more.
What really made me happy was when I discovered how they created songs based on novels. I truly loved Tommyknockers and Altair-4 because they're based on one of my favorite Stephen King novels, "The Tommyknockers". While many people really don't like those songs, I do.
Don't get me started on And Then There Was Silence. I love that song to death <33. I love Blind Guardian.
