Please take a minute of your time to read that article before replying http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2164006,00.html
That means you could own a ******** tonelade of any drug at home, as long as you only carry like 5 grams of marijuana and such very small ammounts it will be alright, this law is being implemented because this way they will be able to ignore consumers(making them people's own problem which in a certain way is reasonable) and focuse on the big dealers who are considered to be the main problem... anyways I do not think it is healthy, but who cares, now they will be leaving faster, more jobs for those who really care about their lives... the bad thing is now you will be seeing doped drivers and such kind of nasty stuff and it will be very dangerous... Mexico is not prepared for such kind of laws, there's still a very low level of education here... Instead of running a stupid law like this they should put the army to work on fighting the drugdealers, they know who and where they are but they suck at finding proofs for anything that's why they don't take action, most of those guys at the army do nothing through their lives anyways(unless there's natural disasters), this would be a good way to put our taxes to work.
Bah, personally this pisses me off because because this will cost lots of innocent lives... I'd rather have a soldier who's job would be dying fighting, than an elementary school kid die to the hands of a crazy doped guy... lol and this law puts in the spotlight the lack of education and preparation in mexicans, since they're not using their minds to think of the consequences or they are not thinking and measuring them correctly nor foreseeing correctly the situation for OUR context... I'm really sad and angry confused

just where did it state you could have any amount of any drug at home? I read the article and it said any amount over X grams/milligrams will face a penalty. personally, I think its a lame way to unclog the court system. tougher laws on owning any kind of drug need to be enforced. I still hold my stance that if alcohol is legal, pot should be legal too since they have the same relative intoxicating effect, but as far as legalizing amphetamines and narcotics, thats ridiculous.

It's not stated anywhere, but it doesn't say they would care if you had a jungle of weed at home, as long as in ur pockets they only found less than 4 joints it would be ok... plus mexican laws are not applied even to 90% of what they should be... mexican legislators for the lose confused

It's not as simple as geting an army to fight drug dealers......innocent until proven guilty remeber? Because of that you need tons of proof that someone is a drug dealer, and drug dealers know that so they do things to avoid exposure.

If Reagan's war on drugs were an actual war it would've been that easy. Anyone found with drugs woould've been sent to (cough*gitmo*cough) a prison or shot.

Don't a third or more of all one dollar bills have cocaine on them?
I don't think there's enough room in prisons if people were convicted on that.

Quite honestly, I don't see much changing because of this law. It will still be illegal to sell and buy drugs. now it just means they have to catch you in the act of buying/selling drugs, which was always an easyer case to convict anyway. And if they are planning on growing/processing their own, well thats still illigal too. the only cases that will get filtered out are going to be the minor drug possesion charges wich only get a slap on he wrist and a fine anyway.
