...well I decided to take a shot and buy one. I purchased the Tool one(volume one, derrh!) and am listening to it right now. I actually like it - a lot. Out of what I've heard, I think I like 'The Grudge' the best(edit: Okie, now I think it's Hush gonk whee ). 3nodding
So has anyone else purchased one of the Tool string tributes or another string tribute.(Do not talk about the covers and tribute albums... I hate those with passion gonk )
I think next I'll either get volume two or the one for NIN. biggrin Maybe it's just the band geek in me but I love the sound of it.
...speaking of which(I'm going off topic here so.... yeah)...
Tomorrow I'm waking at 4am to get ready and head to my school. Then me and the rest of my marching band is loading onto buses and we're make the long trip to New York City. We're preforming in the St Patrick's Day parade there, this Thursday(Look-see on tv, NBC!! AHHH!!!). We're going to see a play - Wicked. We're also going to one of those resturants, Medieval Times. whee It's going to be a blast.... we get to take a visit to the statue of liberty as well!

as it turns out im quite versed in the String Tributes, i have Both Tool SQTs and i had others for other bands, Incubus, KoRn and so on, and ill say, i am very pleased with allll of them, i love classical anyway...so it doesnt come to much of a surprise that i like all the SQTs...it made me wanna pick up Cello, which i still will do, at some point hehe but uhh yeah so, i love them, very good stuff, i didnt know though that NIN had one, and so now, i must buy it lol
and about the Tributes....i like the Gothic-Acoustic tribute to tool

I'm back from NYC as well(hrm, you probably could have guessed -_-).
It was fun, I like Medieval Times the most. I got a kick-a** stein(which they filled with an alcohollic drink even though I said non xd ), necklace, minature show dagger, and other stuffs. whee whee whee
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I leave for two days and the NIN site gets all updated!? domokun I'm making my own NIN thread here... for a home. gonk heart

Yeah, I have Third Eye Open and Metamorphosis.
Excellent tributes.
Check out 'Apocalypica' if you're into the string tributes. Great band.

i just bought the Piano tribute to Tool...
friggin awesome stuff!
the piano renditions are slowed down so sometimes its tough to find the rythm...but, man, when you find it, your transported into some kind of zone...its really good.
powerful stuff...

I just heard the string tribute to The Mars Volta yesterday. It was done suprisingly well considering they were trying to replicate Omar's erratic riffage. :/
