This is a bit different than the other "I'm in love with my teacher" threads. I'm not 15, he isnt gorgeous, or married, or gay. I'm 18, and he is exactly 10 years older than I. He is a bachelor with no intent of settling down any time soon as far as I know [we talk about his girlfriends often.] I've known this man for a few years, and we have become friends. He isnt strikingly handsome, maybe even slightly goofy looking by average 'attractiveness standards'. Nor is he shallow himself, judging by his girlfriends pictures. We have a ton in common, and the only thing I'm slightly intimidated by is his intelligence, since he is college educated after all. I hang out with him often in school during free periods. He's made a couple of comments that lead me to believe that I might have some sort of chance when I graduate. Obviously, I would never attempt anything until I am well out of school. But thats this coming June. My closest male friend seems to think that I would have a 7-8 out of 10 chance with him, that I seem like his type of girl. The only issue I guess is the age difference and the fact that I would be a former student [oh, and he was my actual teacher a couple years ago, I no longer have him as a class teacher]. I've always said I would make a move after I graduate, but I dont know. On some level, I want to be romantic with him, but I would love to just sit and talk with him for hours over coffee rather than have sex with him. He makes me shy, when no other male has.
I guess I just need consolation and general advice.
More information on request?
New: Yesterday I had an absolutely mindnumbing conversation with him about relationships, started due to the fact he just broke up with the woman he was recently seeing. We agreed on a lot of things like intellect and literacy and non-partying... Hehe =)

I don't know... I have never had anything like that happen... just keep in mind, he's 10 years older and slept with tons of women probably... I couldn't do that for that reason. But do what you want!

Skully Kat I don't know... I have never had anything like that happen... just keep in mind, he's 10 years older and slept with tons of women probably... I couldn't do that for that reason. But do what you want! Haha, definately has not slept with that many women. He's a geek. Not a very affectionate-with-his-girlfriend geek from what I can tell, either. 8D heart

I think it's sweet. I, too, have had teacher crushes. I sort of have one now (he's 23 and a sub... and I'm nearly 18 ) but that's just because he's gorgeous and majored in physics... but yeah, I sort of know what you're saying.
Just remember that as awkward as this seems from your prospective, imagine how it is from his. If you ever come on too strong around him, don't be upset if he seems taken back... I mean, imagine if your former student did so to you.
However....
... there shouldn't be anything terribly wrong with you meeting up with him over the summer. You could try asking him to have a cup of coffee with you, talk with him about stuff. Like I said, it may be kinda awkward, even meeting up as friends, but what have you got to lose?
If you truely feel like you and him are close friends, just let the relationship flow in whatever direction it chooses... that way you're sure not to lose a good friend and cause any pain and embarassment on either side.
Maybe you should sit down and list all the pros and cons of eventually confronting your feelings to him... It might prove more enigmatic, but atleast you know what you're up against.

If you're gonna ask him out now is the time. He is probably on the rebound. I don't know though a 10 year age difference...

I had that problem too. But when I heard he had a wife and a baby, i felt sorta... Crushed. But I gt over it smile Atleast your teacher is like 40 that would be a 36-30 age difference
