Well, this looks like fun. And it makes sense, too. Helping each other is a great communtiy builder.
I decided rather suddenly yesterday to redesign my avatar. I like to change things up every once and a while, and I don't have many items that I can noticeably change my avvie's appearance with. So I decided to make this more long term and gradual, but more drastic than I originally planned, including hairstyle.
~Current Quest~ The Prism Butterfly Mantilla
I figured I'd start off with the most expensive and work my way down, just in case of inflation.
Price: Approx. 8,500--9,100 gold

The Butterfly mantillas can also be found in the April 2005 donation letters, but they're more expensive, so they're the "back-up plan."
Price: Approx. 8,700---10,000 gold

Anyone who helps is appreciated, and I will try to help with any quests of your own!!
~Donators~ Bookwyrme: 200 gold seiryumiko: 400 gold
Quest Fund: 3,000/8,500 gold

Well, I sold some of the items I did not need, and I'm now at 2,400 gold. The market on this item is apparently very volatile, so the price is down to 8,500 gold.
Many, many thanks to Bookwyrme for her gracious donation and her help in figuring that blasted trading system out!!!!

The marketplace is always fluctuating. Always. Quite annoying. I used to know the decent prices for most of the 2004 donation items, then the inflation hit, and they're still stabilizing, so the prices jump all over the place.

Good Luck Sileny. I hope you can get them soon. I'd give you mine... if I had some sweatdrop I'll donate to you eventually. But in the mean time, all I can give you is a bump.

Well, I got my wings! (No pun intended there...) Many thanks to all who helped!!
In addition, you might note that I look a bit different. Yes, this is the beginning of the avvie change I mentioned in the first post. The avvie now looks a bit more like me--except my hair isn't blue, and I don't have wings. Or wear evening gloves. But my nose IS always stuck in a book, and I DO have glasses that look kinda like that. And the clothes...yeah, it's spooky, somehow.
The update happened sooner than I thought it might, because I decided to sell some more of my items. Turns out, they were worth A LOT more than I thought they'd be on the market. I have GOT to pay more attention to that thing...anyway, the sale of the items generated plenty of capital--more than I needed, so I got a couple of the smaller things on my wish list.
Can anyone tell I'm a banker's daughter? mrgreen

Anyway...New Quest!!!
The Coco Kitty Plushie!!
Awwwww............cutie........you are all in awe of its cuteness!!!!!!
A bit more expensive than I first thought, but oh well, it wouldn't mean as much if it was easy to get, right?
It's about 18,000 at its cheapest in the Marketplace.
It can also be found in the October 2005 donation letter, but I don't know how much that costs because I couldn't find one. Maybe if I'm lucky, it'll be less. Sometimes the letters are--but in this case I doubt it.
At this time, I have: 3,500 gold/18,000 gold

Well, I have decided to put my current quest on hiatus. In the meantime, I will be buying some more clothes so I have a few more outfits to choose from. Basically, I spent some time going through the shops and marketplace looking for items I liked. I'm going to start with the cheaper ones, and work my way up.
So if my appearance changes rapidly over the next few weeks, it's just me trying to settle on something. For now, at least. mrgreen
